“Aww, come on man!” Ceras groaned, moving his king after the last of his pieces was removed.
“Oh quit being a fledgling,” Lekor purred with a grin as his fingers traced over the game board like a master chef mulling over a selection of the finest ingredients to add to a gourmet dish.
“You could’ve gone a little easy on me.”
“Will the Grar’hel take it easy?” the fire-bellied male asked, his hand finally selecting one of his knights. When his brown-feathered companion remained silent, Lekor chuckled, “Thought not.”
“Well, you didn’t have to show off.” Ceras finally protested.
“Uh-huh,” Lekor’s beak hung open, satisfaction washing quickly over his whole face as he placed his chosen knight in the desired location. “Like you don’t ever have your ways of doing that yourself. Checkmate”

-Duranus has that shiny new gryph of his, I thought to get some art of our two boys.
