A moment from "Death's Blood" chapter 34.
I was indecisive on which moment to draw as there's a lot happening. My first choice would've made for a spoiler. This was my second choice: Lady Death and Nadine when their fight is over. I gave them both a stern look. The difference is that I want Nadine to seem to waver, as if she thinks "I know I'm dead". I put a little thought into the figures, showing curves on Lady Death and giving Nadine sharp points. Referring to pictures of brick walls at night, I went for a purple, pink, and blue palette.
I made this final on the afternoon of October 6, 2021. I drew the figures with a pencil, most of which I erased. Inked with a gel pen and a fountain pen. Coloured with pencil crayons, markers, watercolour pencils, and a wet brush. I listened to Kimeru: Pollux, and then the BEASTARS soundtrack. I drank coffee and ate a banana and sugar cookies. On this, I spent 82 minutes, start-to-finish.
