\n

\n As with most of my stories, this one will contain acts of violence, bad language and gay sex, it will also deal with gay relationships. If any of this content is not for you or you are not old enough, then please don't read any further, otherwise enjoy!!!

\n Author's Note:Leo the Fox and Deitrick Steinberg are characters created by Rion Kagemon. Rion was my mate up until recently when we parted on good terms, we are still good friends and he has given me his permission to continue to use the characters.

\n

\n

\n

\n It's Monday morning and I wake up nice and early, I'm wrapped in the arms of Leo, we are both lying on Officer Jordan's couch, well after the frightening events of yesterday I could hardly expect Leo to feel like heading back to his place. I slowly and gently untangle myself from Leo's arms and I head towards the bathroom.

\n

\n

\n

\n Once inside I notice that the shower has already been used, I'm guessing that David has had to work the early shift today, as for me I just have enough time to have a shower and dress back in my day clothes and then Leo and I will head out, Leo will drop me off at the store and then continue on his way home, I will then walk into the convenience store to begin my new job as Deputy Manager, in truth though this is not just a new job, it is a new start, a chance for me to try and claw back those four years that I'm missing.

\n

\n

\n

\n I strip out of my clothes and then switch the shower on, whilst I take care of.......other business. With my morning ablutions now complete I step into the now nicely heated shower, I allow the warmth of the water to flow through my body and then I begin to wash my fur, I know only too well that it will take quite a while to get my once proud and shiny fur back into condition, but hell it'll be worth the work.

\n

\n

\n

\n After my shower I dry off and quickly get dressed, I then head downstairs where I find that Leo is now awake. Leo looks at me with a smile and speaks.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Today's the big day huh? The day when you lay four years worth of ghosts to rest and become a Deputy Manager, well hun, for what it's worth, I'm so proud of you"

\n

\n

\n

\n My tail wags rapidly at the comment, and then I quickly head into the kitchen to make some toast, while Leo puts his shirt back on. With breakfast out of the way, I leave David a note and some money in thanks for letting me and Leo stay the night, we then head out to his car and begin our journey.

\n

\n

\n

\n We pull up outside the convenience store and I get out and straighten my jacket, I look into the car.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Well hun, how do I look?"

\n

\n

\n

\n Leo looks at me, he smiles and then replies.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Hun, trust me, you look fantastic, besides this ain't an interview you are goin' to, the job is already yours, I have no doubt that the first thing you will do when you get into the store will be getting your store uniform, so please sweetheart, don't fuss"

\n

\n

\n

\n I know that Leo is right; I guess it is just first day nerves. I lean into the car and quickly kiss Leo on the muzzle; I then close the car door and head into the store, sure enough as I walk inside Taylor Dryfus is waiting for me.

\n

\n

\n

\n "A whole fifteen minutes early Chance, I'm impressed, now let's get your uniform sorted out"

\n

\n

\n

\n We walk to the male colleague changing rooms and I find a spare locker to put my everyday clothes and things into, before I undress, Taylor hands me my new uniform and then speaks.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Ok Chance, I will wait outside for you, then once you are dressed in your uniform, we will head to the personnel office and get your name badge made up, once that is done you will spend the day with me, just until you get your paws used to working an eight hour shift"

\n

\n

\n

\n The horse lets out a giggle as he leaves the changing room; once he is gone I begin to get out of my clothes and into my uniform. My uniform is a light blue button down shirt, a pair of black trousers which fit snugly, a burgundy coloured tie, and burgundy coloured jacket. To finish off the look is a pair of shiny black shoes.

\n

\n

\n

\n Once I am dressed I stand in front of the full length mirror and begin to use my paws to straighten out my fur. Once satisfied that I have done as much as I can, I bundle my day clothes into my locker and take the key, I then head out of the locker room to meet up with Mr Dryfus.

\n

\n

\n

\n As I step from the room the horse looks me up and down.

\n

\n

\n

\n "You scrub up real nice Chance, keep up this standard of work dress and you will be a credit to the store"

\n

\n

\n

\n The horse now leads me to the personnel office where we pick up my new name badge. I stand and stare in awe at the badge, Chance McNally - Deputy Store Manager, is emblazoned on it. Taylor takes the badge from my paws and gently attaches it to my jacket.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Welcome to Value Mart Mr Chance McNally, I hope that you serve the store for many years to come"

\n

\n

\n

\n The horse extends his hand which I take into my paw and shake, with the pleasantries now over, Mr Dryfus takes me on the official store tour, and I begin the first new day of my working life.

\n

\n

\n

\n As we manoeuvre around the store a feeling of familiarity kicks in and soon I'm finding things out of place and rushing to put them right. I look at my watch and see 10:33 displayed on its face, I then look up and see a face from my past, a face that I will never forget, the face that cost me four years of my life, the Hyena that committed the robbery and murder for which I was wrongly imprisoned.

\n

\n

\n

\n I freeze to the spot and Taylor looks towards where I'm staring, he instantly recognises the same face, he hands me his cell phone and his car keys and then speaks to me.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Mr McNally, I know that you have just laid eyes upon a certain Hyena, normally I would ask that you escort him from the premises, but that guy cost you four years of your life and I think it's time that he repaid his debt to society"

\n

\n

\n

\n I look at the horse and make my reply.

\n

\n

\n

\n "You mean that I should get my revenge on the swine?"

\n

\n

\n

\n The horse shakes his head slightly and continues.

\n

\n

\n

\n "I don't see it as revenge; I see it as you helping to remove scum from the streets of this otherwise friendly and family orientated town. Now Chance, discreetly follow him around the store, then when he leaves take my car which is parked outside the front of the store and follow him back to where he is hiding out, once you are at your destination, use the cell phone to call the police and then wait until the police arrive"

\n

\n

\n

\n I begin to turn towards the Hyena to begin his tracking when Mr Dryfus speaks again.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Chance, I know that you will feel like killing the guy for what he cost you, but that will make you no better than him, and I know for a fact that you are not that kind of dog, so please don't give him the satisfaction"

\n

\n

\n

\n I give the horse a slight nod and begin to track the Hyena around the store, ducking into hiding places when he turns around. He heads towards the booze aisle and picks up a large bottle of Jack Daniels and surreptitiously slips it inside his jacket, he then heads towards the exit of the shop.

\n

\n

\n

\n I give the Hyena a small head start and then I click the remote on the car keys and watch as the indicators flash on Mr Dryfus' Ford Explorer, I quickly get into the truck and strap myself in, I fire the engine up and begin to slowly tail the Hyena back to his hidey hole.

\n

\n

\n

\n After ten minutes I pull up outside a disused night club, this is where the Hyena appears to be hiding out; I place a call to the police. Within five minutes the nightclub is surrounded by armed police, I look for the detective in charge only to find that they have given David the job of my liaison.

\n

\n

\n

\n "So Chance, anything I should know before we raid the place?"

\n

\n

\n

\n I remember the bottle of stolen Jack Daniels.

\n

\n

\n

\n "If you are looking for an excuse to arrest him, I know for a fact that he took a large bottle of Jack Daniels from the shop"

\n

\n

\n

\n David looks at me and is about to ask why I didn't stop him sooner, but then he sees a look in my eyes, it's a look that tells him that I want this Hyena put away for quite a long time.

\n

\n

\n

\n The armed police get ready, and then suddenly they burst in through the doors of the nightclub. After five minutes the Hyena is lead out from the nightclub, his paws wrapped in a set of paw cuffs, a bleeding wound to the side of his head where he has obviously put up some kind of resistance.

\n

\n

\n

\n As he is lead to a waiting police van our eyes meet, I stare at him and I'm sure that I have one of the brightest smiles that I have had in a long time plastered on my muzzle. He looks at me and the realisation hits him as to who I am.

\n

\n

\n

\n With the van now heading off to the Hyena's rightful overnight stop I head back to the truck and then drive back to the store, I walk into the store with a feeling of shear relief and happiness and I head over to where Mr Dryfus is standing and hand him his truck keys.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Sir, I know that I don't have the right to ask, but I was wondering if it would be possible for me to get some time off when the trial of the Hyena comes around please."

\n

\n

\n

\n The large Stallion grins a wide grin and places his hoofed hand on my shoulder and replies.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Chance, that guy not only robbed this store, but he also robbed you of four years of life, it's only natural that you want to see him sent to the pound and placed on death row. As it is, Miles Denholm who was the manger who got shot by that Hyena was a very close personal friend of mine, so I too will be attending the trial. So request for leave to attend the trial is granted"

\n

\n

\n

\n I thank the horse for his kindness and head off to complete my first day back at work. The rest of the day seemed to fly by and soon I was standing at the clocking in machine waiting to punch out. At the stroke of 6:00pm I tap in my ID number and hit the clock out button.

\n

\n

\n

\n I head out towards the shops exit to find a familiar car waiting outside, it's single occupant a stunning black and white furred fox, a fox that I'm beginning to consider as my mate.
