A husky... or is he?
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
Well, it's been quite some time since I've uploaded a drawing here.
Here's a doodle of my husky, Ethan Novikov.
He started as my first ever online avatar but got quickly replaced by a new one after a few months. I planned to shelve him permanently but a year after I've done so. I couldn't help myself and revisit him.
His new design's heavily based on a doodle I did to keep my hands warmed up. And I immediately loved how he looks.
Then came the time to write his story. I could've easily made him be involved in a few stories I alreadly have. But I also wanted him to have separate identity from my current roaster of characters.
Then I saw a review of John Carpenter's The Thing (1982) on youtube. And I immediately had a lightbulb moment when I saw the kennel scene. Opened my notepad and started writing down the draft of Ethan's story.
So here he is! While he's inspired by The Thing. I gave him several little details to make him notably different from his inspiration.
