At least every two weeks I have to fly to Germany, and a few months ago on the trip back I was waiting at the gate and had the idea to get a commission of exactly that moment.
I really like what whiteleonard came up with, it's the "lionized" version of my human self with a slight "retro" touch. Not exactly life-like but familiar enough to see myself in it.

There is a song quote that really fits to those moments when I sit at the airport thinking about home and the one I love waiting for me:
"You only hate the road when you're missing home".
