The False Messiah
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
Inspired by Byzantine art from the era, I created a personal version blending elements from the Gospel regarding prophets dressed as the Messiah or similar figures. Referencing Matthew 7:15-20 — "Beware of false prophets! They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruits you will recognize them" — I depict a anthropomorphic wolf holding a lamb nestled between its paws. The wolf is predominantly black, symbolizing sin, greed, and the ferocity that emanates malice and corruption. This imagery warns against those who, under the guise of a good shepherd, may deceive the flock with false appearances, leading them astray. The artwork aims to evoke the danger of false prophets and the importance of discernment in recognizing true spiritual guides.
