KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS

‘Cammy…’ I said softly in my head as I looked back at Electra, who was standing there with both paws over her mouth as she stared back at me, her tail laying flat on the floor behind her.

“There’s more of them inside, GO!” Someone shouted, only it sounded muffled, as if they were wearing a mask or a helmet or something.

Turning back toward the door, I narrowed my eyes as I ran at it, dashing outside into the hallway. Expecting an attack, I quickly jumped up against the wall and pushed off of it with all fours, twisting around and using my hind legs and tail to push off completely, propelling me back inside the room. As soon as I turned back around toward the doorway to see the outcome, another long black object came flying by.

Only I wasn’t out there. It missed by a mile.

“Did you fucking see that?” Someone asked.

“I threw it at the fucking thing of course I saw!” Someone else shouted.

“That thing went too fast for me to even make out what it was!”

“It was the same thing as the other one, only much faster it seems.” Someone else said.

I flicked my ears a few times as I listened to them talking,

“It SEEMS?” Someone yelled. “Damn right it seems! That thing is like a fucking bullet!”

“Then let’s fight fire with fire. We’re using bullets too then.”

“I’m fine with fighting fire with fire, but just keep in mind that the fire department usually uses water.”

“Shut up smartass.”

I could tell all of the voices were coming from the right. They all seemed to either be echoing off of the walls or just plain coming from the right. There were little to no noises at all coming from the left side. I was about to confront them when I realized I accidentally mixed up my directions and the right was actually the left. That probably wouldn’t have turned out too well.

With my directions in the proper order this time, I made a second dash into the hallway. I heard them saying something about bullets, so I had an iron tail already pre-charged behind me, just waiting to be… Activated if that’s what you want to call it. Used.

This time I planned to stay out there, and as soon as I turned to the left my eyes locked right onto the weapons they had in their hands.

They were each wielding automatic weapons.

“UNLOA-” someone shouted. But that’s all I heard. In the back of my head flashed this image. A blue image of my surroundings. What I mainly saw was what I couldn’t actually see with my eyes. I saw everything above me, everything to the sides of me, everything behind me, and everything inbetween. It was a quick flash. But it was enough for me to accurately make out every single detail of everything in the stretch of hallway I was in, including what was behind the five humans that stood and knelt there in front of me wielding automatic weapons. Thankfully there was nothing there, but I couldn’t say the same thing about the other directions.

My heart had already been beating fast just due to the fact that this was, in a way, kind of exactly like a battle scene. Only the loser dies or gets killed by the enemy. It was beating even faster now that I realized how serious this situation really was. Kind of like a hardcore Pokémon match. Only the difference here was that the match only lasted a split second, and Pokémon weren’t exactly known for their ability to fire bullets out of their fingertips or something. Okay maybe they are, but let’s exclude bullet seeds because really, those are kind of just seeds shaped like bullets that also happen to travel really fast and poke holes in stuff.

However, as the image of my surroundings flashed into my head, everything began to slow down. And not slowly either, it just happened in a split second. One second I was standing there in the hallway and the next everything seemed to be in slow motion, with images of things I couldn’t even see flashing right in my face. I completely bypassed the thought that I now had much more time to think, and moved on to the next thought, which was carrying out the plan I originally had. Only I saw immediately that that wasn’t exactly going to be possible now.

That image that popped into my head revealed something to be on the ceiling. Directly overhead.

‘If I carry out my plan now I get snatched up. Stabbed, shot, whatever that psycho up there wants to do to me.’ I thought.

However…

Without even thinking any further I darted to the left, leaping into the air and pushing up off of the wall in front of me. I leapt over to the wall on the right and did the same. After pushing off of the wall twice, I was now able to reach the ceiling, which is exactly what I did. I only really needed to probably take one large leap straight up, or only jump off of the wall once to achieve the same goal, but I figured I’d show off while I was at it and do it the complicated looking way instead of the simple “leap straight up and grab at stuff” method. As soon as I reached the ceiling my claws latched onto one of the lights. I swung myself a little as I executed my iron tail attack. There was a loud metallic clank as I used the flat edge of my tail to smack the gun out of the man’s hands that was suspended on the ceiling. The gun flew out of his hands, a loud crackling noise echoing through the hall as the neck strap the gun was tied to was suddenly jerked, snapping the man’s neck in the process. The clip snapped and the gun flew off, right into the door frame of the room on the opposite end of the hall, just as I’d aimed for. The gun clanked once more as it bounced off of the frame and flew straight into the room, sliding across the floor.

My ears jerked backwards as I heard the first gunshot, however when I stared down at the ground, I saw the bullet whiz by. Everything was still in slow motion, and the man had completely missed.

Again.

Assuming it was the same guy.

Using the same momentum from the previous swing, I swung myself around and sliced the rope that suspended the main to the ceiling, digging my claws into his back as he fell to the floor. Before he could hit the ground however, I leapt off of him, using the push from the leap to kind of throw the man at the group of people with guns. Of course this didn’t really work well at all, and he wound up just plopping to the ground in front of them. There was another loud bang as another shot was fired off, but I ignored it. I don’t know why I ignored it, but I did.

As quickly as I could, I dropped down onto all fours as soon as I hit the ground, in more of a crouching position. I grabbed Cammy by the scruff with my teeth as gently as I possibly could, however as I turned around to bring her inside the room, I felt a sharp stinging pain in my left ear, one that almost made me wince and bite right into her. I took a huge leap, grabbing her around the middle with both of my forepaws as soon as I became airborne to avoid killing her from the way I was holding her, biting into her from the force of the leap, or even both. I heard a third gunshot, or rather three more at the same time as three of the men’s guns fired at the same time. However it was far too late for them. I had already made it in. There was a loud clank as one of the bullets bounced off of my tail at the last possible second, and I landed on my belly in the room, right ontop of Cammy, who just plopped lifelessly to the floor underneath me.

I didn’t even bother wasting time trying to figure out what happened to her. In an instant I was back on my feet and in the air. I noticed a dark trail of blood leading from where I’d jumped from all the way into the room, a good splatter of it all over Cammy, making it impossible to tell if the blood was hers or not. I assumed it was, until I noticed that the trail had followed me back to the door. It was more than just a few bloody paw prints leading from the door to Cammy too. This was a full out trail of blood, as if someone was literally sliced open or something.

And it was following me.

Everything seemed to return to normal as several thoughts surged through my head all at once.

Was I hit? Was I the one bleeding? Was Cammy hit and her blood dripping off my tail? Was my tail just trailing it behind me? Was one of us dying without either of us knowing?

“What the FUCK was that?”

“I don’t fucking know but I’m out of here. You two can sit here and fight this thing if you want. It fucking dodges bullets. BULLETS!”

“Your orders are to st-“

“FUCK my orders! I’m out!”

I winced and flattened my ears back as there was a loud bang, followed by the thump of a body hitting the floor.

“What the HELL is wrong with you?”

“What? He was walking out, he was useless anyway.”

“You IDIOT! Now there’s only one of us left!”

“What exactly do you mean by that?”

“I mean I’m OUT too. Go ahead. Shoot me. Let’s see how you stand up to t-”

I knew they were obviously distracted, and I took the opportunity to dash out into the hall and leap at them.

“GET DOWN!”

“Oh FU-”

Before he could finish I had already leapt at him, my head lowered and my ears folded back as I plowed right into his belly. To my surprise there was a loud crackling sound as ribs broke against the force of the tackle, but that wasn’t what surprised me.

As the man was toppling over mid-sentence, I felt a powerful force press down against my back. Then another, and another, and another, before it finally pushed down altogether and almost made me fall right to the ground. Just as I was about to discharge, I realized what it was. It was Electra.

I perked my right ear up as she literally jumped off of me while I was in midair, plowing into the second man. I folded my ears back as a few gunshots went off, covering my muzzle with my paws as concrete dust from the ceiling rained down on us. I quickly shook myself off as Electra delivered an electric shock that hit both men, only it wasn’t just a shock. She held it, keeping the voltage flowing for a good ten seconds. When she stopped I moved my paws away from my face and looked at her. She was standing ontop of the man, who was obviously dead, a splatter of blood coating the fur on her right side red. It was obviously not hers because I could see it was only on the surface of the fur, and almost already dry.

She looked at me, and I smiled briefly, standing up. My smile suddenly faded as a sharp sting on my right ear caught my attention, and I moved a paw up to grab at it. Once I had it in my paw, the stinging intensified by a million. Not only that, but for some reason my back was getting all wet. And my paw was now soaked. Slowly, I let go of my ear and brought my paw out in front of me, my muzzle hanging open a little as I stared at the blood that dripped off of my fingers.

“Oh Arceus he’s hit!” Electra yelled as she ran up to me, grabbing me by the sides and literally carrying me inside the room.

“I’ve never held one of these before.” Cameron said as he held two of the guns the humans had armed themselves with, one in each hand.

“Yeah that’s probably a good thing.” Kevin said as he placed his down, walking over and kneeling in front of me. “Dallas are you okay?”

“Does it look like he’s okay?” Electra snapped.

“I’m fine.” I said softly. “My ear just… Burns is all.”

“That was quite a show you put on there.” Cameron said. “Moved like one of these bullets.”

“Get some water or something we need to clean this out.” Electra said as she gently grabbed my ear by the base, getting close and looking at it. “I think the bullet went right through it. You’re lucky it was the thin part near the top!”

“Here” Kevin said as he picked me up, carrying me to the bathroom and placing me in the bathtub. He turned on the shower and warmed up the water, before turning the showerhead so it flowed over me. Electra came over and got into the tub too, gently rubbing my ear with both paws to get the dirt and dust out.

“Ow… Holy crap.” I groaned softly as the sharp sting quickly returned. It took a lot of self control to fight the instinct to wiggle and paw at my ear, but I managed to keep still.

“Get her in the water too.” Cameron said as he knelt down, placing Cammy in the tub.

“Oh, fuck I forgot about her.” Electra said as she scooped her up, holding her in her paws like a baby. “Cammy are you okay?”

“I think she’s dead.” Kevin said, frowning.

“You’re a moron.” Electra growled. “She’s breathing you can see it.”

“Well then wake her up. Put her in the water, that always works in the movies.”

“Is this a movie?” Electra asked as she held Cammy up, placing her in the stream of the falling water.

“You never know. They could make a movie out of this.” Kevin said.

“This is why I still think you’re stupid.” Electra sighed as Cammy coughed a few times, before wiggling around in Electra’s paws.

“Oh thank Arceus she’s fine.” She said as she gently placed her upright on the floor of the tub. “I told you she wasn’t dead.”

“Um…” Cammy said as she looked around, frowning as she looked from me to Kevin, then at Electra and Cammy. “Where... Exactly… Am I?”

“Oh GOOD she’s lost her memory. She was fucking hit on the head with something.” Cameron groaned as he stood up.

“Shut up it can be fixed.” Electra said. “I hope.”

“Cameron said fuck!” Cammy laughed. “No I didn’t lose my memory, I just thought we moved or something.”

“No, we didn’t move. We’re just in the tub of a room you haven’t been in yet.” Kevin said. “Dallas got shot, but don’t worry it was just on his ear. He kind of saved your life.”

“Right.” She said as she scooted past Electra, smiling as she gently kissed my nose. “Thanks Dally.”

“Oh… No problem.” I said, smiling as I gently hugged her.

“Now would probably be a good time to mention something important though.” She said, frowning as she looked down at my feet, the water running down her ears and pouring off of the tips. “You’re.” She said as she looked back up at me, sending water flying everywhere. “You’re really a Mew.”

“Impossible.” Electra muttered softly, her paws slowly lowering to her sides as she stared at me. “There’s no way.”

“Team Rocket did not give you the ability to fly and teleport, nor did they give you psychic powers. All they did was make you re-”

“Realize he had them…” Electra said as she looked at me, nodding her head slowly.

“Exactly.” Cammy said. “They were always there. Did you really think a normal Pikachu, or even an abnormal one, could float around and teleport and stuff?” She asked.

“But. Mews can only float around when they’re in their Mew form, or another Pokémon that floats.” Electra said.

Cammy nodded, then shook her head, sighing softly as her ears folded back a little. “Dallas isn’t a normal Mew.”

“Surpriiiise.” Cameron said sarcastically, waving his arms around over his head. “Dallas isn’t a normal anything.”

“Oh hush.” Cammy said. “He’s a… I don’t even know how to describe it. But think about it though. He can learn any move he wants. Mew can also learn any technical or hidden machine moves. He can float, teleport, see things that his eyes can’t. Okay I can’t really explain how Dallas can do that last one but I’m positive he’s a Mew.” She said.

“Okay okay he’s a Mew.” Electra said as she shook herself off, climbing out of the tub. “How does that help with anything?”

“Maybe because he can transform into anything he wants.” Kevin said.

“Ha!” I laughed. “If I even knew how.”

“I doubt we have much time before more people show up.” Kevin said softly. “We should probably get out of here.”

“Where’s Zeke?” Cammy asked.

“He’s in his ball. He told me to put him in there when the people with guns came. Said he didn’t want to get hurt and disappoint you or something.” Electra said.

“Did he say when he wanted to get out?” Cammy asked.

“Actually no.” Electra frowned as Cammy shook herself off and hopped out. “I’m assuming that means whenever he’s needed.”

“He’ll be needed toni-”

“You’re not having sex tonight.” Kevin said, folding his arms. “Do you SEE the situation we’re in?”

“It’s great at relieving stress.” Cammy frowned. “Of course… You wouldn’t know that.” She laughed. “There’s no way you could ever get a female. But hey, when Dallas figures out how to transform into his Mew form his penis will have BARBS on it. That’ll be fun.”

“There’s something wrong with you.” Cameron said as I buried my face in my paws, laughing softly.

“More people are going to come. I don’t know when, and I don’t know how many, but more are going to come.” I said as I walked over to the doorway. “We need to get out of here.”

“How are we going to hide the bodies?” Cammy asked.

“Electra?” Cameron asked as he looked down at her.

“Where were you when I announced that I was full before?” Electra asked as she tilted her head. “Oh that’s right. You were right in front of me. What the HELL do you think my answer is going to be?”

“Maybe you’ll appreciate the feeling of being stuffed more than the feeling of being just full. Eat em.” Kevin said.

“Oh so NOW you’re encouraging it huh?” Cammy asked, folding her arms. “Hmph.”

“There’s blood everywhere, what difference is it going to make?” I sighed as I gently grabbed my left ear. “What happened to getting this bandaged up or something?”

“You’ll live. You were torn apart a few months ago by an Ursaring trap, I’m sure a little bullet to the ear isn’t going to kill you.” Electra said.

I just stared at her, tilting my head. “I was also at a Pokémon Center shortly after. Where I got… Hmm, let’s think for a moment… Oh that’s right, BANDAGES on it.” I said back. “And medicine.”

“That’s the first time I’ve heard Electra say anything negative to Dallas.” Kevin mumbled, frowning.

“We’re in a little pickle here, she’s a bit edgy.” Cameron said back.

“Yeah you’d know a lot about little pickles wouldn’t you?” Electra said as she looked up at Cameron.

“Actually it’s average sized. I’d know.” Cammy said, grinning up at Cameron, who shot her a confused stare, as if wondering how she knew that.

“You sleep. That’s all I have to say.” Cammy said. “Luckily for you I don’t appreciate mating unless my partner is awake for it. But that doesn’t mean I can’t get a little tasting in if you know what I mean.” She said, winking at him.

“Okay… First of all, EW.” Kevin said, wrinkling his nose. “Second of all, we DO need to get out of here. And NOW.” He said as he walked out. “I’ll grab the keys, you all just to push the elevator button or something. I’ll be out there in time for it to come up.” He said, my ears perking up as I heard him grab the keys off of the counter.

“Or you could just walk WITH us because I just heard you pick the keys up.” Cammy said as she walked out. “Smartass, I know, but they’re already here, I can hear the sound of like a million footsteps in the hallway.” She said as she walked back into the room, followed by Kevin.

“Well what do we do now?” Cammy asked, folding her arms. “Great.”

“We fight.” Cameron sighed. “What else?”

“No, we teleport.” I said, rolling my eyes as I stuck my paws out. “Grab me, I don’t care where. Touch my ear and die.”

“Oooohhh if this wasn’t a serious situation I would so grab your sheath.” Cammy said as she took my right paw.

“Hurr hurr.” Electra said as she grabbed the other one.

I waited until everyone was holding onto me before I warped us. I had no idea where to go, so I just teleported to the parking lot, alongside our car.

“Good going genius.” Cammy said, rolling her eyes. “Because you know, there’s no WAY they could have helicopters out here, or even their OWN vehicles.

“Shut up and get in.” Cameron said as he opened the door. Everyone piled in and Cameron shut it, just as Kevin started it and pulled out of the parking space.

“Oh, what a surprise.” Cammy said, rolling her eyes as she pointed to the row of people holding guns and other weapons. “I totally didn’t expect THEM to be out here.”

“Kevin, drive.” I said, closing my eyes.

“Are you crazy? They’ll shoot!” he replied.

“DRIVE.” I shouted. “STEP ON IT.”

Kevin shook his head a few times, sighing, then clenching his teeth as he floored the gas pedal. I flattened my ears to the back of my head as I heard the screech of the tires on the pavement. As soon as I heard one of the men yell to open fire, I grabbed onto the driver’s side seat and teleported, taking the car and everyone in it with me. We appeared in the parking lot of the old library, but of course there were search teams there too, something I hadn’t expected. Which is why I had told Kevin to step on it. By the time anyone could even realize what had just happened we were already speeding out and onto the highway.

“FUCK!” Kevin yelled as we ran right into one of the officers, who seemed to be picking something up off of the pavement, the car jumping as we ran right over him and exited the parking lot, speeding off onto the highway.

“Good work, genius.” Kevin said, rolling his eyes.

“Hey, he saved our asses.” Cammy snapped. “Shut it.”

“We KILLED someone.” Kevin snapped back.

“Are you serious?” Cameron asked. “We murder a bunch of people in the hallway, eat about seven of them casually, and you’re worried about the one we ran over?”

“He has a point.” I said, sighing softly as I plopped down in the backseat. “Why care now?”

“Can we stop and get something to eat?” Electra asked.

“Oh NOW you’re hungry.” Cammy sighed, plopping down next to me.

“Hey, things change.” She said back.

“Can’t no money.” Kevin said, sighing softly.

“What happened to the money YOU have?” Cammy asked, sitting up.

“It’s not the same as the money they use here.” He said. “We’re also wanted for… I don’t remember. But it has to do with me giving them ‘fake’ money for the McDonald’s food.” He said.

“Awesome.” Cammy said, sighing as she grabbed both her ears tugging gently on them. “Is there ANYTHING that we’re NOT wanted for?”

“Rape.” Cameron said. “We’re not wanted for rape.”

“Technically that’s not true.” Cammy laughed softly.

“Again. Ew.” Kevin said as Cameron sighed softly.

“So what are we going to do about money?” I asked.

“I don’t know. What CAN we do?” Electra asked. “We’ll just have to eat more humans.”

“Or we could always not.” Cammy said.

“You got any better ideas?” Electra asked, folding her arms.

“We could always rob a bank or something.” Cammy said, shrugging.

Everyone turned and looked at her, except Kevin, who looked in the mirror briefly.

“HOW exactly is that a better idea?” Cameron asked.

“Yeah, please tell me how that’s a better choice.” Kevin said.

“Oh come on.” Cammy said, sighing as she plopped back down next to me. “We’re already wanted for fraud, murder, assault, all that other crap that’s really the same charge under a different name that people like to throw in there for shits and giggles just to give you a longer sentence, why not add theft to it or whatever? I mean we’re already in jail for life.”

“Technically she’s right. We have nothing to lose.” Electra said, shrugging. “Breaking and entering, destruction of property, theft, we’re already charged with those I bet. But really, how long do they really think we’ll stay in a jail cell?”

“That’s also a very good point.” Cammy said. “They’re not prepared for Pokémon in this world, it’s obvious. All we have to do is iron tail the wall or something and just get out, then shock a few people, feed Electra, and we’re set.”

“Ugh…” Kevin said, sighing softly as he slowed down a little, most likely to the speed limit. “Whatever.”

“Are you seriously considering this?” Cameron asked.

“Actually yes, they have really good points.” Kevin said. “Besides, Dallas could probably just teleport us in there, stuff Electra with the money, gr-”

“WHOA THERE.” Electra said, holding both paws up. “You’re not stuffing me with anything but food. Like I said, anything that goes in does NOT come out. Especially paper. If you’re going to stuff me with paper and expect to get it back in a few minutes then you’re dumber than I thought you were.”

“Come on, she digests metal and rocks. And anything else for Arceus’ sake. You really think paper is going to survive even a couple seconds?” Cammy asked. “Come on Kevin.”

“Maybe he didn’t mean her mouth?” Cameron asked.

“Yeaaaaah that’s definitely a no.” Electra said, laying down on the seat. “Nice try though. You can stuff anything on Cammy with anything you want but not me.” She said.

“No one’s being stuffed with anything.” I said. “Just grab a bag and get out. Seriously, how much do we need? We’ll be here what, a few weeks at the most? And besides. I can’t teleport to places I haven’t seen before. I think.”

“Oh well that’s lovely.” Kevin said, shaking his head. “There goes that idea.”

“We’re still doing it.” Cammy said. “Just because we can’t teleport in doesn’t mean we can’t teleport out. And besides, we’re POKÉMON. We can… Destroy anything these humans use to fight against us with.”

“True, true.” Electra said, nodding. “Just use dig or something and go underneath.”

“We’d need a steel type. I’m sure the vault is made with at LEAST steal.” Cameron said. “And we don’t have one.”

“Then we go in ourselves. At night or something.” I said. “Seriously, what’s the worst they can do? Hit us with w few lasers that set off annoying alarms? Bring on more humans? I’m sure once they see who the robbers are they’ll all back off anyway.”

“Maybe they have spike traps or something.” Cammy said.

“Then we’ll just teleport and go back in.” I said. “Not everyone is going in, that’s too much of a risk. If there is some sort of death trap, and one of you doesn’t get to me in time, then we could all be dead. Or at least some of us. I’m not taking that risk.”

“Then only Pokémon go in.” Electra said. “Kevin and Cameron can stay here. They’re definitely going to notice humans trying to sneak in, I don’t think Pokémon sneaking in absolutely silently is going to attract as much attention.”

Cameron looked at Kevin, who shrugged.

“I’m sure they can handle themselves just fine.” Cameron said softly.

“Holy… Crap. My head is KILLING ME.” Cammy groaned, placing both paws over her forehead.

“You got hit. It’ll fade. You Pokémon heal like a billion times faster than we do.” Cameron said. “And we probably heal at least ten times faster than these humans here. Or even faster.” He said. “They can’t even take a simple thunderbolt.”

“Neither can you!” Cammy laughed.

“Well at least I’m still conscious and living after it.” Cameron said, sticking his tongue out. “Yeah I might be on the floor, spazzing out a little. But I’m alive and can get right up in a few moments.”

“Good point.” She said, nodding. “So are we doing this or not? I’m sure there’s a major bank up here somewhere. We can just ask someone.”

“I can’t really believe I’m saying this, but…” Kevin said, sighing softly as he looked into the mirror. “Let’s go rob that bank. I just don’t think asking someone where their most important bank is is a good idea.”

“Then we ask someone that looks like trouble.” Electra said. “Either way, we’re doing this.”
