It wasn't the perfect start of college life for Shoichi Urata, a first-year husky, and a brilliant tennis player. The main reason he chose this school was none other but Yuuichi Michimiya, Shiba Inu worth dying for. The lavender furred canine wasn't sure anymore what he expected with changing places, daydreaming about spending every single moment with his boyfriend, taking long strolls around campus, swimming in the pool together without necessary clothing. But classes were tough and they had to focus if they wanted to stay here long enough to eventually graduate. But there was something else going on with that cream-colored dog and Shoichi was becoming worried each following day.

The husky could swear that he heard something across the corridor since their rooms were not only on the same floor but also opposite to each other. But instead of getting a smooch every day, they were leaving for classes, Yuuichi would usually only nod and maybe brush husky's cheek with his own. It was one of the few signs of affection he was getting.

Shoichi carefully opened the door, trying to make a noise and take a tiny peek outside, suddenly getting hit by a familiar scent. He could see a giant takeout bag from a nearby place that would serve incredibly greasy, amazing burgers with massive buckets of fries. But the person holding it didn't look like delivery workers, more like students, just like them. Why that person was knocking on Yuuichi's room?

Shiba Inu opened the door of his bedroom and shook hands with the feline individual before inviting them inside. It was another sign that both long-term lovers were getting distant as of late, but probably the husky got suspicious for no reason.

The envious canine tried to study, occasionally turning his ears like radars towards Yuuichi's bedroom, scanning for any strange noises. Growing tired of this whole situation, he stood up and peek outside once more. But there weren't any noises coming out, except something resembling smacking lips. Maybe they were just eating together?

The rest of his day was quite uneventful, not hearing any more suspicious sounds from the corridor. Did Shiba's friend stay for the night? Husky tried his best not to think about it and went to sleep, thinking about all the mistakes he did that could be the reasons for their colder relationship.

The very next day, just right when Shoichi heard turning the knob, he peeked outside wearing just boxers, wanting to see his boyfriend and probably that feline as well. But not only the other canine was alone, there was something different about him.

"Oh, good morning Yuuichi. Where's your friend?" Husky was forward with questioning, even if it sounded rude. But Shiba didn't look angry.

"Who? Oh? He was gone after the meal. Don't worry about it. I'm late for my classes so see you later, okay?" The canine rubbed his cheek against husky's and left, no turning back.

Shoichi knew very well that his classes didn't start for the next hour, adding to his already big suspicions. And... did Yuuichi gain weight? Husky swore that his belly looked larger and usual like he swallowed a basketball or something similar. After a long and sad-sounding sigh, he eventually returned to getting ready for his day.

The strange occurrences continued during the same week and in the same way as some sort of déjà vu. Someone would come usually with snacks or even without them to Yuuichi's little place, they would spend time together and the guests would disappear without any trace.

One evening, Shoichi pressed themselves against the door of his boyfriend, not minding if they looked quite shifty. He truly wanted to go to the bottom of this whole shenanigan, but causing no ruckus and losing the dear love of his life. That time he could hear more ominous smacking noises, after the normal-sounding conversation. Did Yuuichi join a club he didn't know about?

The very next day, husky wanted to forget about his feelings and doubts on campus' tennis court, drenching himself with sweat during an intense workout with a random sparring partner, since the Shiba had other plans that day.

After the first few sets, the husky saw something massive walking nearby, like a brightly colored blob, making loud thumping noises while walking.

"Yuuichi?" Shoichi whispered to himself, not believing his very eyes. How did his lover, a rising sports star make himself look like that? Massive, with multiple rolls of fat and chins, raising hefty, heavy legs while taking a casual stroll. It felt like a dream sequence from where the husky wanted to wake up.

"Ugh!" Husky groaned, suddenly hit by a tennis ball right to his temple. Shiba was gone when he looked again, before staring at his sparring partner.

"Fifteen love. Wanna take a break or something?" The wolf said, clutching to his racket, looking worried.

Husky shook his head and left the court, lost in thoughts. Was he going crazy all this time? After ignoring completely the other canine, he went back to his room, pondering.

Cold, basically freezing torrent of water sprayed across husky's naked body, while he did everything to grasp the reality. He stood inside the shower stall in his place, head against the chilling wall, completely lost. Was any of this real? Maybe the Shiba was just a figment of his imagination? What is his life? So many questions and he couldn't find the answer. In one moment he lives a happy life with a perfect boyfriend, just to suddenly go crazy.

After drying herself up and getting fully dressed, Shoichi faced the music, putting everything on one card, hopefully, the winning one. He knocked on the door of Yuuichi's bedroom, before waiting a long while which felt like it went forever. Eventually, it opened.

"Shoichi? What's up? You look like crap."

He was right. Husky looked like he didn't sleep for days, having a devastating mind. And seeing this strange blob of fat somehow made him feel better. Like seeing a long-lost friend.

"Listen. I had my reasons why I didn't find time for you. But..."

Husky didn't let him finish, fearing what was eventually coming. Now or never.

"Whatever is happening, I want to be part of it. Just... don't leave me, okay? I want to be part of you, always."

Shoichi had problems with reading Yuuichi's next reaction, which looked like a mix of fear and shock, followed by understatement and love. A look he almost forgot about. The gigantic Shiba nodded and invited him over.

Husky didn't care what would happen next. He just cared about being Yuuichi's inseparable part.
