I knew I'd use various shades of blue because it's the sea, water is shapeless, always moving. As the dragon rises from the surface, I tried making the water seem to move up. I knew I wanted the two fins. The spikes on the back were only added when I made this final. I also erred with where to put the wings, but I managed to correct it.

I painted this on the afternoon of March 7, 2024. The figure was drawn with a pencil, and then outlined with a pen. I used watercolour paints and water. I drank coffee, ate a sandwich, a banana and M&M's, and listened to the "Joran: The Princess of Snow and Blood" soundtrack. I spent 65 minutes on this, start to finish.
