The wind was still rushing at my face, as I was held in the dragon's paw. I looked down and saw that we're VERY high up. I looked to my right and saw that Jessie finally stopped crying, while also being held in the other paw. I don't even know how long we were flying. Maybe...A few hours, I think.
I looked up at the dragon's face, she's still concentrating on her flying. I could still hear her wings flapping.
Although I have to admit it, I do feel safe in her paw, at least she won't drop us. But I'm also nervous. Because of where we are going.
That we're going to where her kind lives. To where a bunch of other dragons live.
Now I'm basically curious. How do the dragons even exist really? And how come I never even heard that they're real?
How long have they existed? How old is the dragon species? Are they even older than the human species?
Come to think of it, how old is the dragon that's with us?
Well...I guess when we get there, maybe I'll find out.
I hope that the other dragons don't suddenly attack us. I hope they're just merciful as our black friend here.
Apparently she knows how to talk like a human, and she even knows my kind so well. Are me and Jessie not the first humans she has met? And...How does her speaking like a human even possible? I thought she was an animal.
Well she seems pretty intelligent for her species, I'll give her that.
I wonder if all the dragons are like that? I'll find that out as well.
I looked at the paw that I'm in. Taking a good look at it.
I think I could see that her paw doesn't have four toes just like most animals. She has five of them. The fifth one looks like an opposable thumb. No wonder she has gotten a good grip of me and Jessie here.
Jessie....
I looked at her and I could see it in here eyes that she's still sad about this. I don't blame her.
This is kidnapping pretty much in a way. But...I did this to us. This is all my fault.
I never should have went into the cave at all. And now...We're stuck in a situation we don't have any control of.
I also have to hope that we'll go back home. That we'll be safe.
I know we can make it. We just have to give it some time.
We'll show this dragon and the rest of her kind that we're not the humans they would think we are. We'll show them all.
We just have to keep the faith in. I know we can do this.
I just hope Jessie has the same optimism as I do. Because the way it looks now...She's not showing it. She's really scared.
And I don't blame her one bit.
The black dragon veered to the right in flight, she looked down at us as she flew and hollered, "How are you holding up?!"
I looked up at her and hollered back, "Fine! Doing Fine!" I looked ahead and without looking at the dragon's face I hollered, "Are those the mountains?!" I pointed ahead, as I saw some mountains ahead.
The dragon followed my gaze and answered, "Yes! We're almost there!" She started flapping some more, heading to the mountains high in the air.
She flapped again and flew over the mountain, gaining more altitude as she still flied. After she flew over the mountain, we in between the mountains now.
I could see a forest down below us as she flew, is this where her kind lives? But she kept flying over the trees not stopping at all. Until we weren't over the forest anymore. I guess that's not the place.
I looked ahead and Jessie did too. Then all of a sudden, the world around us was getting weird. The world was starting to shift. Me and Jessie's eyes went wide. What's going on?
The world around us finally stopped shifting and in its place up ahead, me and Jessie could see where we are going plain as day. Jessie's jaw dropped as she saw it.
A big stone city was ahead of us, and soon with me and Jessie still in the dragon's paws, we were flying over it. I was still in awe over this. Is...This where her kind lives?
I can't believe it!
They...Live in a stone city, and it's between the mountains!
I've never heard of this place before.
The dragon was done flying over the city and she started to glide down towards the land outside the city. She slowed down her flying and she flapped again as we got close to the ground. Stopping herself from descending even further.
The black dragon landed on her hind feet, her wings curling behind her. She lowered her front paws with me and Jessie in them to the ground and let us both out of her grasp. I swung my bag that I got with me on my shoulder and I sighed. Well at least I can relax. I stretched my arms out and then I looked at the city nearby.
There's a very tall and big stone wall that surrounds the city. I could even see the big doors on the wall.
Me and Jessie were just staring at it and then the black dragon padded toward us. She sat down on her haunches and asked, "Surprised?"
I looked at her and so did Jessie. I asked the dragon, "What is this place? Is...This where your kind lives?"
The black dragoness followed my gaze and nodded, "Yes. This is the dragon city. Where most of my kind lives."
I frowned at her. Dragon city.
A dragon city. This is all pretty new to me.
I wonder what the streets are like in that city? Despite everything that happened, I'm pretty curious.
Curious indeed.
Jessie was shaking a bit, she's getting nervous again. The dragoness looked down at Jessie and cocked her head, "Something troubling you, girl?"
Jessie was rubbing her arms with her hands, I could even see her teeth chattering, "This really feels like the most scariest experience I've ever had in my whole young life."
I saw that the dragon grinned at Jessie's statement, "Not everyday that a dragon gets to carry you in its paws." She giggled, "Talk about a dream come true for you."
Jessie then shot a glare at the black dragon and said, "Dream come true?! You kidnapped us!"
I tried to shush Jessie, but Jessie went on in a instant, "You kidnapped us against our own free will! I didn't want this! I...I didn't want to go! I...I wanted to go home!"
The dragon glared at Jessie and lowered her head to her level, "Sorry, but I can't just let you go. You two are total strangers to me and I don't know what you'd do. As for right now, you're stuck in this city with me."
Jessie pleaded, "Please, let us go!"
The dragon then hissed at her and then she looked at me, "Since you're her friend, I suggest you calm her down already. I don't want to hear another high pitch scream out of her little mouth."
Jessie put both hands to her hips and said with an accusingly tone, "What does THAT mean? I don't have a shrill voice, you freakin lizard."
The dragoness shot up her head, "Ha! Is that the best you can come up with?!" She rose her head off our levels. She placed a paw on her chest and remarked, "I'm not a lizard, I'm a dragon."
Jessie shrugged, "So WHAT?"
I frowned at the dragon, "Yeah, so what? What's the difference?"
The dragon answered, "Well because dragons are warm blooded compared to lizards. That's the difference between us."
Dragons are warm blooded? That's crazy!
Well when that dragon pulled me close to her chest while we were flying. She did feel kinda warm. I guess she wasn't kidding that her kind's warms blooded.
My mother wouldn't believe this. And if my dad was alive right now, he wouldn't believe this either.
Then all of us heard a roar in the distance and then another one. My eyes went wide when I hear the roars. Must be the other dragons that live in the city. They must have saw us landing outside of it.
I could see a few figures flying off the big wall. Flying down at us. I held my breath, well we have company coming.
Jessie was pretty much hyperventilating when she saw a few more dragons coming. She muttered repeatedly, "We're gonna die, we're gonna die, we're gonna die."
The dragon looked down at me, "Hey, I told you to calm your friend down."
I clasped a hand on Jessie's shoulder and said, "Jessie, calm down." I gestured to the dragons flying down at us, they were getting close to landing in front of us, "They're not going to hurt us."
She whispered to me as fear clogged her voice, "Easy for you to say. You're not scared of a bunch of big scaly lizards."
The black dragoness groaned, "For the last damn time, DRAGON. Not LIZARD, DRAGON."
I held out a hand to the dragon, "She knows that."
The dragon shot at me, "Then also tell your friend to quit calling my kind lizards."
I shot a glare at her. Then I looked at the few dragons that have flown off the wall and landed in front of us at the same time. There were three of them. They all curled their wings on their back and one of them advanced toward us.
Jessie threw herself into me and I held her tight, comforting her. She's really scared.
The one coming toward us has scales that are black. The front paws of that dragon has some red markings on them.
The other two dragons that are just staying behind are both red.
The black dragoness glanced at me and Jessie for a moment and said, "Let me do the talking." Then she stood between us and the dragon padding toward us.
I could see that the other dragons that are here are wearing some kind of armor. They're even wearing helmets. My eyes went wide at the sight. Disbelief clawing at my brain. I don't believe this either!
Dragons are even wearing armor. Never heard of that before.
The dragoness smiled at the dragon coming toward us. She said, "Greetings! I've come back to this city! It's been awhile!"
The dragon who walked towards us sat down on its haunches and asked, "Wait!" Judging by the sound of the voice, that dragon's male. He cocked his head, "Sis?" Then the male black dragon removed his helmet and lowered it to the ground. He smiled at the black dragoness, "It is you!"
The dragoness smiled back, "Hello brother! It has been awhile since I came back here!"
The dragon who is the dragoness's brother nuzzled her and said, "I can't believe that you're here, so early! So early, than usual."
I frowned at the two black dragons. They're siblings.
I never figured that the girl dragon that brought us here has a brother. But hey, I don't know her all that much at all.
The dragoness pulled herself away and sighed, "Brother, I need to talk to you." She grinned a bit and shook her head, "And you're not going to believe it."
The dragoness's brother groaned and rolled his eyes, "Ancestors sis. What is it that you want to tell me about now? That you somehow caught sight of the world's most handsome drake?" He playfully grinned at her, "I know you sis, and you can be a bad liar."
The dragoness laughed, "Well you know me all too well!" Then she bore a serious look, "I'm not kidding though. Something happened."
He cocked his head at her, "What happened? Why are you home early than usual?"
She gestured to me and Jessie with her wing tip, "Them."
Her brother followed to where she gestured and saw me and Jessie, while I was still holding Jessie in my embrace.
He glared at us and then he glared at his sister. He said, "Sister, what's going on? What are those humans doing here?"
The dragoness let out a sigh, "Those humans found out where I was and-"
The dragoness's brother snarled, "And you just brought them here?!" His wings flaring and his tail thrashed and he went on, "You know damn well that humanity outside the city has changed! Do you know how dangerous that is?! Those two might kill us in our sleep!"
She shook her head, "They won't, I'll make sure of that. And besides." She glanced at us and then to her brother, "They seem to be on their best behavior, so far."
The dragoness's brother shook his head, "No it's too dangerous. Humanity has changed for some reason and we can't take any outsiders here." He glared at her, "You should have left them behind."
She shook her head again, "But I was afraid that they would alert the humanity about our kind. And I'm also afraid that they would try so hard to find this city and eradicate us."
Her brother sneered, "Exactly! And since those two humans know where we live, those humans might try to escape and tell the whole humanity about where we live! Several dragons almost died when humanity changed sister, including you! They used to be our allies and they turned their backs on us!"
I frowned at the siblings. What's he talking about?
Humanity actually became friends with the dragons?
I've never heard of all that. When did that happen?
This is getting more strange.
The black dragoness shot back, her wings flaring, "I know that!" She let out a huff, "But I'm giving them a chance. I've brought them here because I don't trust them, because I'm afraid they would leave and go tell humanity about me. But I brought them here, so they would prove they can be trustworthy."
Her brother shook his head and groaned, "The mayor won't like this idea. He's kinda apprehensive about bringing outsiders here."
She sighed, "I know that we have a few humans that have stayed here. And we both know a few of them. And I know that bringing them here would be a bad idea." She put a paw to her chest, "But sense I'm just a good dragoness, I'm being merciful. They haven't tried to kill me and that's a start." She took a step toward him, "I'm giving them a chance and that's that. If they try anything that causes trouble." She looked back at us and said with a threatening tone, "I'll kill them."
Jessie gasped in my embrace. I glared at her. Well I hope we be on our best behavior. But then another thought came to me.
A few humans are actually here in the city? Were...Were they kidnapped as well? Or did they stay there on their own free will?
The dragoness looked at her brother and said, "I'm doing this brother and that's it." She then added, "Remember if they try anything, I'll stop them myself. Now please....Just let us in the city."
Her brother shot a glance at me and Jessie and then to his sister. He let out a long sigh and said, "Okay. All three of you can come in the city."
The dragoness nodded and smiled, "Thank you."
But then her brother said, "Just remember, next time you see a few more humans that you want to kidnap, just leave them behind."
She nodded again and giggled a bit, "That's a deal. And don't remind me."
Her brother looked at me and Jessie and asked, "Who are you humans?"
I let go of Jessie and she looked at the dragons too. I introduced ourselves, "My name's Brandon. And this is Jessie." Jessie gave him a little wave.
The dragoness's brother said, "If you cause trouble or if you hurt my sister, I'll be the one that kills you."
I nodded to his terms, "That's fine. We won't try anything."
The dragoness's brother picked up his helmet off the ground and put it on. After that he whirled around and said, "Follow us to the big doors." Then he walked off with the other two dragons that came with him.
The black dragoness looked back at us and said, "Lets go."
I nodded and then I held Jessie's hand. We both followed the dragons to the big giant doors at the wall.
The doors opened for us and we entered the city. The big doors closed shut behind us. Me and Jessie were in awe at the sight of the streets.
Stone buildings surrounding us and we could see several dragons out on the streets. Several of them of different colored scales. The streets even have streetlights that are made of lanterns and they're lit.
The dragoness lowered her head to our level and urged us, "Don't stand around like fools. Lets go." Then me and Jessie followed the dragoness to where we are going in the city, me and Jessie walked beside the dragoness, as we followed the three dragons who came to greet us outside the city. I look around as we walked, I could see the dragons have houses as homes to live in and I could see they also have...Stores.
I could see a few signs on the stores that I can read. A few in apparently different language, dragon language I suppose. And a few other stores that have a language I can read.
Like, The Dragon's Eye, The Woven Dragon, and a few others.
All of us walked on the streets for along time, I was still looking at the stone buildings. These buildings look just like the ones humans have, but they are made of stone, not concrete. It feels like I'm living the stone age.
Dragons have stores and they have homes here. I don't believe it.
This is pretty odd.
The dragons out on the streets watched me and Jessie as we walked by them, they're pretty curious about us, judging by the looks in their eyes. But me and Jessie didn't say anything to them, we just kept walking.
Finally after a while, we all made it to some kind of motel, by the looks of it. The dragoness's brother whirled around and looked at his sister. He said, "Well you know what you need to do with them."
She nodded, "I know. And don't worry, I'll handle them." She put up a smile.
Her brother nodded, "You better handle them and if you let them get into trouble. I'll kick your ass."
The dragoness rolled her eyes, "Whatever."
Then the dragoness looked down at me and Jessie and said, "Alright, get in the motel."
*****
Me, and Jessie are walking in front of the black dragoness, after we already entered the motel. We are in the big hallway now.
Soon we saw several rooms with dragons sleeping in them. Several of them sleeping on furs. Guess they really love sleeping on furs.
Soon all three of us went through a opening that's big enough for a dragon to fit through. There are no doors, just like human motels.
After me, Jessie and the dragoness have entered the room. I could see that the room has two mirrors on each side of the room and a pile of furs for us to sleep on. There's also a balcony nearby for us to look outside, since we're on the fourth floor.
I removed the bag off my shoulder and slowly laid it on the floor, as Jessie looked around the room and exclaimed, "Nice, stylish place."
The dragoness strode past us, "Well this place is not your typical human living establishment, but it'll have to do for you two." She stopped and whirled around to face us. Me and Jessie ducked low as she turned around.
The dragoness looked down at us after she turned herself around and said, "So...Can you handle staying in this room? I'm sure you cold handle it."
I nodded and said, "Thank you."
She narrowed her eyes down at me, "Don't thank me yet. I don't trust you yet."
I shrugged my shoulders, "What are me and Jessie going to do? Try to run away from you? We're in the damn dragon city, doesn't us staying here mean enough to you?"
The black dragoness stared at us for a moment and nodded slowly, "I'll admit, you two are doing well for your first night here. But you better be on your good behavior. Cause if you aren't, then I'll-"
Jessie groaned, "And then you'll kill us. We know, we get it."
The dragoness glared at Jessie, "You know, I never even pictured you as the sarcastic type."
Jessie crossed her arms, "Well what did you expect from me? Me being a dragon that kidnaps innocent humans and gets away with it? Not to mentioning threatening us?"
The dragoness said, "I don't like your tone, girl."
Jessie shot back angrily, "Well I don't like being kidnapped and flown away by a scaly bitch like you! Humans have their own free will!" And then Jessie glared at the dragoness, "And I don't like you right now."
The dragoness lowered her head to our level, "I don't have to like you all that much. But just be glad that-"
Jessie cut her off with a question, "What? That you didn't eat us? Well now that I think about it, I think I want to be eaten right now. Since I'm probably going to be a prisoner here for a lifetime."
The dragoness just glared at her and sighed, "Alright just for the record, dragons don't eat humans. We have only chew them in self defense. We don't literally eat them."
I asked, "So then why did you say earlier tonight that-"
The dragoness answered before I could finish my sentence, "Because I was just talking. I guess I should have just said, 'if I wanted to kill you I would've done that by now, but no I have not.' Hmpf, I guess that would've been better. Better than saying that I would eat you and then crap out your carcasses."
Jessie made a gross face, "That sounds gross!"
The actually giggled at Jessie, "Well that would be payback for blaming your problems on me."
Jessie shot at her, "That's because it's your fault that we're in this mess!"
The black dragoness rose her head off our level, "I'm not going to argue with you for a fact that it wasn't my fault and that it was all Brandon's fault." She looked at me, "Isn't that right, human?"
I sighed in guilt, "Don't remind me."
The dragoness then started to walk forward and she brushed past us, "Alright, it's late and I'm going to find a room for me to stay in." She looked over her shoulder and said to me and Jessie, "I'll see you two in the morning."
I said to the dragoness, "Wait a minute!"
Before the dragoness could move she asked, "What?"
I took a few steps toward her and said, "I'm just wondering. Before we entered the city, you and your brother mentioned something about humans staying here and you know them?"
The dragoness narrowed her eyes at me, "What about them?"
"Look, I'm just curious. Did your kind kidnap those humans out of their free will and made them stay here, just like me and Jessie? Or did they just wanted to stay here all on their own, that your kind didn't make them stay here?"
She just looked at me and then I asked another question, "Then what about what you two said about...That humanity has been friends with your kind? I've never even heard of all that before. When did that happen?"
The dragoness sighed and said, "I figured you never heard all about that. You and your girlfriend looked pretty surprised by my appearance."
I shouted, "First of all, Jessie's not my girlfriend! Second, just answer my questions! Please! I want to know the truth. Is that why you didn't kill me and Jessie before? Is that why you let us live and just became...Merciful to us?"
Jessie got up behind me and placed a hand on my shoulder, "Brandon, just let this go."
I brushed her hand off of me, "No, I want to know what's going on here!"
The dragoness said, "Look, I'm afraid I won't be the one who'll answer your questions. You probably wouldn't believe me if I was telling you all that stuff. There's...Someone else who's qualified to answer them."
I frowned and titled my head, "Who?"
The dragoness smiled, "A friend of mine who lives in this city. He'll tell you everything you need to know. I'll bring him here tomorrow once I find him." She narrowed her eyes again, "But you two stay here in the morning. I'll bring my friend here around that time. Don't go wondering off and do something stupid." And with that she went through the opening of the motel room, leaving me alone with Jessie.
I sighed and turned myself around to face Jessie, "Well this didn't go so well."
Jessie strode away to the balcony with her arms crossed, "Yeah." I followed behind her and we both were out on the balcony, looking down at the streets of the city.
Jessie and I were just standing there. I smiled at the sights, "Pretty beautiful from up here." I looked at Jessie and asked, "You okay?"
She shook her head, "No...I'm...Very shaken up about it."
I had a pity look for her. She's really not taking this whole thing well. I placed a comforting hand on her shoulder and said, "Everything will be alright. At least we're still alive."
She faced me with a furious glare, "But it's not fair!"
My eyes went wide from her outburst and I removed my hand off of her. She went on, "We're kidnapped. Brought here against our own free will! This isn't fair and it's not right!"
I said, "But everything will be fine. I'm sure everything will. You'll see."
Jessie closed her eyes and she started to sob. I let out a quiet gasp. Oh...Jessie.
I wrapped my arms around her and held her tight in my embrace. She buried her head in my shoulder. Jessie said while she was sobbing, "I...I...I wish I didn't run away from home." Then she went back to sobbing some more.
I sighed, as I rubbed her back tenderly. Poor Jessie.
This is my fault that this happened.
But I'm sure that everything will be fine.
You'll see, Jessie. You'll see.
*****
I was padding on the streets of the dragon city. Morning has finally come.
I'm on my way to meet one of my friends to tell him about Brandon and Jessie. I'm sure he'll be surprised.
Honestly I feel sorta guilty for bringing them here against their will. I even feel for...Jessie.
She has every right to be angry at me, but I was being cautious about them. I didn't know them and they didn't know me.
I just didn't want to take the chance of them leaving me and then telling the humanity about me. I just couldn't.
I don't want to fight anyone, but I certainly don't want to die by them either.
So being the good dragoness that I am, before I left the motel this morning, I left a basket full of apples that I've gotten from a vendor outside for Brandon and Jessie to eat. I'm sure they would love apples.
I giggled to myself as I walked. I'd bet they would be surprised that we dragons not only eat meat, but we also eat apples as well.
Apples seem...Sweet to me and that's why I love eating apples here in the city.
I asked a few dragons around about where my friend would be at. He's getting ready for work. Since he's a human, it's not hard to ask about him.. And everyone in the dragon city knows him. After all, he's pretty famous. Especially in my favorite restaurant, The Braveheart.
I hope he won't be so upset at me for kidnapping humans and bringing them here. I won't hear the end of it!
I made my way to the stone building where the sign on the window says, Human Education Classes.
I went through the opening and made my way through the building. Since this place is not pretty big, it won't be hard to find him.
I made my way into a big room, that's actually a classroom for human education classes. The hatchlings really learn a lot of things about the humans these days.
It's too bad that they won't see the humans these days. I wish the humanity never changed at all. I still wish both our species could be friends again. Especially...Tommy.
I shook my head out of the thought. I need to look for my friend. Not think about Tommy!
I could see my human friend standing on a small stage where he teaches the hatchlings. I smiled when I saw him. There he is! He'll be so happy to see me come back home! I bet he missed me. I've been gone from this city for...I've lost count. But I bet it was months.
My friend ahead his back turned and I strode up to him. I sat down on my haunches and said to him, "Hey."
My friend turned around and saw me. He beamed at me, "Rain! You came back!"
I laughed and nodded, "Yes, I have." I lowered my head for him
He ran off the stage and threw himself at me for a hug. Wrapping his arms around my neck. I returned the gesture by wrapping my paw around him.
My friend pulled himself away and asked with a big smile, "Wow...When did you get back here?"
I answered, "Since last night."
He giggled, "You really are full of surprises, Rain."
I sighed and nodded, "Yep." Then I added, "And so are you, you little bastard."
My friend said, "Hey! At least you like my surprises! Pretty much like this certain dragoness who loved them."
Then we both had a glum look as we thought about this dragoness that he was talking about.
Sierra...
You really have been gone for a long time.
Then I remembered the reason why I came here and I looked at my human friend and said, "I need to talk to you. It's important."
He frowned, "What's wrong? You look kinda...Weird."
I sighed, "Well more than weird, I'm just a little stressed." I waved my paw at him a bit, "Just a little."
He asked, "What's gotten you so stressed?"
I answered his question without hesitation, "I...I brought two humans here, last night."
His eyes went wide, "You did what?"
I groaned a bit, "I'm sorry. It just happened without warning. This human boy came in the cave and...Lets just say things went downhill from there. There's also a human female as well."
My human friend sighed, "Damn it, Rain. You know you don't just kidnap people in the woods like that."
I said, "But I was afraid they would tell the humanity about me."
He asked, "So why didn't you just fly away after they spotted you?"
"Because I was afraid that humanity would resume their search for my kind. And then...Find us."
My friend said, "But you probably made a even bigger mistake by bringing them here. Did those humans attack you? Just like-"
I shook my head, "No, one of them is scared shitless more than anything. The human male was pretty brave about things and as for the female, well...She was pretty fearful for her life."
My friend asked, "Alright, start at the beginning, what the hell happened?"
I took a deep breath and let it out, before I began my tale.
*****
Me and Jessie were still in the motel room, just doing as the black dragoness told us to do. Pretty much still morning. The morning sunlight flooding through the opening of the balcony.
I was just sitting on the pile of furs eating a apple, while Jessie was just pacing back and forth in front of me.
I looked at her and while eating a piece of the apple and swallowed. I sighed and said to Jessie, "Jessie, why don't you just sit down? You're making me nervous."
Jessie stopped pacing and shot a glare at me, "I hate doing this bullshit. Where does that dragon get off barking orders at us like that? Don't we have the right to go wherever we wanted without someone telling us what to do? We have free will too, you know."
I sighed, "Jessie, we're waiting for that dragon's friend to tell us what she meant by saying...Humanity has became friends with dragons. Besides." I pointed at a basket full of apples, "At least we have something to eat and it's all thanks to that dragon."
Jessie huffed, "Well this FRIEND of hers better get here soon. I'm tired of waiting. I want to get out, not be a prisoner in this freakin motel."
I narrowed my eyes at her, "Oh, calm down."
She still glared at me, "Don't tell ME to be calm! I'm still worked up about being kidnapped by some scaly bitch with wings."
I rolled my eyes, "I don't know girl. You're kinda acting like a bitch right now."
Jessie's eyes went wide, "WHAT?!"
I laughed and waved her off, "Oh relax, I'm only kidding."
She softened her look and giggled a bit, "You better be kidding, or I'll slug your face right now. Then I'll slug that dragon's nose for kidnapping me!"
I laughed again and said to her playfully, "I'll be looking forward to that." Then I saw something enter our room. Jessie whirled around and saw it as well.
The black dragoness came back with...A male human.
A human with short brown hair, nice pair of clothes. And he appeared to be in his...Mid thirties.
Me and Jessie frowned at the human. So the dragoness is friends with a human.
I can't believe it. He must be one of the humans who have stayed in this city.
Well at least we'll talk to one of our own for right now.
The human stood next to the dragoness who sat down on her haunches. He asked, "So you must be Brandon and Jessie?"
I nodded, "That's right." I got up on my feet from the pile of furs.
Jessie frowned at him, "And you must be the dragon's friend?"
The human nodded, "That's right. And I'm sorry for what Rain did to you two. It sorta wasn't fair, but hey you can't blame her, right?"
I tilted my head, "Rain?" Then I looked up at the black dragoness, "Your name's Rain?"
The dragoness said, "Not the name I was born with. Call it my second name. The name you can pronounce. Better than my real name anyways."
Her human friend looked at her and he giggled, "And I'm sorry for saying your name in front of them."
The dragoness who is named Rain looked down at him and she grinned, "Don't worry about it. They were bound to find out about it sooner or later."
The human nodded and he looked at me and Jessie. He smiled and said, "I suppose you guys have questions for me?"
I nodded and took a step off the furs, "Yeah, first of all." I gestured toward the human, "Who are you?"
The human answered with a smile on his face still, "Wayne. Wayne Madigan."
