Wrong Step
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
He tried not to move fearing that whatever movement he could dare do would simply make him sink that much faster and further. Barruk had thought that the arid sandy plain of Saarith Valley was crossable and fairly uninhabited by anything the gnoll warrior could handle. He was anxious to get back to the party and his scouting mission had yielded some valuable information. Everything seemed to be going well as he was almost to a slight rocky outcrop near one side of the valley when suddenly what had been solid, firm, sandy ground, turned into a yielding molasses of muddy sand. He soon found himself waist deep in a muddy mire that continued to suck down his muscular frame. Thinking quickly he pitched what little heavy armor, his battle axe, and bags of items over beyond what he had hoped was more terra firma. Indeed all the items landed with a thud on the sandy surface some ten feet away just in front of the stones that had been his destination. He began to wade through the quagmire 'swiming' as best as his instincts would allow him but it wasn't long before he found no advancement and had lost most of one arm and upper body to the sucking sand. His chin dipped into the mire as he tried to strain to get to the first bit of the rocks that seemed so close and yet so far. He dared not cry out for help for one he could hear no one and for another rumors were the valley was filled with slaves anxious to catch anyone not hearty enough to make it. He tried to claw towards the rocks but only succeeded in getting his find tips sucked into the muddy sand. He hoped someone might come along before all that remained of him was a patch of wet sandy earth.
