KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS

Sierra flew after Neal and Cody. While I was enjoying the view on her back. Man this is beautiful! I can bet it's better than flying an airplane. The wind blowing against your face, the freedom of flying, the adrenaline. God in heaven, I can't thank you enough for letting me see Sierra for the first time back at home, cause if I didn't, then I wouldn't be up here right now.

My thoughts went back to mom and dad again. Guys...I hope you're okay without me. Because I am alright. I'm having the time of my life!

It has been about two hours I think since we've all left the city, since I've lost track of time. We were flying over a forest, all the trees are green. Very high up in the sky. Not bad from up here.

I hollered at Sierra, "Are we there yet?! We have been flying for a long time!"

Sierra hollered back, "I believe we're almost there! Not very long now!"

I hollered again, "You sure?! The sun's about to set!"

Sierra hollered again, "Yes!" Then we both saw Neal and Cody fly down to the forest for a landing.

That's when I said, "Hey I think they're, ah!" Before I could say anything else, Sierra dove down to the earth kinda fast. I held onto her tight, trying not to scream in fright.

Her wings were tucked to her side, we were going down real fast cause we were so high in the sky.

We were getting closer to the ground and I screamed, "Sierra!" She didn't open her wings and we were still falling, "Sierra!"

Not to far from the trees now, "SIERRA!" Finally she opened her wings and we barely missed the top of the trees. The wind coming from her wings, blowing the leaves off the limbs.

I breathed heavily, pretty surprised about what happened. Jesus! Is she crazy?! She could have killed us! Not a great way to play a joke!

I looked down and saw that Neal and Cody had already landed to the ground, probably heard me screaming and now they're probably laughing their heads off. Oh har, freakin har!

Sierra circled around over the trees, then after another moment, she slowly gilded down to the ground for the landing. She landed on her hind legs first, then her front feet. She trotted to a stop.

After she stopped, she looked over her shoulder and said, "There, flight's over."

I jumped off her back and landed hard on my feet. I dusted myself and then I went in front of her face.

That's when I slapped her nose real hard, she cried out, "Ow!" She put a paw to her nose and asked, "What did you do that for?!"

I crossed my arms and shot a glare at her, "You bitch! You could have killed me!"

Sierra let go of her nose and had a guilty look on her face, "I was just joking, we weren't going to die."

I nodded, "Yeah I know, but still...It looked pretty scary!"

Sierra lowered her head to my level and said, "I'm sorry, can you forgive me?"

Immediately after she asked, I put up a grin and said, "Oh I could never stay mad at you. Besides that you really got me good!"

Sierra's face went wide and then she started to laugh, "Well glad you thought it was funny! Cause I've did that to Eric before."

I laughed and then I asked, "Did he slap your nose when you did that?"

She giggled, "Well...Yes. I guess I should have learned my lesson years ago! I mean you both slap alike!"

I laughed again and then I reached up to rub her nose, "Sorry little nosey, I won't slap you again."

Then we both laughed. After that we heard Cody and Neal trotting toward us and Neal grinned and asked, "What's so funny you two?"

I waved him off, "Nothing pal, just having a funny together."

Neal just giggled, "Well if there's a funny going on, can I join in?"

Sierra shook her paw a him, "Now Neal, it's too late to join in, so nope."

Neal groaned, "Ah, fine! Have it your way!"

Cody laughed, "Geez guys, I guess I should have came over sooner."

That's when I asked, "Did you guys even see what Sierra was doing up there with me on her back? She practically dove to the earth!"

Sierra shot up her head, "At least I didn't break every bone in our bodies!"

Cody laughed again, "Yeah we saw it, and we've heard you scream. That was TOO funny."

I shot a glare and shook my fist at him, "You better watch it, little green dude."

Cody gave me a mock expression, "What? I'm not little! I'm about as tall as you are!"

I laughed and said, "Oh I know, pal!" Then I patted him on his shoulder.

Neal sighed and then smiled, "Well guys, we're finally here. God it has been a long time since I've been here. This forest hasn't changed much."

Sierra looked around, "Yeah, it hasn't."

I shrugged, "Ok, so where are the caves? You said there would be caves."

Neal nodded and said, "Well, we just have to find them now. They should be around here somewhere. C'mon." Then he whirled around and walked off, along with Cody.

I started to follow and then Sierra used her paw to smack my butt, I yelped and put both my hands on it. I rubbed it and then I glared at Sierra, "NOW what was that for?"

Sierra playfully grinned, "Let me put it this way, you slap me, I'll slap you back!" Then she laughed hard, her paw hitting the ground while she was laughing.

I still glared at her and then I stuck my tongue out at her.

Sierra smiled and stuck her tongue out at me.

*****

Me, Sierra, Cody and Neal have wondered in the forest for a while, searching for the caves that Sierra and Neal haven't been in since they were hatchlings.

While I walked beside Sierra, I asked her, "So what's so special about those caves?"

Sierra looked down at me while she was walking and said, "It's a surprise."

Cody beamed at her, "Surprise? I love Surprises! I hope we do find those caves soon!"

Neal laughed, "Don't worry young dragon, we're almost there."

I muttered, "I hope so, it's getting kinda dark now."

We kept on walking until we could see a cave nearby. My face went wide and then I pointed, "Look guys, there it is!"

Sierra and Neal beamed when they saw it, they both said it at the same time, "Perfect!" Then they both bounded to the mouth of the cave.

Me and Cody were still bewildered about them and then I muttered, "Wow, guess they really love that place."

Cody shrugged, "Well I know I've never left the city before, but I do know that it looks like an ordinary cave."

I frowned at him, "And how would you know that?"

Cody shot up his head proudly, "Cause my papa used to live in one!"

I nodded and said, "Right."

Then we both heard Sierra call out to us, "You guys done screwing around? Come on in here!"

Me and Cody glanced at each other and both just shrugged. Then we both went after them. We entered in the cave, kinda pitch black in here. I got the flashlight out of my pocket and turned it on, the beam of the flashlight pointed straight ahead.

Cody stared in awe at the flashlight and asked, "What's that?"

I giggled about his naïve attitude and answered, "That's a flashlight, my kind uses flashlights to see in the dark. Works great in here."

Cody shook his head and said, "Well my kind don't need that, you see our eyes adjust real good in the darkness.

I shrugged, "Doesn't matter to me, I'm keeping it. Don't want to fall into a hole or anything."

Cody nodded, "I guess there's nothing wrong with that."

I gestured my hand up ahead, "C'mon lets go find them." Then me and Cody went deeper in the cave to find Sierra and Neal.

The cave felt kinda colder in here than the one Sierra lived in. I wonder why? We kept on walking until I could see the blue and red scales up ahead.

I waved my hand at Sierra and Neal while we were walking, "There you are guys! What are you doing? Playing hide and seek in the cave?" Me and Cody got closer to them.

Sierra giggled and shook her head, "Nope, actually this is the caves we were talking about."

I looked around and said, "Ok, but I don't see anything interesting."

Neal shook his head, "That's because we're not deeper in the cave! And when we get deeper into the cave, you'll love it." Then Neal led us the way, "Come see. Me and Sierra here have seen this with our parents. It's beautiful!"

Sierra nodded and giggled, "Hey wait for us!" Then she trotted after him.

Cody leaned his head to mine to whisper, "Boy they really are excited."

I giggled and whispered back, "Tell me something I don't know. I haven't seen Sierra THAT excited before."

That's when we heard Sierra's voice echoing in the tunnel, "Here it is guys! Come look!"

I gasped and said to Cody, "Lets go." Then we bounded in the tunnel after them.

We ran until we made it to the end of the tunnel. Found Sierra and Neal standing near the entrance of the tunnel. When we came out I could see that we've wounded up in a big cavern. My eyes went wide. Wow...I've never been in a real cavern before.

I could see the stalagmites sticking on the ceiling of the cavern. Wow, really big in here.

I shined the flashlight in this place and said, "Wow.....I haven't been in this kind of place before, I only saw this stuff on TV."

Neal cocked his head, "TV?"

I laughed, "Well that's another human thing that you don't know about. Your kind don't have television."

Neal smiled down at me and Cody, "This cavern is where my parents and Sierra's parents took us. You see they've seen this place before as well. And let me tell you this, it's really beautiful."

Sierra giggled and looked down at me, "Well it's not just the cavern we wanted to show you and Cody."

Cody cocked his head up at Sierra, "What did you want to show us?"

Neal answered, "Well you were about to see, but the flashlight made it go away."

I frowned at Neal, "My flashlight made what go away?"

Sierra lowered her head to my level and said, "Turn off the flashlight."

I had a confused look on my face, "Why?"

Neal nudged my back with his nose, "Go on, Wayne. Turn it off."

I stared at both Sierra and Neal for another moment until I nodded and then I found the button to turn the flashlight off. Before I could press the button I looked at Sierra and she nodded. I nodded right back and pressed the button.

The flashlight went off, but then something happened in the cavern. Suddenly several things on the walls of the cavern, started to light up immediately and I gasped in awe. They looked like small bright lights on the walls of the cavern.

Cody gasped in awe, "Wow...Are they...?"

Neal giggled and said, "Yep kid, those are light crystals."

I looked up at Sierra and Neal, "Wait, that's what you wanted to show us?"

Sierra beamed at me and nodded, "Yes Wayne. It is."

I smiled in awe and I walked to one of the wall of the cavern, taking a closer look at one of the light crystals. I peered at one stuck in the wall and I reached and pulled one off of there. The crystal was pretty bright, it almost stun my eyes.

I still had one in my hands and smiled at the dragons, "Wow guys, you've saw this when you were little? It's beautiful."

Neal sat down on his haunches beside me, "Yep Wayne, me and Sierra saw this when we were little. Haven't been in this place for years."

Sierra giggled, "I still can't believe it's still here."

Cody sat down on his haunches and took the crystal out of my hand and examined it, "Hmmm, I've heard studies about it, but oh man I can't believe I'm seeing one! It's rare to see one of those!"

I frowned at Cody, "Really? How rare?"

Cody looked away from the crystal and answered, "Well...Very rare actually."

My face went wide, "Holy crap. And my kind hasn't heard of them before. I think I've made a big discovery, in history! Other than seeing real dragons of course."

The dragons all laughed. Their laughing echoing off the walls.

Sierra looked down at me and smiled, "Do you love this place Wayne?"

I nodded, "Yeah I do." Then I went to her and wrapped my arms around her neck. Hugging her close to her chest. She returned the hug as well by wrapping her paw around my body.

Neal and Cody smiled at the scene, then Cody muttered, "Such a touching moment."

Me and Sierra laughed and then I pulled away from her giggling, "Now you've just ruined the moment."

Cody rolled his eyes, "Whatever human." Then we all laughed.

After we were done laughing, I looked around the cavern. This place is amazing. The light crystals are all over the cavern, even on the ceiling.

I think I know why the flashlight made the light crystals lose their shine. Apparently they react to my flashlight, or any other source of light for that matter, even the sun.

The light crystals only react to their own light. Amazing.

Joanna...This place is beautiful.

I wish you were here with me, to see it.

*****

I left the fire and looked for Wayne. Since me, him, Cody, and Neal are all staying out here for the night and for tomorrow night. Before we head back to the city.

I still couldn't believe Wayne and Cody's faces when they all saw the light crystals. They were both in shock! Especially Wayne. Wayne was really...Impressed. He never saw anything like it, I could tell by the look on his face.

While I was searching for Wayne, my thoughts went to Eric. I never even told everyone the truth. Not even Neal. I have been to that cavern once since I was hatchling. Me and Eric went there one time and he saw all the light crystals. He really was...Happy.

I remember we've talked and....And...

I shook my head. Have to find Wayne right now. No time to think about anything else.

I kept on trotting until I came across a lake. That's when I saw Wayne, sitting alone near the lake. Well at least he wasn't far away from us. He could've been hurt again. Which I hope that no wolves live out here.

I cocked my head when I emerged from the woods. What's he doing? It looks like he's holding something.

I walked up behind him and lowered my head to his level, looking over his shoulder. It looks like he's looking at a small portrait of himself and some female beside him. Hmmm, that's Wayne, but who's that human female?

Wayne finally noticed I was behind him and turned to look over his shoulder and jumped in fright, "Ah!" He got up on his feet and whirled around to face me.

I grinned at him, "Hello."

Wayne groaned, "Jesus, woman! You scared me!"

I giggled, "Sorry, didn't mean it. I thought you noticed."

Wayne sighed and put up a grin, "Well I knew I've felt someone breathing down my neck. Figured someone was RIGHT behind me."

She licked my nose, "Got you good again, didn't I?"

He laughed, "Yep you did, that's twice now!"

I smiled at him, "Not my fault you're too easy to be scared."

He lightly smacked me on my neck, "Shut up." Then we both giggled.

I cocked my head at him, "So what are you doing out here alone anyway? You do know that Neal has already hunted and he already cooked the food like you wanted? After you ate a few bites, you wandered away from us. What gives?"

He shrugged, "Ah, I don't know. I guess I wanted some me time. After all we're only staying out here for two nights, before we go back to the city."

I shrugged, "Don't see anything wrong with that. But...Can I join you? I mean I don't want you to be alone and get hurt like the last time."

Wayne said, "I don't think there are wolves living out here."

I narrowed my eyes at him, "Do you want to find out alone?"

Wayne thought about it and then he shook his head, "Nope."

I asked, "Well good, so can I join you on your alone time?"

He sighed and nodded, "Sure, why not? After all you're babysitting me now." Then he giggled.

I shot a glare at him, "You're not a baby. You're an adult."

Wayne laughed, "Hey at least I can act immature, right?"

I grinned at him, "You can, just don't over do it."

He shook his head, "Oh I don't EVER over do it."

I rolled my eyes at him, "Doesn't really surprise me that you're making up that answer."

He raised his hands in defense, "Aw come on Sierra! You don't believe me?"

I shot a playful grin at him, "Nope."

He gave me a mock gasp, "My friend, I'm shocked!" Then we both laughed.

After we stopped laughing, Wayne and I sat down together close to the edge of the lake. I looked down at the lake and could see our reflections on there. Along with the full moon. The Hunter's Moon.

I giggled when I was thinking about the moon. He looked up at me and frowned, "And what could be funny right now?"

I waved him off, "Sorry Wayne. I was just thinking about something."

Wayne grinned at me and asked, "What were you thinking about?"

I looked down at him and said, "I was thinking about the moon. You see right now it's the Hunter's Moon. You see every time I could see the moon like that, I always assumed that a dragon is hunting right now. When I was living alone back at where you're from, in that cave, I've always hunted under it."

Wayne's face went wide and said, "That was...Interesting."

I giggled, "Yeah I know, it sounds kinda scary when you think about it."

Wayne had a glum look on his face, "Well...I guess the scary part about it, is that you live alone, for a long time. Hunting alone, having no emotions at all. Just hate toward my kind, and...Sadness. I think that's the scary part about it. I guess that's why I don't like the Hunter's Moon that much. It just makes you sound like you're a monster."

My eyes went wide after he said all that and then I had a sad and guilty look on my face. I sighed, "Wayne...About everything that happened between us....You know before we went to the city together for the first time. I still feel real terrible about it. I never should have treated you so badly."

He looked up at me and said, "Sierra...What you've done...It was wrong. How you've treated me it was wrong. But you still showed some other emotion and I could never be more thankful for that."

I still had the sad and guilty look and looked down at him, "But what about that night? You know on the night when we went to the city? You know in the woods near my cave? I...I thought you were against me and I've tried to kill you, just when I was about to blow fire at you."

He gave me a comforting smile, "But you never did. You've stopped yourself before that could happen."

I asked, "And what if I didn't? You would have died."

Wayne while he's sitting reached out to pet my leg, "Sierra...Stop. It's over now. You're not a monster and you never will be. It was a bad call before, but it's over now. Me and you are friends now, nothing more."

I stared at him for a bit and then I smiled, "Good." Then I lowered my head to his level and nuzzled his head, "Good." Then I raised my head and stared at the night sky. I sighed.

Wayne sighed as well and then he asked, '"Hey Sierra, can I ask you something?"

I looked down at him, "Sure."

He asked, "Your parents, you know before they died, what do they look like? Do they look like you?"

My face went wide. Wow...Never really expected to hear that question from him.

He interrupted my thoughts, "I'm sorry Sierra. I never should have asked."

I shook my head, "No, it's ok." I took a deep breath and let it out, "Well you see, my father didn't look like me at all. You see his scales were pretty black."

Wayne asked, "What about your mother?"

I nodded and smiled down at him, "Mostly yeah, she had bright blue scales like me. She even had the same curves like I do."

He giggled, "You mean your butt?"

I shot a glare at him, "Now if you're going to play dirty with me, play that game with Neal and Cody back there, you dirty little human."

He laughed so hard and he made one clap with his hands, "Oh I'm dirty! Well listen to yourself, you dirty lizard!"

I glared at him still, "For the last time, not a gecko, not a lizard, DRAGON." He laughed some more and then I joined in.

When we were done laughing, Wayne asked, "So your mother looked like you the most?"

I nodded, "My uncle sometimes said that I look like her. It's not that hard to figure it out." I giggled and then I asked Wayne, "So what about you? What are your parents like?"

He shrugged, "Well they're just ordinary parents. They're not dead like yours. Of course sometimes I don't think they take me seriously."

I shrugged, "Some parents don't, they usually think they know everything." Then I changed the subject a bit, "So what are their human names?"

He answered, "My father's name is Henry. And my mother's Mary."

I cocked my head down at him, "Does your father look like you?"

He giggled, "Yeah, I kind of have his eyebrows. Believe me, you can tell we're related." Then Wayne had a glum look on his face.

I grew a concerned look n my face, "Wayne? Are you ok?"

He nodded, "Yeah...I was just...Thinking about someone."

I cocked my head, "Who?"

Wayne sighed and then he said, "Someone who was like a mother to me. Other than my real mom. She's really special...Well was."

I frowned, "Was? What do you mean?"

"She died...Two years ago. You see she was my best friend."

My face went wide. Wait, his best friend? The one he mentioned, the one who's death made him feel guilty. I lowered my head to his level and asked, "What was her name?"

Wayne looked at me and said, "Joanna Stanton."

My face went wide again, "Joanna? You mean the old magenta dragoness who owns the Braveheart?"

Wayne laughed and waved me off, "No, no. You see I named that dragoness after Joanna. You see that dragoness reminded me of Joanna. The Joanna I've used to know. The HUMAN Joanna. I think I've told you that already."

I nodded, "Alright I get it. I just...Forgot. So who is she really? How did you two meet?"

Wayne's hand went into his pocket and he pulled out something, it looked like the portrait he was looking at. He showed me and it showed Wayne and this female human, he pointed at the female, "That's Joanna."

I lowered my head to look closer at the portrait and said, "She's beautiful."

Wayne grinned, "Thank you. She would have loved to hear you say that."

I pulled away from the small portrait and I asked, "So how did you and Joanna meet?"

Wayne smiled when he recalled the memories then he put the small portrait into his pocket, "Well...I was actually...Eight or nine when I've first met Joanna. You see I was a hatchling."

I giggled, 'Well of course you were! Everyone gets to be a hatchling only once in their life."

He laughed and then he went on, "Well when I was little...I was bullied and picked on. I didn't exactly have a lot of friends growing up. I was kinda of a loner."

I hissed and then he held up on finger, "Now hold on, that's when things get interesting. You see...One day when I was walking home from school, I'm sure you know what school is right?" I nodded and then he went on, "You see I was walking back home and all of a sudden one of the bullies was chasing me from the school. God he even cornered me in an alleyway."

He smiled and he continued, "You see, I was about to be beaten to a pulp, until she showed up."

I asked, "Joanna?"

He nodded, "Yep, you see Joanna just came out of nowhere. Hell when the bully didn't back off, she beat the crap out of him! Gave him a bloody nose at that!"

I grinned, "Sounds like your friend has balls."

He laughed, "Oh yeah she did! After she rescued me, we have talked to each other ever since. It turns out, she even knew my mother when they were both little. She was basically the only person I could really talk to. She was my...Confidant."

He sighed, "She was like a mother to me as well. I mean, she has always supported me, better than my real mother at least."

I cocked my head, "You don't love your real mother?"

He answered, "I do, but I just don't think she believes in me all THAT much. She just wants me to do what she wants, I think."

I muttered, "Well that's...Odd."

Wayne shrugged, "I guess. Joanna always listened to me and she has always believed in me. In fact." He giggled, "She was the reason why I've started singing in my life."

I beamed at him, "Really?!"

He nodded, "Oh yes! You see...Joanna listened to Journey a lot, when she was younger. She loves their songs, loves Steve Perry. But she mostly loves one of their songs called 'Don't Stop Believin'."

I smiled at him, "Really?"

Wayne giggled, "Yeah she could never get enough of them. I mean, sometimes I've asked her if she would rather listen to someone else, but she said nope."

He sighed, "She was the reason I've started singing in the first place. In fact, she really did believe in me because I sang in front of her, just like I've sang in front of you."

I smiled at him, "She sounds pretty special to you."

He smiled, "Yeah, I guess the reason why she treated me like I was her son, is because she didn't have...Children of her own."

I cocked my head, "Why?"

He answered, "Well...She was with someone, a mate I'm sure that's what you would call it. But she wasn't with him anymore."

He sighed, "He was physically abusive to her. He always hit her and called her names. Calling her a slut and a whore. But she left him, years before I've met her."

I had a pity look, "I'm sorry."

He waved me off, "It's ok. She was still tough for a woman. She never gave up on her life. She always listened to 'Don't Stop Believin', and she never gave up on her life. Until...." He looked away.

I cocked my head at him, "Wayne...How did she die?"

He didn't move, didn't even answer.

I sighed, "Look Wayne, one day you'll have to tell me. It's just like me, I can't keep my feelings bottled up forever. Someday I know you'll have to tell me."

He sighed as well, "I know that, but...Just not now."

I pitied him. Pitied him more than ever before. Then an idea came to me and then I got up on all fours. Then I waddled in the lake, the water a bit cold to my scales.

Wayne hollered, "Hey! What are you doing?"

My feet touched at the bottom of the lake, the water is chest deep now and I turned around to face him, "You do swim, do you not?"

Wayne got up on his feet and said, "Yeah...But what are you doing right now?"

I grinned at him, "Swimming that's what!" Then I giggled.

He shrugged, "Why?"

I answered, "Because I want to, just for fun. I just want to be immature for right now." Then I playfully smacked the surface of the water,  "C'mon Wayne! Get in!"

His face went wide and he incredulously asked, "Now? But I have to...Take off my clothes."

I shot up my head, "So then take them off!"

His face went red, "Are you kidding me? I can't...I-"

I raised one paw to stop him, "Look Wayne, you have to be immature every now and then. And plus I'm trying to cheer you up, now get in the water or do I have to toss you in here?"

He shook his head, "I really don't know."

I sighed, "Honestly, I don't know why humans have to be private about their bodies. I mean, I really don't get it. I'm naked all the time."

He shot a glare at me, "That's different, you're a dragon!"

I rolled my eyes, "Whatever, I'm going to swim, jump in when you're ready." I whirled around in the water. Then in the background I've heard Wayne saying, "Oh the hell with it."

Then about five seconds, I heard a splash behind me and saw that Wayne has jumped in the water with me. His face went wide, "Oh crap it's cold!"

I laughed at him, "Oh boy! Good thing I have scales!"

Wayne playfully shot a glare at me when he swam in front of me, "Shut it, old lady."

I glared at him, "How many times do I have to tell you I'm not freakin old?"

He giggled, "You are! I can see some wrinkles on your scales. You're old!"

I shouted, "I'M NOT OLD!!" Then I raised one paw and smacked the water so hard, a lot of it splashed on Wayne.

My eyes went wide and then I laughed.

Wayne shook his head full of water and glared at me, "That tears it!" Then he splashed water at my face. I yelped when some of it hit my eyes.

I shook my head and glared at him, "Now you're going to pay for it!" Then I lowered my head to Wayne until my head was under his body. He yelped when he was now on top of my head, just dangling. I raised my head and then I tossed him into the water. He screamed until he landed in the water.

He resurfaced and coughed. He looked up at me and glared. I grinned at him and started laughing, "Payback's a bitch!" I started laughing some more. Then he joined in.

We played in the water for a while now. I'm thinking that Neal and Cody are sleeping by now. But I didn't care, I like playing with Wayne. He's really...Special.

Wait? What am I thinking about? I'm thinking about Wayne, but what am I feeling? Why do I feel so...Weird?

It's a familiar feeling

Wayne interrupted my thoughts, "Hey you gonna keep playing with me or what?"

I shook my head, "Right! Sorry!" Then I went back to splashing on him again.

When we were done playing, Wayne got out of the water, since there were no towels for him, I decided that the only way to help him dry, is for me to blow air at him.

I've did that for a few minutes. Wayne telling me he was chilled at first, but then he started to dry up.

He put his clothes back on and he smiled at me when he put his shirt on, "Well that was fun. I haven't swam with you before."

I smiled back, "Me and Eric used to swim together, before he died."

His eyes went wide and he said, "I'm sorry, you ok?"

I nodded, "Oh I'm fine. It's a good memory."

That brought back his smile, "Good. So...Are you ready to go to bed?"

Suddenly another thought came to me and then I said, "Actually...I want you to sing a human song to me. Right now, please?"

He frowned, "What? You want me to sing?"

I nodded, "Yeah, is there a problem?"

Wayne smiled and shook his head, "No...I guess I could think of another human song for you. After all I do know Journey a lot."

Then I laid down on my stomach in front of him. I gestured my paw at him, "Go ahead."

Wayne sighed and thought of what he wanted to sing to me, then I could see a thought came and he smiled. He said, "You're going to love this one." Then he cleared his throat and he said, "Ok."

Finally he started to whistle the song's tune, I could tell that it's starting.

Then he looked at me and sang in a beautiful voice, "Lying beside you. Here in the dark. Feeling your heartbeat with mine."

"Softly you whisper. You're so sincere. How could our love be so blind?"

He raised on arm, "We sailed on together!" He raised his other arm, "We drifted apart! And here you are by my side!"

He raised both his arms in the air and sang loud, "So now I come to you!! With open arms!!!"

I smiled down at him, "Nothing to hide! Believe what I say! So here I am!! With open arms!!!"

He lowered his arms slowly to his sides, "Hoping you'll see! What your love means to me, open arms." He whistled the song's tune again.

Then he sang again, "Living without you. Living alone! This empty house seems so cold."

He took a step toward me, "Wanting to hold you. Wanting you near! How much I wanted you home!"

He took another step toward me, "But now that you've come back! Turned night into day! I need you to stay!"

Wayne smiled and he raised his arms high into the air, "So now I come to you!! With open arms!!!"

"Nothing to hide! Believe what I say! So here I am!! With open arms!!!"

He let his arms fall to his side, "Hoping you'll see! What your love means to me, open arms."

He whistled the song's tune and then he finally stopped. He was breathing heavily.

I smiled brightly at him, "That was amazing."

Wayne grinned, "Nah, it was nothing."

I shook my head, "No, it was...Beautiful."

He looked at me and said, "Thank you."

I cocked my head, "So what was the name of that human song?"

He smiled, "It was 'Open Arms' by Journey. That one is one of my favorites."

I grinned, "I...I could imagine."

He had a glum look on his face and he looked down at the ground, "Yeah." Then he rubbed the back of his neck.

I knew who he was thinking about and then I said, "Joanna would have been very proud of you. Just like I am right now." I put on a smile for him.

He raised his head and he smiled. Then he walked to me and wrapped his arms around my neck, hugging me. He dug his face into my neck and muttered, "Thank you."

I smiled and returned the hug, wrapping my paw around him.

Suddenly that weird feeling came back again.

Wayne pulled away and said, "Well I'm tired now. I'm going to bed."

I got up on all fours. The weird feeling still buzzing in my body. I muttered, "Yeah, lets go. I'm tired as well."

Wayne nodded and whirled around to head back to Neal and Cody. They're probably asleep by now.

While I was watching him walk away. The feeling still buzzed around.

I think I know what I'm feeling now. When Wayne sang that song to me, why I like being with him so much. Why Wayne reminds me of Eric so much.

Like I've come to fall in love with Eric years ago, now I've started to fall in love with Wayne.

I sighed. Wayne is not Eric. He may not understand my feelings.

Or would he?

Wayne seems to care a lot for me, I know him that much.

But...Can I really tell him how I feel? I wonder.
