The Duality of Assassins
I really wanted to draw Death and Vadimir fighting the first time, though I went with them just engaging. I might be soon, too, to have something like this. I didn't even know what kind of ground I wanted them on. To get Vadimir's pose, I referred to my drawing of him from last year. Getting Vadimir's cane right was tricky. One thing I could have retried was making Vadimir's arms look wider from his muscle.
I drew the figures with pencil, most of which is erased in the colouring process. I drew Vadimir first, and then Death; I coloured Vadimir first, and then Death. Inking was with a fountain pen and HandyArt ink. I coloured with pencil crayons, markers, a watercolour pencil, and a wet brush. Eating an apple and then a bit of fruit salad, and listening to Within Temptation: Hydra, I spent 90 minutes on this, start-to-finish.
