KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS

I was still in Sierra's paws, just looking at where we are going.

I have been in her paws for a few hours already, pretty sure I'm far away from my home by now. But where are we going really?

I heard Sierra's wings flapping in the wind, just taking flight. I'll tell you something, never in my life that I would have thought I would be carried by a dragon. But I wish I could ride on her back, that would be exciting. The feeling of riding on top a dragon, up in the sky. Nobody wouldn't believe it, nobody.

My thoughts went to mom and dad again. I still can't believe this is happening. But of course this is all my fault, but I just wanted to get back home.

I mean I would have told Sierra where I was going, but she said to me before that she didn't trust me. Hell she still doesn't trust me! She thinks I'm just playing her feelings just to kill her! Or that I would  sneak away to get my dragon slayer friends, to help me kill her. At least that's how she would put it.

But at first I thought she wanted to kill me, but she didn't, why?

When I went in front of her face to see what happened to her and she had this sad and guilty look on her face, before she changed it. So...I wonder what was that all about?

Did she kill humans without mercy before? It's a possibility. I guess she didn't want to kill me because of that.

This is all my fault, that I'm in this mess. I should have stayed home instead of trying to expose her and I probably should have just stayed with her while I had the chance, instead of trying to run away from her again. What was I thinking?

I was thinking about my life and my family, that's what. Now my life is probably ruined. I had a sad look on my face while I was being carried. I looked down and saw that we were still high in the air.

I looked straight ahead and realized that we're heading to the mountains. I wonder what mountains?

Sierra shifted her body to her right in flight when we got closer to the mountains. Wonder what's so important about the mountains? She did say that's where her kind is staying. Guess they just love the mountains.

She was flying over the mountains now, the wind getting a little bit more intense. She flapped her wings hard and got out of the wind in time before she was blown away. Then she resumed her flight.

I looked up at her and yelled at the top of my lungs, "So where are we going?!"

She hollered over the wind, "Not far now!"

I looked straight ahead again and from a distance in the mountains I could see a vast forest. Lots of trees here and there. Sierra flew over them and kept flying. The wind from her wings, blew the top of the trees.

I was gonna ask her how far is this place and then suddenly the world started to shift. My vision started to make me feel dizzy while the world was being distorted. Then finally after thirty seconds, the world stopped shifting and then my eyes went wide when I could see where we are going in the mountains.

There's a great big stone city up ahead. Sierra flew over the skyline and when she saw a spot for her to land at the other side of the city, she dove to it.

Sierra glided downwards to the ground and when she got close to the ground she landed on her hind legs first. After she landed, she sat down on her haunches and then she put me down to the ground.

I looked around still astonished at the view of the city. I've never even heard of this place in the mountains. In between the mountains at least!

I looked at the great wall that surrounds the city, this place looks like a fortress made of stone.

Sierra trotted beside me and asked, "How was your flight?"

I stretched my legs, "Well I was getting a little bored riding in your paws."

She shot up her head, "Glad you still have your sense of humor."

I gestured my hand to the city, "What is this place?"

She looked at the city and said, "This is where my kind lives. This is the dragon city."

My face went wide and then I looked at her, "Wait? This place is where your kind lives? I've never even heard of this place."

She shook her head, "No human does. Only my kind knows it. In fact, that's what I mean when I said to you that no human would ever know where you are and you wouldn't escape and look for help."

I just stared at her. She's right. No one would ever look for me here, in these mountains, and no one would rescue me.

I'm on my own.

I looked down at the ground and then I said, "Sierra...I don't want to stay here."

She glared at me, "Sorry, but you're going to have to get used to it. YOU brought this upon yourself. So don't try to sweet talk your way out of this."

I looked at her face and pleaded, "Please. I can't stay here. Just...Just take me home! I won't tell anyone, I promise!"

She only said, "No."

My jaw dropped and then I sighed. It's no use, she won't let me go, until she says otherwise. What am I going to do? Nothing absolutely nothing.

Before we could do anything, we both heard a roar in a distance. And we heard another one, and another, and another...

My eyes went wide, and I said to myself, "Well....Shit." That's when I started to hear wings flapping and they were getting closer. I looked up and gasped.

I saw three dragons flying to us when they were getting ready for a landing. All three of them landed in front of me and Sierra. The wind from their wings flapping low to the ground, started blowing dust and I shielded my eyes with my arms. The dust finally cleared and I could see clearly at them.

The dragons colors are different than Sierra's, their scales are not bright blue. Their colors are different for each of them. One's red, one's black, and the third one is green. Each of them had different style of horns than Sierra's. They also wore some kind of armor on them. Made to be fit even for a dragon. They even wore helmets.

I tilted my head. God this is all new to me, I feel like I'm dreaming right now. But I'm not and those are REAL dragons in armor.

The one in red put his paws to his head and removed the helmet and lowered it to the ground. Then the dragon went to Sierra and talked to her with a serious tone, "What's your business here?" Judging by the sound of his voice, he's a male.

Sierra said with authority, "Officer, I came here because I belong here. You see I was born here years ago."

The red dragon cocked his head and then he smiled, "Wait a second, I know you. I've seen you before."

Sierra grinned at him, "It has been a long time, old friend."

Sierra and the red dragon laughed and then they actually hugged each other. Their forearms and wings wrapping around each other.

I just stared at them, my face just full of surprise. Wow, they...Know each other. Well of course they know each other, Wayne! Sierra has been here before.

The two dragons finally pulled away from their embrace and then the red dragon said with a smile still on his face, "I thought I would never see you again! Where have you been? It's been such a long time!"

Sierra nodded, "TOO long if you ask me. Though I can't be certain, how long anyways."

The red dragon giggled, "Ah well, it's still good to see you. So...Has the human world changed much?"

Sierra then put on a serious face, "Actually, that's why I'm here." Then she looked at me and the red dragon followed her gaze and hissed at me.

That's when the red dragon's friends came to me and I gasped and raised my hands in defense, "Hey wait a minute!" I backed away from them.

Sierra shouted, "Wait!" Then she stood in front of me, to stop them from coming after me, "He's my minion."

Even though she was looking at them, I still glared at her. Minion! Sheesh, couldn't come up with a better term than that!

The red dragon got in front of his friends to face Sierra, "Are you crazy? You know that no humans are allowed here."

Sierra nodded, "I know. But I've met him recently, and he doesn't have a home. You see...His kind is after them. He was a prisoner to them and he ran away from them, until he found me. So I took him in and he became my minion."

The red dragon sneered at her, "Are you kidding me?! Humans are dangerous! They're killers!"

Sierra shook her head, "He won't kill anyone. I'll make sure of that."

The red dragon shouted at her, "I've lost my family ages ago, because of them!!"

She shouted back, "And so have I!!!"

I gasped when they said all that. This isn't going very well at all.

Sierra softened her look and sighed, "Look the humans are really after him, and he's my minion now. He always does what I say, and he never argues. I only brought him here, to keep him safe."

The red dragon then said, "Can I talk to you....Alone?" Then he glared at me.

My face went wide. God, does every dragon hate me?

Sierra looked at me and then she looked back at her friend, "Alright, lets talk." She looked down at me and said, "You stay right there." Then she and her red friend went away from me and the other two dragons to talk alone.

I stared up at the two dragons who are with me, I put up a smile and said, "So uh...Nice night, huh?" Then I giggled shyly.

The black and green dragons both glared down at me and then one of them started talking to his friend in a different language. Their own language, I'm sure that's what it is. The way he talks to his friend, is though a lot of hisses and grunts. His friend talked to him in the same language.

I just stood there, watching them. I didn't have to take ten guesses that they're just talking about me. Hell they probably never met a human before....Or did they?

While I was staring at them, Sierra and her red friend came back and then the red dragon talked to them in his own language as well to his buddies. The two dragons who were looking after me looked at their friend with wide eyes and then the red dragon hissed again.

Sierra went to me and lowered her head to my level and whispered, "You're good to go. You can come inside the city now."

I just shrugged, "Didn't really know I have to ask permission."

Sierra bore a serious look, "Lets just say, they don't trust you."

I glared at her and whispered, "Tell me something I don't know!"

The red dragon was done talking to his lackeys and went to me in my language, "Alright, you can come in the city. But just remember, if you try anything to hurt us-"

I interrupted him, "Then you'll kill me, yeah I got it."

The red dragon glared at me, "Talk back to me like that again, and I'll kill you."

I glared at him and put my hands to my hips, "Oh really?"

Sierra looked down at me, "Hush minion!" Then she looked at her friend again, "Alright lets go."

The three dragons led me and Sierra to us to the city. We were all close to the big giant gate that's in the wall that surrounds the city. The giant gate opened with a loud noise and we all went in the city.

The giant gate closed behind us and then I looked around and saw that we're in the streets of the city.

I looked at the buildings and my eyes went wide when I began to realize that this city holds stores and restaurants just like my kinds do. Man dragons can operate stores and restaurants? This is...Strange. They have their own civilization.

Sierra nudged me with her nose and then I kept walking. We were all walking through the streets, but the difference between my kinds city and theirs is, there are no cars here. But we do.

I looked around while I was walking with them and could see that this place has more dragons than I could imagine. At around every corner, there's another dragon with a different color. Well a lot of them are mostly blue, black, red, and green. But god there are a lot of them!

The building around me are made of stone. Not made of concrete. Compare to the buildings back at home. This makes me feel like I'm living in a different time.

After we walked passed several buildings in the streets, we finally came across from what it looks like a motel for dragons. The big stone building really holds a lot of them, by the looks of it.

The red dragon and his friends stopped in front of us and then the red dragon used his wing tip to point at the entrance to the motel, "This is where you'll be staying."

I shrugged and asked sarcastically, "Do I have to pay to live here?"

The red dragon glared down at me, "You know old friend, your minion needs to learn some manners."

Sierra nodded and sternly said, "I've told you, I'll handle him." Then she glared down at me and said, "Minion learn some manners!"

I glared right back and raised my hands in the air and muttered, "Whatever."

Sierra grinned, "That's good enough for me." Then she looked at the red dragon and said, "Alright, I'll talk to you later, old friend."

The red dragon grinned, "Let me guess, you don't want to say my name in front of your minion?"

Sierra shrugged, "He wouldn't understand it, also he wouldn't pronounce it."

The red dragon and his pals laughed, then he said, "Well in that case, he's got a lot of learning to do."

Sierra giggled, "Yeah, of course he does. Anyways, talk later and good night." Then me and her went inside the motel.

*****

Me and Sierra were walking into a big hallway in the motel, lots of rooms with dragons in them.

Me and Sierra went to one of our rooms and me and her went inside it. There's actually no door here, just a big round hole, big enough for a dragon to fit through. Come to think of it, all the rooms are like that.

I walked into the room and looked around. A basic human room is small. But this room is big!

Lots of furs are in the middle of the room. A big mirror on one side and at the other side, there's a balcony outside cause we're on the third floor.

I whirled around and grinned, "Boy your kind really do have nice places."

She glared at me.

I lost my grin immediately, "What? You're not still mad about tonight, are you?"

Sierra still had her glare, and said, "You know Wayne, you can pretend it didn't happen all you want. But it did, and I don't trust you for a sec now."

Then I had an apologetic look, "Look I said I'm sorry, what more do you need?"

Then she shouted, "Until I say so! Until I can be sure if I can trust you, you better behave! This is your last chance and I suggest you take it....HUMAN."

I shouted back at her, "And I've told you before, I'm not evil and I never will be! I was never planning to kill you!"

She shot up her head, "Oh we'll see about that!" Then she whirled around, I ducked down her tail barely missed my head and she said, "I'm going to my room, since this one's yours, I suggest you get comfy. Now good night." And with that she walked out into the hallway and left me here in MY room alone.

I just stood there, just still contemplating my fate here. I may never leave here. I'll never go home.

I walked to the pile of furs and I laid on them. They're pretty soft, those dragons really know how to sleep. I stared out at the balcony window, the moonlight shining through it.

That's when I sat up on the furs and thought about my life. The life before I came here.

I wrapped my arms around my legs and tucked them close to me. Mom, dad, I'm sorry I've left you.

My eyes started to water. Joanna...What am I going to do? I might never go back home. Sierra doesn't trust me and she won't let me go. Maybe she'll never let me go. I'll never leave. Not ever, EVER.

Then I broke down and cried into my legs.

*****

I was sleeping and with a yawn I woke up. I got up on all fours and stretched. My claws digging into the dirt. I shook my head and looked up at the beautiful morning sky. I smiled, today is a wonderful day.

I walked through the woods for a few minutes and walked out of them.

I was now in a meadow, on my way to my friends house.

That's when I could see smoke in the distance. I gasped and muttered, "No."

I flapped my wings and took to the skies. I flew to the source of the smoke which it wasn't far away now. My face was full of fear and concern. No....No, no, god no.

I flew as fast as I could until I could see the house from up here. I gasped again, realizing that it's on fire!

I flew over the house. Flying over the smoke and flames.

I landed close to the house and now I just stood there. Watching the flames consume the house.

My eyes went wider and my blood went colder than before. No he can't be gone! He can't....

As I stared at the house on fire with tears in my eyes, I said, "No....Eric."

That's when I woke up and gasped. I rose my head from the furs and was breathing heavily.

Eric....

Then I realized that it was just a dream, just...Another nightmare. About him.

Eric....Oh Eric.

My eyes were about to water when I was thinking about him. I looked down at the floor, "I...I'm sorry." Then I looked at the crystal pendant that I've brought with me last night.

I tried to forget him for years. But I always remember him. I can never let him go.

I looked down at the floor after I had a glance at the pendant, then I buried my head in my paws and started sobbing.

Eric...I'm sorry, Eric.

*****

After about an hour of staying in my room, I've decided to get up from my furs and go meet my human minion.

I giggled to myself. I've never had a minion before. Boy I can't wait to see everyone here in the city won't believe that a human is now living among us.

Then I stopped in my tracks and thought about Wayne. That's when I had a guilty look on my face.

Wayne...What am I doing? I shouldn't do this to him. This is...Wrong. Wayne's right this is wrong. I shouldn't treat him like this.

I shook my head from those thoughts and put on an angry face. No! You can't let your feelings get in the way of what's right. You shouldn't trust him, he tried to escape from you while you were sleeping! For all things considering, he could be a dragon slayer! You should never trust him!

I sighed to myself. But still maybe I should go a little easy on him. He seems to be traumatized. I took him away from his home, because I didn't trust him. You know I'll think about it later. Lets just see how the day goes.

I went back to walking to Wayne's room. When I arrived, I could see he was already awake. He was sitting on the furs. And when he heard me coming, he looked up at me.

He still didn't look happy from last night, and only muttered, "Good morning." Then he looked down at the floor.

I sat down on my haunches in front of him and said, "Good morning to you as well. So...How was your sleep here?"

He didn't look up at me, "I'm fine."

Suddenly I feel sorry for him. But then I also remember, to not let my guard down. That's when I've decided to take it easy on him bit and said, "Listen Wayne. I know I've told you that you're my minion, but you don't have to stay here. In fact, you don't have to follow me around as well. You may come and go as you please."

Wayne finally looked up at me, "What?"

I narrowed my eyes at him, "You can wander around in the city if you want. You don't have to stay here and follow me around. You can at least enjoy yourself. Just don't start any trouble here, got it?"

Wayne nodded and said, "Ok."

And with that I whirled around on him and said, "Good. Now I'm going somewhere in the city. I'll find you later." Then I walked out in the hallway and left him alone in his room.

*****

When I had left Wayne alone, I've decided to find the family that I've have left.

After I had asked a few dragons around, I finally found out where to find him.

Turns out he now lives in a temple in the middle of the city. He now preaches to all the dragons who needed wisdom. Wisdom from our ancestors.

I finally found the temple and cocked my head, pretty old place. But of course this place has been around for ages. I walked up the tall staircase. When I made it to the top, I went through the entrance of the temple.

No one was in the temple except for one dragon. A blue dragon who has a little bit of grey on his scales.

I smiled when I saw him and walked up behind him. I said, "Hello uncle."

My uncles head jerked up and he whirled around to face me. His face went wide when he saw me, "Niece?"

I nodded, "It has been such a long time."

Then my uncle beamed and he wrapped his arms and wings around me to hug me.

I nuzzled his neck while he hugged me, "I...I really miss you."

He pulled away and he sat down on his haunches and smiled, "Been a long time, is an understatement! Where have you been all these year?"

I shrugged, "Honestly I couldn't tell you. I've lost count of all the years."

My uncle laughed, "Well so have I! I've lost count too, trying to count all the years that you've been gone."

I laughed as well, "Well great. I'm not the only one."

My uncle said, "So how long have you been back here?"

I answered, "Since last night. This place hasn't changed much at all."

He shook his head, "It never does." Then he giggled.

I giggled along with him and then he had a serious look on his face, "Well I have heard that a dragon has came here last night, but the dragon came here with a human. I have to ask, did you bring a human here?"

I sighed and then I nodded, "Yes. It's a long story."

My uncle groaned and he put a paw to his face, "Arrrg, niece. I can't believe it. Why did you do it? Why did you bring a human in this city? You know that humans don't belong here."

I nodded, "I know, but like I said, it's a long story. And...You're not going to believe it."

My uncle narrowed his eyes at me, "I'm listening."

*****

I wandered around in the city for a while. After Sierra left me alone.

I can't believe it. I thought that Sierra would force me to follow her wherever she goes. But she decided to let me enjoy myself. Like letting me do whatever's fun here.

Now that I think about it, she seemed to look guilty, judging by her eyes. I wonder if she feels guilty for bringing me here against my will. Hell I would be.

But then I've decided to give her some slack, maybe she does feel bad. Maybe she's willing to give me a chance. I smiled to myself. I hope she will, then maybe I'll go home.

While I was on the streets in the dragon city, I could feel that I'm being watched. My eyes wondered to several dragons who stare at me, everywhere I go. I could tell that they don't really trust me. I mean I know how they would feel, I wouldn't want a human invading their territory.

I kept on walking, trying not to stare back at the wondering eyes and then I've found my way into some kind of park. I could tell it's a park, cause there's grass here.

I walked into the park, since there seems to be not a lot of dragons here. I sat down on the ground near a lake, and stared at my own reflection. I didn't know what I wanted to do here. I feel like I'm an outcast here.

A human living among dragons. Thad doesn't sound like a very good combination. I just wish I knew what to do.

I was just sitting on the ground still when I heard a voice behind me, "Excuse me?"

I looked back over my shoulder and saw a little dragon behind me. A male dragon. He's smaller compare to the other dragons that I've seen so far. Judging by how tall he is, his head would reach my shoulders. His color is green, darkish green like the leaves from the forest. I'm guessing he's young, that's why he's small.

I got up on my feet and said, "Yes?"

The dragon beamed at me, "Oh the ancestors! Are you really a human?"

My eyes went wide, "Uh...Yeah."

The small dragon said, "Well what do you know. I've heard about all the studies about humans, but I never thought I would meet one! This is a dream come true!"

I giggled and rubbed the back of my neck. Oh boy, I have a fan. That's when I said, "Well it's nice to meet you, uh..."

The small dragons face went wide and said, "Oh I forgot to tell you my name! Well I'm sure you wouldn't understand it, but hey still it's really nice to meet you."

I giggled again and shrugged, "Aren't you suppose to glare at me? I mean I thought that every dragon would hate me."

The dragon shook his head, "Oh no, I don't hate you. Why would you think that I would hate you?"

I shrugged again, "I don't know, because I'm a human."

The dragon laughed and said, "Well I don't see the problem with that!"

I had a curious look, "Wait? You don't think I'm...Dangerous?"

He cocked his head, "Dangerous? Oh well I have heard that humans are dangerous. Like dragon slayers. But you don't seem to look like one."

I frowned, "Did you meet one?"

The dragon shook his head and let out a small chuckle, "Oh heavens no. If I did, I would die!"

My face went wide and then I giggled, "Ah...Right."

The small dragon then cocked his head, "So...What are you doing in the park?"

I shook my head, "I don't really know what I'm doing. I mean, I've never even been in a...Dragon city before."

The small dragon grinned, "Well since I'm not doing classes today, maybe I could give you a tour, maybe introduce you to some dragons. Make you feel welcome here."

I smiled at him, "Really?"

The small dragon beamed, "Sure! Mister...?"

I said, "Wayne. My name's Wayne."

The dragon frowned, "Wayne? What a strange name. But it's in your language, so I respect it."

I giggled at that statement and said to him, "Thank you."

The small dragon grinned and said, "Alright well, follow me." Then he trotted off and I followed him. Letting him give me a tour of this city.

Hmmm, this guy seems okay. He's young just like me. That I can probably relate to.

*****

The small dragon took me on a tour for a long time. He tried to introduce me to a few dragons, but none of them wanted to have anything to do with me. I don't blame them, they probably think I'm some kind of dragon slayer.

I sighed. This is REALLY going to be harder than I thought. But hey at least the small green dragon in front of me is being a real chap about it. Apparently not a negative thing gets to him.

I smiled when I followed him. This guy really seems okay. I mean he doesn't seem threatening to me. Hell he hasn't made any threats to me like Sierra did.

My thoughts went onto Sierra. I wonder what she's up to? Probably telling everyone that I'm her minion I suppose.

I shook my head. You know what? I'm not going to let a negative thing get to me. I'm going to try to have a good time.

Me and the small green dragon walked on the street, he said he was hungry and I've told him I was too. He said that he knows good place to eat and now he's taking me to that place.

Wait? Why do dragons have restaurants? Don't they usually hunt? Hmmm, perhaps they can be civilized as well. Maybe I'll find out how they serve food, like if they do it like humans do it.

The small dragon stopped in the middle of the street and said, "This is it!" I trotted until I was standing beside him and followed his gaze.

It looked liked a fancy restaurant. I liked the decor outside in the front and the big wooden sign that's dangling outside said, THE BRAVEHEART

I said the words out loud, "The Braveheart."

The dragon beside me nodded, "Yeah. This place is amazing! The food's great and the drinks here are great too! Usually when I'm not doing anything, I eat here. It's amazing!"

I laughed and then I said, "Well I guess I'm going in there with you." But before I could take a step, a question popped in my mind, "Wait? Don't we need money to pay for the food?"

The dragon nodded, "Yeah, but don't worry I have some." He was carrying a wool sack that's around his shoulder and he reached in it and pulled out some coins. I looked at the coins and realized it wasn't the currency I'm used to. Their currency is different than mine!

Wow they even earn money for whatever they do here. This is...Interesting.

The dragon nudged me with his head and said, "Well, you coming? Lets go!" Then he trotted in the restaurant. I didn't hesitate and followed after him.

When I went inside my eyes went wide when I saw that the inside is better than the outside. Several tables and booths made for dragons are everywhere. This place almost looks like a human five star restaurant! I see several customers in here. And from what I can see from where I'm at, I could see that this place has some sort of stage. At least I think it's a stage.

My green friend was hollering for me and I shook my head and said, "Coming!" Then I stood beside him.

We were waiting near the entrance for a waiter or waitress of some sorts and finally we could see a dragon whose scales are colored magenta. Pretty beautiful in my opinion. The dragon was about the same size as the other here. All tall and big like Sierra. The dragon came to a stop in front of us and gave us a smile, when it spoke it sounded like a female like an old woman, "Welcome to the Braveheart. Table for two?"

The small green dragon looked up at her and smiled, "Yes, for me and the human here!" He used his wing tip and pointed it at me.

I gave her a small smile and waved, "Hello."

The magenta female dragon said, "Ah, so you must be the human I've been hearing about. Hmmm, haven't really seen one in ages. And I was younger when I last saw one."

I raised my hands to defend myself, "I don't want any trouble."

The magenta dragon smiled, "Oh you're not in trouble. I know you're a human, but all customers are exactly the same to me. I won't think differently about you. And I take it you must be hungry?"

I smiled at her and said, "Well thank you! And yes I'm hungry. I haven't ate anything all day."

She gave out a old hearty laugh, "Well then this is the right place to eat. After all I'm the owner and the waitress here. So you can come here anytime you want." Then she looked at the small green dragon and said, "So, the usual for you?"

He nodded, "Please."

The old magenta dragon said, "Alright, follow me to your table." Then she whirled around, me and my green friend ducked low to dodge her tail. Me and him followed her afterwards. God why can't anyone watch their freakin tail?! She almost took my head off!

She led us to our table and me and my small green friend took our seats. Apparently there are two different kinds of seats here. Seats for the tall dragons and the ones for the small dragon. Including humans like me. But hey it's better than nothing.

The magenta dragon waitress looked at me and handed me a menu, wow they even have menus! And  she said, "I'll give you a few minutes to decide." Then she went off to another customer.

I looked at the menu and found it pretty funny that even dragons know how to make a menu and organize it! My family would never believe this, no one would believe this!

The small green dragon said, "So? You like this place so far?"

I nodded, "Yeah this place is great! But I haven't eat anything here yet."

He grinned at me, "Trust me, you'll like the food."

I smiled back at him. And then I looked at the stage and then I asked him, "Is that a stage up there?"

The small dragon nodded, "Yep. You see, that stage up there is for singing. You see sometimes customers get up that stage and they usually sing here."

My eyes went wide, "Dragons actually sing?"

He laughed and nodded, "Of course we sing! What do you think we are idiots?"

I shook my head, "No, it's just I didn't know you do that kind of stuff. I mean I don't see a microphone up there so how does the audience in here, hear you sing?" They probably roar in here I suppose.

The dragon cocked his head and said, "I don't know what a microphone is. But you see there's this magical gem on stage that can help you make your voice loud and all that. And also too, the gem can also help you find out which music you want by reading your thoughts. And everyone can hear the music here."

My face went wide. No way it can do that?! A gem that can read my thoughts and everyone can hear the music. And also make my voice loud so everyone in here can hear it. That's pretty freakin cool!

The magenta waitress came back and she smiled at me, "So did you find anything you want?"

I nodded and said, "Actually, can I have the vegetable soup?" Hell even I was shocked that even dragons eat vegies. I mean what else do I not know about them?!

The magenta waitress beamed at me, "You got it."

Before she left I noticed something wasn't on her, "Hey wait, you didn't have a notepad to write down my order. I mean you might forget what I've ordered."

The old female dragon laughed, "Oh I won't forget and I don't need to write something down. You see, us dragons have very sharp memories. We always remember our customers orders."

My jaw dropped. Ok, that's another thing I didn't know about them. This is getting more interesting by the minute.

The magenta waitress said, "I'll be back with your orders." Then she trotted away.

I smiled while I was watching her. She seems nice as well. Haven't threatened me at all.

Then twelve minutes later, she came back with our orders. I got the vegetable soup as promised and the small green dragon here has some kind of steak in front of him. And it's cooked! Hey better than what Sierra eats. Apparently she usually eats her meat RAW.

I started to dig in the soup. Of course I was lucky that they actually have some silverware. Or else I was going to have to eat like everyone else here. With my mouth and hands. And I didn't want to eat the soup with my hands. I would have used my mouth, but the soup seems too hot for my chin to get close.

I took the first bite out of that soup and I smiled. Savoring the taste of the soup, "Mmmm, tastes really good."

The small green dragon beamed at me, "Good!" Then he went back to eating his food.

We both ate our food and then my green friend paid for the food with the coins that he has. The magenta dragon waitress said to us, "You have a wonderful day!"

I waved at her and then me and my green friend left. That old female dragon seems really okay.

We walked outside, still full from all the food we ate. I have to say it's a lot better than the food I usually eat.

While me and the small green dragon walked on the sidewalk away from the restaurant. Someone's tail came around the corner and then my foot tripped on it. I fell face first to the ground and landed on my stomach.

After I fell I could hear laughter behind me. Someone did this on purpose! I slammed my hands on the ground in frustration and got up on my feet real fast like. The small dragon saw what happened and he tried to stop me from confronting whoever did it. But I brushed him off. The tail came from a nearby alley. I went around the corner and saw two big dragons giggling. One was red and the other one is yellow.

I angrily said to them, "Something funny?"

The yellow dragon who is female said, "Yeah seeing a human fall on the ground is funny." Then she giggled again.

I shouted at them, and tightened both my hands into fists, "You want me to fuck you up?!"

The red dragon who is male glared down at me, "And how're you suppose to do that to us? How's a weakling like you going to fight us? You certainly have a backbone."

The small green dragon glared up at him and said, "I won't let you hurt him."

The big red dragon laughed at my green friend, "And how is a another weakling like YOU going to fight us?"

That's when all of us heard a voice, "If you want to fight someone, fight me." It came from behind me and my green friend and we both whirled around and saw that Sierra finally came from wherever she came from.

I said out loud, "Sierra."

Sierra glared at me, "Hush minion."

The red dragon behind me taunted her, "Sierra? Is that what he calls you? Does that mean he's starting to care about you? Or does that mean you're starting to care about HIM?"

Sierra turned her fiery gaze onto him, "Keep it up kid and see what happens."

The red dragon shot back, "Humans don't belong here! You've made a big mistake of bringing him here!"

Sierra shouted back at him, "At least I don't show off my balls to your mate here! Now get the hell out of my sight! Or else otherwise, I'll add some scars to your soon to be not so handsome face."

The red dragons face went wide and then he growled at her and me, "Next time you won't be so LUCKY." Then he and his mate whirled around on us and walked away.

Sierra glared at me after they left and said, "Minion, what did I say about not causing trouble?"

I looked up at her with shock, "What?! I didn't start it, they did!"

She shook her head, "Doesn't matter. I won't tolerate it. Now I want you to get back to the motel with me now."

That's when I argued, "Screw you! I'm not going anywhere with you!"

Sierra shouted, "Minion! How dare you disobey me!? You better do it or...Do you want me to tear off your leg and you can hobble only on one leg for the rest of your life?"

My eyes went wide and then I sighed and nodded, "Fine. I'll go." Then I walked past her and went on my way to the motel.

The small green dragon protested, "Pardon me, but I think you're being a little unfair to him."

Sierra glared at him now, "I know what I'm doing." Then she saw someone and I followed her gaze. She was staring at another dragon. This dragon looked old and it's bright blue just like Sierra. Sierra saw me looking at her and then she glared at me, "Well? Lets go minion. Chop, chop!" Then she used her paw to give me a spank on my butt.

I yelped in surprise and grabbed my butt. Ow! That kinda hurt! I shot her a glare and then I kept walking. Knowing she's putting on an act in front of everyone. To show everyone that I'm her minion and she's my master.

So might as well play along, for now.

*****

Me and Sierra came back to the motel to my room and then I whirled around and I glared at her, "What did you think you were doing?"

Sierra angrily answered, "To teach you some respect to my kind. You know you weren't suppose to cause a fight with someone."

I shouted at her, "I didn't do anything! They started it!"

She shouted back, "I'm trying to regain your trust, but so far you haven't done a great job. I wondering if I can."

I yapped, "You know what? I've had it! I can't take anymore of this."

She cocked her head at me, "Excuse me? What does that mean?"

I said, "Sierra, you're treating me as a slave, not as a friend. Listen I know what I've done to you before we came here was wrong and I'm sorry, but this is no excuse. This isn't right and you know it, but you choose not to see it."

Sierra shot up her head, "Ha! You think your pleading efforts will work on me. You wanna try telling me what I want to hear and lie to me like you did before? I'm not falling for it again."

I let out a frustrated growl, "God you know what, I'm sick and tired of your bull crap! If you really don't care about me, then just freakin say it already!"

She lowered her head down to my level and glared at me and said, "I don't TRUST you. And I don't LIKE you now."

That's when I did the unthinkable to her. While he head was close to mine, I raised my hand and slapped her sensitive nose hard. She cried out, "OW!" Then she sat down on her haunches to grab her nose. Her eyes watering. She let go of her nose and shouted, "You little bastard that hurt!"

I shouted back, "You damn right that had to hurt! And you were the one who slapped my ass hard and I'm a guy! And trust me it still hurts. Now I'll be having a giant red paw print on my ass."

She growled at me, "You slapped my nose!"

I yapped back, "You slapped my ass!"

"YOU SLAPPED MY DAMN NOSE!"

"YOU SLAPPED MY FUCKING ASS!!"

We both glared at each other for a long time and then she finally relented and angrily said, "You know what human? You certainly have balls. I'll give you that. But you're just a lying, cheating human who doesn't care about anything, but himself. I've never should have left you alone. I regret it now. You've caused that fight today and now you're trying to get out of trouble that you've caused. You're a coward and I'm tired of it."

I shouted at her, "So you'd rather believe the dragon who started it, instead of me!? What kind of a friend are you?!"

She shouted back at me, "Why won't you be honest just this once!? You're a liar! If you were my friend, then you would tell me the truth! Just like HE would!"

I shrugged, "Who are you talking about?!"

She snarled, "None of your damn business! If I were you, you stay here! Now have a good afternoon, HUMAN!" She finally whirled around and she was too fast for me, cause when she whirled around pretty fast, her tail actually hit me in the head and knocked me to the ground. I cried out in pain.

I looked up in time to see Sierra actually stop at the doorway with some concern and regret in her eyes. Then she walked off when I looked at her.

I let out a grrr, and then I got up after she hit me with her tail. I angrily went to the pile of furs in my room and I tossed one real hard against the wall, "Damn it!" After I did that I sat down on the ground and looked at the balcony window.

I reached into my pocked and pulled out the photo of me and Joanna before she died. I brought that with me from my house for good luck. Apparently I was right, it was for good luck and I'm still alive.

I sighed when I looked at Joanna. Remembering what she said to me before about not giving up. You're right Joanna. I can't give up yet, I can't.

I looked out the window and then finally I came up with an idea. I won't give up now. I won't let that dragon control my life. I don't belong here. I have to get home.

If the dragon doesn't care about me, then why should I care?

I will get home.

I'm going to escape from this city tonight.
