Trampled Flowers by TheOwlette [Commission]
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
Hueroc tensed, ready to spring, his eyes on the frisbee as the arm holding it drew back. Once, twice, his friend jerked his hand without throwing it, and though he twitched he wasn't fooled--and he smacked at him with his tail in playful complaint about being teased like that! But at last the frisbee sailed away through the air, and with a roar of excitement the red dragon bounded after it. His claws dug into the earth for traction as he watched the frisbee spin and tilt, and then with a gust of wind it swung away far to the side! Tail swinging to keep his balance, he turned to follow as the big plastic disk hung up in the air, buoyed by the wind blowing it along but at last beginning to descend towards the ground...
Glancing away for a moment to keep his bearings, he nearly smacked right into a stone wall that rose nearly to the height of his chest! He vaulted over it and stumbled as his paws came down among a bed of flowers, leaves and petals flying everywhere as he extricated himself from the bushes--the frisbee was about to land, he had to catch it first-- He lunged for it, caught it in his jaws, and fell to the earth, grunting as he slid along on his side and his weight dug a furrow. But he'd caught it! Tail wagging at his success, he looked around briefly, started to climb to his feet... and let out a startled yelp when something grabbed at his paw!
Dropping the frisbee in his surprise, he turned to look just in time to see a whole mess of vines whipping out from the tree he'd come to a stop next to, and though he tried to back away he had no real time to react! Surprisingly strong, the tendrils yanked him off his paws and lashed him against the tree almost haphazardly: his hind paws were pinned against the fork of the big tree's lowest branches, his tail grabbed by a series of vines along another branch, while his body, forepaws, and neck were trapped against the trunk of the tree itself, leaving him dangling upside down and pinned against the bark. More vines even crept over his wings to pin them shut! "H-hey-- Get off!" he said, to no one in particular, and though he pushed and squirmed they wouldn't let him go.
Movement caught his eye--the frisbee!--and he looked away from his vine-bound limbs and body to see a green-furred dragon picking up his frisbee. Opening his maw to protest, he took in the bared claws, the frown and the glaring expression, the pinned-back angry ears... "O-oh... Hi Korrus," he said. "Let me down?"
The earth dragon snapped his teeth. "After the wreckage you caused?" His snout jerked towards where one of his flower beds had been trampled, and the grass and dirt of the field beneath the tree had been flung all about. "And over this!" He waved the disk in the air, and Hueroc's eyes followed it, almost by instinct.
"That's mine!" he couldn't help but say, trying to extend his snout towards it but unable to move it very far from his paws or the tree trunk, thanks to all the vines. "Give it back..."
"No." He tossed it back to the ground and stood, fluffy tail lashing back and forth. "And you can stay there until I've fixed up my garden from your... intrusion. Maybe longer, depending how much of a mess it is. You need to watch where you're going!"

A silly commission Raize and I got a little while ago. Poor Hueroc, once the frisbee's in the air he just has to go catch it! To the detriment of whatever's in his path. x3 Really really like this piece, lots of details, and Korrus's anger and Hueroc's innocent expression!
