Juro was born a simple farmer, but turmoil in Wash? in 1313 called him to combat and he was given the wakizashi Sumintetsu. Juro was mortally wounded but managed to hobble far enough from the combat that a random civilian family found and nursed him to health. Branded a traitor for deserting the battle- Juro hid his name and began mercenary work, protecting people who are unable to protect themselves. He lived a happy life secluded out in the forests where he attained an unshakable inner peace. Juro first met his fox Keiko when she was starving- offering her one of the fish he caught. She never left his side, and would eventually take up his sword to fight for the future he dreamed of.
When Keiko ascended to become a yokai- her powers manifested a blue magatama, that embodies Juro's aspect.
