Back in July of 2021, when the comic Gaypardo had its own Patreon, there was a reward tier that granted sketches (which could then be upgraded) as one of the rewards. This is one of those sketches.

There's something about the simple life that just appeals, isn't there? The chance to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and just relax, kick up your feet, and share a beer and cigar with a good friend while chatting the day away about nothing specific - just letting the conversation flow. Sometimes, it's best to just take some time out to live that life, even if only for a couple of hours.

So we see Phil and Mr Jefferson doing just that. Sitting back, relaxing, talking bollocks, and just enjoying each other's company. Beer in one hand and cigars on the go. An ideal way to kill some time and put the world to rights. It's a nice bit of escapism to the realities of life. Phil already has his cigar burning well, while the old otter gets his underway. Phil is only too happy to share his cigars and it's a nice upgrade for Mr Jefferson from his usual cigarettes.

As we see 2023 out and welcome 2024 in, why not use the year to take the time to spend more time with friends? Not doing anything, just lazing back and chewing the fat. Enjoy a few drinks (alcoholic or otherwise) and just take the time to appreciate each other's company. Who knows, maybe that little bit of social connection will help 2024 become a much better year than the previous few have been?
