I think I'm finally nailing down a look I want for Dame Sahara, protagonist of the ARC Knights novel project. This is mainly a base ref to begin colors with, but I wanted to show off the design process as I zero in on her appearance. Each ARC Knight has their own theme that reflects their personality. With Ellie, I wanted to give her a subtle futuristic Egyptian look that's a bit more minimalist than my other characters, but not without the cues that would distinguish her. She lost her left eye during the trials that resulted in her promotion to Knighthood, and now has a synthetic replacement. On the lower right you can see one of my concept designs for the head of her ARC Spear, a specialized weapon that all Knights wield, where I carried over some of the theming from her armor. When I begin colors, I plan to make it a black flexsuit with teal accents and gold armor plating. Her synthetic eye, and the various gemstones, glow when she charges her power.
