Ashar Reference by TheOwlette (Commission)
Ashar's been around for a while, now, but he never had a true reference to solidify his markings and show them from every angle. So perhaps this was a bit overdue, but now here it is! This is a commission drawn by TheOwlette, who has really done him justice here! A quick bio below:
Ashar is a stylish dragon, and he knows it. He is proud, confident, and an irrepressible showoff, but thankfully he prefers to get attention via a display of his coloration or his skillful acrobatics instead of boasting. Actions speak louder than words, after all, and his actions quite plainly show that he is extremely swift both on foot and on the wing, with the skill, balance and dexterity necessary to perform all sorts of impressive, mostly unnecessary maneuvers. Though he can come across as arrogant, especially when discussing any sort of flying or racing or aerobatics, he is typically friendly, easygoing and playful, and he aims to please and laugh and have a good time. He'd rather talk things out than fight (fighting might leave scars, which might not look flattering on his hide), but doesn't back down from a challenge, and has the cunning to put his speed to good use in a duel.
To his dismay, his skillful flying has attracted the attention of nearby humans, rather than just his fellow dragons, and from time to time he finds himself sought after and forcibly 'recruited' as a mount or a courier. He loathes being under saddle or bridle, but thankfully the humans never hold him against his will for long--so far--and compensate him with gold or gems each time to make up for forcing him into service. It's not an arrangement he's happy about or proud of in the least, and he wishes he could find a reliable way to keep them from ambushing him in his cave, but at least it's helping to grow his hoard.
Though Ashar has been old enough to take a mate for a few years, he doesn't think he's ready to settle down and start a family yet. He has his eyes on a few dragonesses, and some eyes on him in return, but for now would prefer merely to have the occasional energetic romp with a pretty lady instead of thinking about eggs.
