I woke up in Daniel's bed in his house, after I came over last night. Daniel already got up and I can hear him making food in the kitchen. I got up slowly and stretched my mortal arms and realized that I'm still a mortal. Well at least I haven't became my normal self right now, at least in front of Daniel.

I smiled to myself happy that I went to him, and then my eyes went wide, oh my god I'm went and started a relationship with a mortal. Then I laughed to myself and Daniel heard me and came into the bedroom, "Hey what are you laughing about?"

I waved him off, "Nothing, I was thinking about something and I just laughed about it."

Daniel smiled and said, "Oh yeah? What were you thinking about?"

I giggled at him, "I was thinking about you."

Then Daniel came over and kissed me on the forehead and said, "I figured you did. And you know I really am glad you came over last night. I was afraid you wouldn't speak to me again."

I only smiled at him, "You wouldn't have to worry about losing me Daniel. I...Really care about you." Then my thoughts went to the gods and what I really am, how is this going to work out?

Daniel was getting worried and said, "Something wrong?"

I looked at him and changed my expression to happiness, "No, nothing wrong at all. Nothing wrong at wrong at all." Then I kissed him on the lips.

I went walking back to Frank's house after I had breakfast at Daniel's. I wanted to stay with him but I could feel that I'm going to lose my concentration on my mortal form and turn back to normal.

Not very long after I came into the woods I transformed back into the Pegasus once more. And while I was walking back to Frank's house, my thoughts went back to Daniel, the gods, and who I really am.

What am I really doing? Am I going insane? I just started a relationship with a mortal and I'm not even a mortal myself! I mean what if the gods find out? I mean its not like they don't already know that I came here to find Frank and not to mention that they wanted me to find Loki for them so Frank and I wouldn't die at all. And more importantly how is my love for Daniel going to compete with who I am? It won't work out, that's the problem.

Then I smiled, so what if I'm not a mortal? So what if the gods find out? It's like what Frank said last night. If they have a problem with that, then to hell with them! All they do is control me and I'm tired of it! Only I control my destiny, not them!

I sighed as I went on, I love Daniel and he loves me and that's all that matters. I know that somehow things will work out. But what if Daniel finds out? I don't want him to think that I'm a freak. And more importantly how would think about me not being a mortal like him. I'm almost afraid to find out, I really don't want to hurt him.

I was still walking when I heard a stick made a loud noise nearby. I stopped in my tracks and looked at the direction of the noise. It was probably an animal, but then before I could move I could see a black Pegasus ahead, it's Louis.

I smiled at him and said, "Good morning Louis."

Louis however didn't seem to be happy this morning, he had a grim look on his face. He said, "Good morning to you too, Roxanne."

I cocked my head and said, "What's the matter? Didn't find Loki still?"

He shook his head, not keeping his eyes off of me, "No."

I only said, "Oh." Then I decided to put up some optimism and said, "Well I'm sure he's around here somewhere, I mean he doesn't just disappear you know."

He took a step toward me, and he said sternly, "You look mighty happy today."

I nodded, "I am." Then I looked in his eyes and got a strange feeling he didn't want to come talk to me about Loki, and I asked, "Louis, are you okay?"

He nodded, still have a grim look on his face, "I'm fine actually. What about you?"

Now I'm getting a feeling he came to talk to me about me, "Yeah, I'm fine. Why? What do you think something is wrong?"

Then suddenly he said, "You know, you can pretend that everything's alright, and you can pretend that everything's upsy daisy. But the truth is you're denying yourself and you're denying who you really are and you can't escape it."

My eyes went wide and then I put on a serious face and said, "Look if this is about Frank, I don't care what you think about me and him. In fact I'm glad I came back to him after so many long years. In fact I feel happy here with him. And there's no denying that, and if you have a problem, quit being overprotective of me and let me make my own decisions. Because I can take care of myself."

He yapped back, "Oh really? Even when the gods are threatening you on your life? Don't you think you should stop screwing around already? We are supposed to be looking for Loki and here you are pretending to be something that you're not, the gods think-"

I interrupted him, "I don't care what the gods think! I love being in this world and I can control my destiny, not them! So enough reminding me of them already! I don't care!"

He shouted, "You should care! You're my best friend and I'm trying to protect you!"

I shouted back, "I don't want your protection! I told you I can take care of myself!"

He said, "What has happened to you? You're not the best friend I remember."

I yapped at him, "Well things change and you need to grow up. Now if you'll excuse me I need to find Frank now." I was gonna walk past Louis but he blocked the way. I sternly said to him, "Let me pass."

Then he narrowed his eyes and said, "Is that why you went to him? Because you've changed?"

I let out a frustrated sigh and said, "Louis, I already went through this with you, I care about Frank like he was my only son I've ever had. Now if you please-"

He interrupted me, "I'm not talking about Frank! I'm talking about your meeting last night."

I only stared at him, "What are you talking about?"

He narrowed his eyes still and asked, "Does kissing a mortal ring any bells?"

My eyes went wide, wait does he know? I said, "No, why should it?"

He said, "Actually yeah it does, because I saw you kiss one."

I gasped, he does know but how? Was he watching me? "How did you know?"

He answered, "Because when I was done looking for Loki for the day, I went to watch you to make sure you're not hurt. And then last night, I followed you to town as a mortal and of course I changed as well and what did I find? You kissing a mortal! Of all the things you've done! Are you crazy!?"

I hung my head in shame and said, "Louis, just listen to me." Then I looked in his eyes again, "I love that mortal, I love Daniel."

He shouted, "Love him?! Have you completely lost your mind?! You're a Pegasus and he's a mortal! And you love him?! What if the gods find out?! Do you know what they would do if they find out?!"

I shouted back, "I don't give a flying damn about the gods and what they think, I'm following my own feelings and quite frankly Louis, since YOU'RE my best friend I thought you would be happy for me. Because Frank is, because he understands me."

Louis asked, "Then let me ask you this, what would happen if Daniel found out who you are?"

I answered, "That's my problem, not yours."

He asked again, "Do you think he would love you after he finds out you're just a horse with wings? Do you think he would want to stay with you after he finds out? Have you thought about what would happen?"

I asked angrily at him, "What do you want from me? What do you want me to say? Why do you care, it's not your problem!"

He angrily said, "It is my problem."

I shouted at him, "Then why is it your problem?!"

He shouted back, "Because I love you!"

My expression changed from anger to shock immediately, "What?"

He changed his expression to sadness, "Because I love you Roxanne. I've always loved you. Ever since we were little, ever since we became best friends."

My eyes still went wide. He loves me? I never knew that. Or did I simply ignore it? I asked him, "How come you didn't tell me this before?"

He nodded and answered, "Because I didn't have the nerve to tell you. But now I realize right now I should have told you this a long time ago. I don't want to lose you, because of him."

I cocked my head, "You mean Daniel? Look he's not a bad guy, he's sweeter than you think."

He shook his head and said, "I don't care about him, I care about YOU."

I shook my head and said, "Listen I love Daniel and I can't be with you."

He took a step toward me, "He's a mortal Roxanne and we are Pegasus, you should know it won't work out. What you're doing to Daniel is put him through pain. Imagine what he would go through if he found out what you're not. Do you want that to happen to him?"

I looked away from him and closed my eyes feeling the tears about to form.

Louis said, "You're both different and me and you are the same. And I love you Roxanne, but I won't force you to choose. Only you can decide. And also remember, you're getting Daniel involved in this and think about what would happen if the gods found out. You think they won't? They probably know already. Listen I'm done talking now, I got a job to do and if you're smart like me, then you would do your job as well and come with me as well. Again only you choose how to live." Then he made a running start and took to the skies.

After he left, I opened my eyes and my tears have started to fall.

Daniel....What have I done to you? Louis...I'm so sorry Louis, I didn't know you felt this way about me.

I was having dinner with my mom and Miley at my house. Miley called me and said that mom and Ray and I are coming over to have dinner with you and I said sounds good, so here we are in the dining room having dinner together.

I looked around at the table, Ray and Roxanne are here as well.

Today after Roxanne came back home, she looked liked she was crying, I tried to ask her, but she said to me don't worry, and basically I left her alone all day.

My thoughts were asking me, what happened to her? Did Daniel reject her? But I also thought maybe something else had happened to her. That something else was bothering you, but I don't know anymore. After my family came over Roxanne seemed to have been feeling better, I didn't press her about it though.

My thoughts then went to Ray, looking at Roxanne while he's eating. That pig! I still can't believe he would try to cheat on mom like that, especially with Roxanne of all people. But what he doesn't know is Roxanne is not a human at all.

I really had the urge to tell mom about what Ray had done behind her back, but I was still afraid to bring it up. Don't really know what I'll get out of it, I guess that's the problem. But for now I've kept quiet and went to act my normal self.

Miley interrupted my thoughts and said, "Hey Frank, do you remember when we were little that dad used to barbecue outside and every time he does, he always turn our burgers into charcoal?"

I laughed and said, "Yeah I remember and I couldn't eat anything at all!" Then we all laughed, even Ray that bastard.

Mom then said, "Well Ray is a very good cook. He doesn't turn our burgers into charcoal."

I looked at him without any expression at all, "Good for him"

Ray had a suspicious look on his face, but didn't say anything.

Mom then said, "So....How your day went?"

I answered, "Busy, I think. I actually have a girlfriend now, did I tell you guys that?"

Miley and mom smiled at me and mom said, "Aw that's sweet, who is it?"

I answered, "Amy Crowe."

Ray then asked, "The farm girl?"

I gave him a look and said, "Yeah, the farm girl."

Now mom was frowning then she changed the subject and asked Roxanne, "So Roxanne, how's the food I brought here?"

Roxanne nodded and said, "It's pretty good. Thank you."

I smiled at Roxanne, at least she's doing alright. Then mom asked me, "Hey Frank, can I talk to you alone outside?"

I looked at mom and said, "Ah, I'm eating."

She shook her head, "It won't take long. It'll only be a few minutes." She gave me a look and it was serious.

I decided to just go ahead and go with her and I said to Miley, "I'll be back later sis." Then I got up from my chair and went outside with mom.

I wonder what's on her mind? It didn't take me long to think. Because as soon as we went outside, she said, "Frank, I need to ask you something. It has been bothering me for the past few days."

I had a concerned look and said, "What is it mom? What's wrong?"

She crossed her arms and said, "How well do you know Roxanne?"

I tilted my head and said, "What?"

She repeated, "How well do you know Roxanne?"

I nodded, "I know Roxanne well, why?"

Then mom said, "Because remember that she said that she used to work with your father at the university years ago?"

I nodded, "Yeah."

"Well I called the university a few days ago, and we chatted for a while and I asked them if there was a Roxanne that ever worked there? And they said they never had a record that a Roxanne has worked there, not even with your father."

My eyes went wide. Oh shit.

Then she sternly said, "How well do you know her Frank? Who is she really? Because one time she never even said her last name? Is she a runaway or something? Who is she?"

I raised my hands to calm her down, "Mom you really need to calm down. Seriously she's just a friend and she probably never even worked at the university maybe she and dad were just friends there."

My mom then asked, "Really Frank? You really think that? Because I think it's a load of bullshit and she's a liar and a manipulator."

I was fuming and I wanted to scream at her, but I calmly said, "Mom you shouldn't talk about Roxanne like that."

Mom then angrily said, "Why not? I mean after all she did try to seduce my boyfriend two nights ago."

What? Roxanne would never do that! It was Ray who came on to her. Then I realize that Ray told mom a lie and she fell for it. Then I sternly said, "She never did anything to him. It was Ray who was seducing her."

Mom then yelled, "Are you kidding me Frank?! She's a liar Frank! She's probably using you!"

I shouted back, "What?! Are you kidding me?! Roxanne would never used me! In fact Ray is the liar, not her!"

Ray, Miley and Roxanne came out because they heard us screaming at each other, Miley said, "What's going on out here?"

I said to Miley, "You want to know what's going on? Apparently our mom's boyfriend is a liar and cheater thats what's going on!"

Ray then said, "I didn't do anything wrong."

Roxanne then shouted, "You're lying! The other night outside the bar, you molested me and told me you didn't care about Kate at all. You even told me I was beautiful. And that I was mysterious."

Ray then said, "I never said anything like that to you, you bitch!"

Now that got me going and I shouted, "You know what? You are so delusional and you use everyone and everything to get what you want! You really are a scumbag Ray! I don't even see what mom sees in you!"

Miley was shocked by all of this while mom said, "Frank calm down."

"I mean you're probably using mom right now and for what? To get what you want, that's what you're after. You treat my mother like she was garbage and threw her away while you chase other women behind her back!"

Mom then shouted, "Frank, Roxanne is the liar, she's the one who's using you!"

I was fuming and shouted at her, "You don't even know her mom! So how would you know?! Hell you never even cared about me so what makes this any different now!? Hell you're not even listening to me right now, just like before!"

Miley then tried to get between us, "Guys I think we need to-"

Mom interrupted, "I did listen to you back then. And I tried to care about you. Its just that I was drunk back then and that's why I didn't do much."

I shouted at her, "Yes you did! You have treated me like dirt and you have hurt me, ever since my dad died, and quite frankly I don't think you have changed one bit over the years."

Mom then said, "I did change Frank! Its just you're the only one who doesn't think so!"

I yapped, "Oh really? Is that why you're trying to tell me that Roxanne's a manipulator? Well guess what you're with a manipulator and he's standing right here! And so after all these years you finally start acting like a mom!"

Mom then had tears in her eyes, "I'm sorry Frank! I really am sorry."

I shouted at her, "Sorry doesn't cut it with me! You treated Roxanne badly and I won't tolerate it, and if you cannot accept that Ray's trying to cheat on you, then you're a fool and you won't listen."

Ray tried to cut in, "Now listen here mister-"

I looked at him and interrupted, "Oh shut the fuck up! You're not my father and you never will be! And I want you and everyone here to get off my property, now!"

Miley then said, "Frank, don't do this."

I said to Miley, "I'm sorry Miley, but I won't deal with this, until mom tries to listen to me."

Miley then said, "We are listening Frank! And I think Roxanne is lying to you, I mean look what she's doing to you!"

I yapped at her, "You know what? If you don't believe me about Ray, then you get the hell out of here too. Just go guys, just go, just get the hell out of here! If all of you won't listen to me about Roxanne, and if Ray won't admit that he's a cheater, then just go."

Mom, Miley and Ray all stared at me and then mom said, "Fine. Come on guys lets go."

Mom and Ray went to the car and got in, leaving me alone with Miley who is starting to have tears in her eyes. She closed her eyes and walked away to the car as well. She got in, then the car backed away and then drove away on the dirt road.

I watched them leave until they were out of sight. Roxanne then came stood beside me and she said, "Thank you Frank. For standing up for me."

I smiled at her and said, "You would have done the same for me." But now more thoughts ran through my mind.

What's going to happen to mom and Miley now? I hope mom would listen and just leave Ray already, he's no good for her.

I hope she got the picture.

Loki was standing around with his minotaur friend talking to each other.

Loki said, "I think my plans is coming together and do you know why?"

The minotaur grunted.

Loki said, "Because I've just found out last night that a mortal is with a Pegasus as a mortal. I think I've just another mortal as bait. As soon as Frank is alone, as soon as his sister is alone, and as soon as the mortal that's with the Pegasus is alone as well, that's when we'll strike. And as soon as we have them, then that Pegasus would have no choice but to cooperate with me. Or else they would die. I do believe it's perfect!"

The minotaur grunted again.

"Soon my friend. Soon we'll put the plan into motion."
