Elias the Rogue
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
Vale wasn't the only character I created for Heartleaf's Beast World setting. This is basically a D&D version of my fursona :p
Meet Elias Caspian, a Rogue (Inquisitive subclass) laetine otter and researcher of the pan-dimensional Dungeon that has spread throughout the Beast World. Here he's not only a Delver (equivalent to Adventurer in this setting), but he's also a traveling librarian who offers his knowledge to other caravan crews seeking answers to Dungeon incursions. Thanks to his keen observational talents as an Inquisitive Rogue, he's also taken the occasional freelance detective job to fund his research and Dungeon delves.
One of the neat features of species of this world is that they all get special traits depending on the homeland they originate from. Elias is from the nation of Vinyot, which shares a lot of cues from Renaissance-era Italy. For laetines (ferrets & otters) coming from there, they have a knack for taking random objects and being able to jury-rig just about anything from them, whether its a quick patch-job on a caravan wagon, strengthening a lock, putting together a trap, and other things. Elias' manner of utilizing this trait is the bracer on his left arm, upon which he carries a bunch of tools he uses for these jury rigs all within easy reach. Only a laetine could figure out how to fit all these tools into a single piece of equipment so perfectly, but that's just how mustelids roll in the Beast World. They'd make great Tetris players :p
Otters are typically proportioned differently in the Beast World setting, so this was a chance for me to experiment a bit with his longer torso and shorter limbs. Laetines are around 3-4 feet tall, so imagine him really short here. Though I didn't necessarily intend to make him look like a pirate corsair, I'll admit there's something oddly tantalizing about a rugged librarian. Besides, the look is perfect to go along with the expressive, individualistic stylings of Delvers anyway.
