Pond Shy
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
I admit, I have not been drawing much lately.. and colouring even less. I just don't have any muse in me.
So, I started this in May, and finished it late last night. I am no as big a fan of MLP as some, but I do appreciate how much it has EXPLODED as a fandom. I like it for what it is to me, another 'anthro' cartoon with pretty pastel ponies. Well, maybe its a bit more than just that, as I have come up with more than a few head cannons on my own about how things work. It is also a point of pride that this is a Vancouver-made show, because home town spirit!
Fluttershy is not best pony, but of the Mane Six, she is probably my favourite, as she seems the one most likely to give me the time of day with out making a huge deal of things. I am more the time to enjoy a quiet tea time than engage in an overly, elaborate party. When I first started drawing this, I was not aiming to make it a pony picture, but as I tweaked in and added features, I decided to make it our favourite docile mare trying to take a cool, private dip in the local pond; there is a bit of a heat wave going on now in Vancouver.. so I can understand the feeling.
Drawn on a Letter Sized piece of card stock, and inked with a collection of Microns and Sharpies, and finally coloured using pencil crayon. I never fully timed everything precisely, but I estimate my time on this to be approximately eight to eight and a half hours. I am going to be using this picture as a display piece at BronyCan this year, as I have a table; it would be nice to see if I could sell this, but I might just use it as a reference for what I can do to see if I can get a few bites of interest into commissions. I am also terrible at pricing things out, so how much do you think this is worth? I want to say $120CND or there about.
Well at any rate, I was just happy to get to work drawing again, not only that but actually fully finish a picture... it has been far too long. Expect more from me soon! (i hope). And please, feel free to like, comment, and watch!
