Derrick Cole Dragon
Derrick Cole - Part of the the Alpha Project that is being conducted in Terminus 4 at the Carter Science Center. Experiments of a new power found from an hidden location below the science center that has these lifeforms called T'lan that are manufactured there; The location itself appears to be of otherworldly technology and species not from Earth deemed "Site Zero". The T'lan poses promise for military use for super-soldiers but, drives their focus on test subjects to harness that power, from the lack of understanding of how the T'lan functions.
Here we have Derrick experiencing a form of the T'langen power called acceleration. He is the only one to be able to harness that power, from all of the other test subjects that have died from the subjugation. He has the power to stop the T'lan with his bare paws as he can break through the shields that are produced by them. But, is he ready to face the fate that is laid out before him... Will he understand that waking up from a dream can give him the chance to change fate!
I got the inspiration of making this drawing from playing Breakdown. I started on the outline of this in February 2023 (Well before I did the Lets Play of the game on the site). Like with most of the drawings that I have done before, I had major time to kill while being at work and decided to draw an outline of the reference image that the game promoted, with its game trailers; That is of Derrick standing in the mirror while experiencing the new powers that he has attained.
This is one of my pieces that I really tried to spend as much time on getting things the way that I would like it. This is also the first time of myself working with shading. I know that this could be a lot better and part of that is from having a learning curve of trying something new on a art program that I had for years but, never really used extensively. This is also, the first time that I have done art streams of this while it comes together. I don't know if the streaming is my cup of tea but, I didn't have an audience while working on this.
