I walked with Amy at her house late in the afternoon, since she asked me out at my house I thought today would be the perfect day to be with her, before I go to work tonight of course.

She was showing me her horses and I just smiled at them, they remind me of Roxanne and that night she got me to ride with her to the sky. I would never forget that night. Not to mention getting almost knocked out of the sky by a plane! I laughed at the thought.

Amy stared at me and said, "What's so funny?"

I waved her off and said, "Oh it's nothing. Anyways, which one's your horse?"

She pointed at the paint mare, "That one's mine, isn't she beautiful?"

I nodded in agreement and then I looked at her while leaning over the wooden fence that surrounds the horses, I said, "Hey Amy can I ask you something?"

She looked at me.

I said, "You seem to be pretty beautiful in my opinion actually very beautiful at that. So I was wondering how come your not with anybody?"

She laughed, "Is that what you ask all your dates? Do you always ask the girl why she's not with anyone? No wonder you're single."

I laughed, "You have a point there. So how come your not with anyone?"

She changed her expression to sad and sighed, "Well I was with someone, it's complicated."

I kept staring at her, and she took the hint to go on, she said, "Well I used to have a boyfriend, his name was Valentine. I can you this much he looked so handsome and hot, which why wouldn't I go with him? But lets just say he wasn't the perfect boyfriend I wanted him to be."

I frowned and said, "Why?"

She continued, "Because he was always the jealous type, too controlling. He always looked through my phone, always wanted to isolate me from everyone else. He was too much for me."

I felt pity for her, "I'm sorry."

She shook her head and waved me off, "It's fine. Its just I didn't want to talk to him anymore he was so toxic if you ask me." She sighed and said, "Well enough about me, how come you're single?"

I giggled, "Nice job changing the subject. I don't know I guess I haven't really thought about it, I guess I didn't see the point in doing that kind of thing I think."

She hummed and said, "Well I guess you didn't want to pick wrong the girl."

I nodded and said, "Something like that."

She nodded and said, "I knew it." And she sighed and stared at the horses, she said, "But you know something Frank?"

I looked at her, and she continued on, "I did remember meeting you when we were little. How we used to ride on horses together, I'll be honest I thought you were just cute."

I giggled at the thought, "Well we were just kids. Doing kids stuff."

"Yeah but they were good memories, and I remembered your father he was a good guy."

I nodded in agreement, "Yeah he was."

Amy giggled and said, "I'll tell you the truth, I was scared to ride on horses when I was little."

I looked at her shocked, "You were?"

She nodded, "Yeah I was, no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get my butt to ride on one of them. Not even my parents could help me I was so scared."

I had a curious look on my face, "So how did you get over your fear? Did my dad taught you not to be afraid?"

She shook her head, "No, but the reason how I got over my fear, it was pretty weird."

I was more curious than before, "What?"

She giggled, "One night when I was little sometime before your dad died, I was talking a walk in the woods, because I couldn't sleep and I know I was little and walking by myself in the woods is a bad idea, but I wanted to get some fresh air. So when I was alone in the woods walking on the trail....I did see something that helped me get over my fear of riding on horses."

I kept staring at her and she looked at me and said, "It's gonna sound crazy."

I poked her, "Just say it, it's not like I've been through crazier things lately."

She giggled and said, "Alright....Well I sometimes think I was only half dreaming because I remember I was sorta sleepy, but when I was  alone in the woods, I thought I saw a horse. A beautiful white horse. A...A horse with wings."

I made a small gasp, and stared at her with wide eyes, "What?"

She giggled again, "I know right? A horse with wings, crazy huh? Well after I saw that horse with wings, I felt some sort of confidence building up inside  me. I guess maybe I just wanted to be graceful just like that horse was. Perhaps even make the horse fly just like it would."

Hmmmm, Amy saw a horse with wings years ago. Well Roxanne said she was watching over me when I was little before my dad died, could Amy saw Roxanne years ago? I guess it's possible. Ha, if Amy found out that the same horse she saw is around and she's staying with me, she would be shocked, not to mention amazed as well. Oh if only she knew my secret.

Amy tilted her head, "Frank?"

I shook my head and said, "Sorry I just got something on my mind."

Amy smiled, "What were you thinking about?"

I shook my head and smiled, "Just what you just said. You know when I was little my dad used to tell me and my sister stories about us flying on a horse with wings and that horse would take us wherever we wanted to go. I always did wished that we could do that." And that night when Roxanne let me ride her, my wish came true.

Amy said, "That's a very cute story." Then she sighed, "Well look how old we are, we really have changed over the years."

I reached out and grabbed her hand, Amy held it. Then she slowly turned her head to look at me. Then I leaned forward to give her a kiss on the cheek, then Amy kissed my lips. I was shocked by the kiss for a sec, then I kissed her back.

Then Amy pulled back with a guilty look and said, "Oh sorry, I didn't mean to-"

I interrupted, "No, no, it's alright. I didn't mind it. I'll tell you the truth....I like you." Then I put on a smile.

She smiled back at me and said, "Well I wasn't lying to you that I thought you were cute back then, I meant it."

I giggled, and then we kissed again.

Well what do you know I actually have a girlfriend now. Dad would have been so proud of me.

It was work time at the bar for Frank and here I was sitting at the booth waiting for him to be done and over with. Of course Frank feeling concerned about me because of what to me and some drunken fool the other night. But I told him I could take care of myself.

I looked at all the mortals here having a good time. I took a few glances at Daniel who is what you call it? Bartending.

When I looked at him, I still remember that strange fuzzy feeling that I had when I was with him. I still don't why, but no need to dwell on it.

I was looking at Daniel when Frank's mom Kate and her boyfriend Ray, came to the bar. I didn't expect to see them here, but I guess it didn't really matter.

Suddenly a mortal came to me all drunk and said, "Hey honey, you looking for some fun?" Then he giggled.

I glared at him, "Shut up."

The drunken mortal said, "You sure you don't want me, because I think mine's bigger than everyone else's" He laughed.

I got up angrily from the booth and said, "Fuck you." Then I walked away from him to go outside, I heard the idiot still laughing. Pretentious asshole.

I walked outside glad that no one was around to see me humiliated. I leaned back against the wall behind me and sighed. It'll be over soon, just need to wait for Frank a little bit longer.

I was still waiting outside when I heard the door to the bar was opening and someone walked outside, it wasn't the drunken mortal. It was Ray.

Ray saw me and said, "Hey Rox, what are you doing out here? I thought I saw you inside."

I shook my head, "Nope right now I'm right here."

Ray came to me, "What happened?"

I looked at him, he's actually concerned about me? Shouldn't he be with his girl? I decided to answer his question, "Lets just say some drunken asshole came on to me and I wasn't interested. He kept coming on to me and I just left. He can go deal with his own crap."

Ray just giggled and said, "Well it's a bar, there's bound to be some trouble brewing here. Huh? Get it? Brewing? You know like beer, brew? Get it?" Then he laughed.

I didn't get the joke, "Right."

Ray waved his hand and said, "Oh whatever, can I join you?"

I looked at him again, I was skeptical but then after a second passed I said, "Sure, why not?"

He came closer to me and he leaned against the wall with me. While I was content with looking at the stars as usual I could see that Ray was staring at me. I said, "What?"

He said, "You're not from around here, are you?"

I looked at him and asked, "What makes you say that?"

Ray then said, "Its just that when you went with me, Kate, and her son with us to eat breakfast at the diner the other day, you kinda acted like you didn't belong in this world, like you belong somewhere else. It makes you...Mysterious."

I grinned and said, "Well I guess mysterious is my specialty."

Ray then said, "You know, I like mysterious things, they really are interesting."

I looked at him and said, "What are you implying?"

Suddenly I felt something touch near my bottom, I looked back and looked at it. He was rubbing his hand against me! I glared at him after I saw his hand, "What do you think you're doing?"

Ray then had a grin on his face and said, "I  was picturing us together actually. After all you do look beautiful."

I still glared at him, "I though you were with Frank's mom Kate."

Ray then said this that made my blood boil, "She's not as hot as you are, in fact I think we should be together." Then he learned forward to try to kiss me!

I pulled away from him and slapped him hard across the face. He stumbled back his hand on his cheek.

While rubbing his face he said, "Ow, you bitch! What'd you do that for?"

I screamed at him, "How about when you tried to kiss me you pig! You're a cheater and a liar! I knew there was a reason I didn't trust you. If Frank finds out about this."

Ray then pointed his finger and said, "If you tell anyone about this, you're going to be very sorry."

I glared at him, standing my ground and then I said, "I don't need this." Then I turned around and walked away. To wherever I need to be alone.

I was sitting on the bench at the park in the middle of town. I was watching the kids play in the playground. My thoughts were still on what just happened to me before I left the bar.

Ray that bastard! I can't believe he would do that to me! Me of all mortals, and I'm not even a mortal at all! I'm just a Pegasus pretending to be one! And he kissed me! Arrrg, if he EVER does that to me again, I'll kill him.

I closed my eyes and sighed, if Kate finds out what her boyfriend was trying to do she'll be devastated. Not to mention Frank might start a fight with him. Maybe I should tell him, but then I wonder if it's a good idea. I'll have to think about it.

I kept staring at the kids playing, and smiled. They remind me of me and my best friend playing when we were little. Louis, we were always best friends. Sometimes I even wondered if we would be together as mates. But he never asked me to be his mate, and I thought we would just be friends. I wonder where he is now?

He's probably still trying to find Loki. I hope he's alright. He was trying to tell me about me staying here in this world. Trying to tell me I didn't belong here, that I didn't belong with Frank.

I closed my eyes tight, but I do belong with Frank. He needs me more than ever, I wish Louis would just understand it.

I was still thinking about Louis when I heard someone walking towards me, I looked up and saw Daniel walking towards me. Daniel? What's he doing here?

Daniel saw me and stopped, "Roxanne? What are you doing in the park? I thought you were with Frank."

I shook my head and said, "No."

He leaned down to look at me, "What's the matter? Come on Roxanne I'm your friend, you can tell me."

I looked up at his face and he smiled, he seems to be truthful, he's nothing like Ray. I said, "You don't want to know. Lets just say that...You know Kate O'Donnell's boyfriend Ray right?"

He nodded and I continued on, "He came on to me outside the bar but I didn't want him, he disgusted me."

Daniel only nodded again and said, "You okay?"

I nodded and said, "Yeah I'm fine, I just needed some time to myself. You're not upset?"

Daniel got all excited and said, "Oh yeah I'm upset. It wasn't right what Ray was doing to you. Not to mention that he was trying to cheat on you behind Kate's back. I mean Frank is like a nephew to me and he's doing that to his own mother. I won't tolerate it, especially when he's doing that to you."

I smiled at him and said, "I appreciate your concern."

He nodded and then he said, "Hey Roxanne, I know you probably should be with Frank and all, but do you want to come to my place for a drink?"

I stared at him with wide eyes, "I...I don't know." I don't know how long my transformation as a mortal will last, I might lose concentration soon and I might transform into a Pegasus in front of him. That could be bad. I was going to decline until Daniel urged me to go.

"Please Roxanne, at least let me make you feel better. Look I won't try anything I promise, scout's honor." Then he put a hand to his heart after he said it.

I only stared at him trying to say yes or no. It could be bad, why would he invite me to his place? To come on to me like everyone else? Was he trying to be nice to me? Well Frank said, he's a very nice guy. Maybe I could stay with him for a little bit. But if I feel like I'm losing my concentration and if I feel like I'm going to change back to normal I'll leave. Yeah that's a simple plan, then I smiled at him and said, "Sure, I'll go with you."

He reached his hand out and I grabbed ahold of it. He pulled me up, and then we walked to his house together.

Daniel made a cocktail for me called manhattan and I took a sip of it. It was good. Wow I'm already inside his house and I'm enjoying it.

Daniel sat in front of me at his table and we talked for a while ever since we got here. He was telling me about his life and I was telling him about mine, without some parts with me as a Pegasus of course.

I said to Daniel, "So tell me Daniel, how did you know Frank's parents? You seem pretty close."

Daniel smiled and answered, "Well I grew up with Frank's father actually, we went through high school together as well, basically me and him were buddies, I mean we were before he died, and he actually met his soon to be wife Kate at high school and years later they got married. I was his best man by the way."

I laughed and said, "Well my parents met each other when I was little. It was one day in the woods and soon they were inseparable." Then I put on a glum face, "They died several years ago."

Daniel then said, "I'm sorry to hear that. My dad died a few years ago. I'll tell you something he was the only person who ever taught me how to bartend."

My eyes went wide and said, "Your dad? Was he a bartender like you?"

He nodded, "Yeah and so was my grandfather. I grew with a family of bartenders. My granddad was the best in the family."

I smiled at him, "You seem to take a lot form him."

Daniel sighed and said, "Yeah god bless his soul I did, because if I didn't I wouldn't know what to do in my life."

I turned my head to look around in his house. Then a picture on a desk caught my eye and I could see it was Daniel when he was younger and some mortal woman he's with.

I pointed at the photo, "Who's that woman with you?"

Daniel followed my gaze and he said, "My late wife, Cindy."

I gasped and said, "Oh no I'm so sorry."

He waved it off, "No it's okay, it was a long time ago. You see I met Cindy when we went to school together and not very long after we graduated we got married, it was perfect."

I asked, "What happened to her?"

Daniel thought about it and said, "She had a brain tumor in her, and it was cancerous. She didn't last very long. She died a few years after we got married. After she died, I lost my way, I became a alcoholic. But one day, Kate and her husband, turned me around and if it wasn't for them I wouldn't be here right now." He sighed and said, "I guess me and Kate have a thing in common, we lose someone and then we start to drink. I'm just glad that she changed just like I did."

I said, "Frank did tell me she became a alcoholic after her husband died."

Daniel nodded, "Yeah." Then he had a tear in his eye.

I felt sorry for him and asked, "You still love her, don't you?"

Daniel answered, "Part of me does yeah." Then he looked straight at me.

I wondered why he was staring at me, "What?"

Daniel smiled and said, "To be honest, you remind me of her. You remind me of Cindy."

My face went wide and I blushed at the statement, "Ah...."

Daniel giggled and said, "Your face is red."

With embarrassment I said, "Yeah I could imagine it is." Then I got up and started to walk out the door.

Daniel got up and said, "Where are you going?"

I turned around and said, "To go back to Frank, he's probably wondering where I am. I'll talk to you later." Then I went to the door again.

Daniel came to the door real fast and put his hand on the door to prevent me from leaving, I was shocked and just stood there, "Daniel, what are you doing?"

Daniel pulled his hand away from the door and said, "I'm sorry its just you look just like her. I sometimes think I'm looking at a ghost, but you're not. I know we don't know each other that well, but...I really like you."

I blushed again and just looked at him, "I don't know...What to say."

He shook his head, "You don't have to say anything. I don't know what to say either. But I...Think I really like you."

Honestly this is getting weird to me, he's a mortal and I'm a Pegasus, I can't be with him! I said, "Look Daniel, I really appreciate your honesty and I'm very sorry for the loss of your mate." I shooked my head furiously and said, "I mean wife, I mean I can understand why you like me because I sorta look like your wife and I think you need to-"

He interrupted me when he put his lips to mine for a deep kiss. At first I thought about fighting it, but then I gave in and kissed back. We kissed for a moment and then we pulled away from each other.

Daniel then had a guilty look on his face and said, "Roxanne....I didn't mean to-"

I opened the door and said, "Goodbye Daniel." Then I went out and slammed the door.

I walked down the porch and kept walking on the sidewalk without looking back to see if Daniel's watching me. What am I thinking? I kissed a mortal back! Am I completely insane?! I think being a mortal for too long is starting to get to my brain. I need to get back to Frank.

I was halfway to get out of town when suddenly I felt that warm fuzzy feeling again just like the other night. I stopped and started to rub my belly with my mortal hand.

That feeling...Could that mean that I'm...I'm...

I shook my head and said to myself, "I must be out of my mind." Then I went back to walking out of town to Frank's house.
