My fan art homage to Akira Tokiyama. Savage Shark wearing the Saiyajin Armor, growing ever more excited for the fight.
After hearing about Tokiyama's passing last night, I started doing a lot of thinking on how much Dragon Ball Z has inspired me. It was my first introduction not only to anime, but helped me expand my art. I emulated the style, studied anatomy, action poses and angles, visual effects, character design & world building. Many of my characters from middle school to present are all inspired by dragon ball z.
Much like Goku training for his epic battles, I felt like I was training myself too become stronger and more comfortable with my style and getting myself out there.
I may not be as strong as Goku or Vegeta now. But I can beat up Krillain, Tien and Yamcha.
