“I guess love is just not meant to find me, not that I can’t blame them, who would love someone like me?” A young, pretty looking wolf/fox hybrid said through a flat voice, talking to no one in particular as he trudged down the sidewalk to the local pub. The canines ears down, tail trailing on the floor as he entered the bar.
“Hey there darling” a handsome Coyote morph said as the hybrid walked on into the pub, making the young morph lift his head up in hope before someone put a paw on the Coyote’s shoulder and whispered into his ear. “Get out of here” he growled to him “I don’t go that way sickos like you do” the Coyote backed his words up with a show of teeth making the younger hybrid run to the bar with his ears flat again, his hopes having risen at first now crushed once again.
The name given for his crossbreed was a folf, but it was easy to mistake him for a female of his species with a pretty face, dense, soft fur and a full thick tail and a lithe, swimmer like build. His fur was a mix of ginger/orange and black with his belly fur an ash like colouration.
The clothing he wore was of similar colour to his fur and wore a tight hugging shirt that gave him an even more feminine appearance with his collar bone exposed.
And topped off was a set of beautiful, green eyes that further fooled others into thinking he was a female of the species.
“Hi Tenke how…are you alright?” a busty female Squirrel morph behind the bar counter said when she caught his expression “where is your…your boyfriend?” she said the last hushed as she knew what some of the patrons in the pub were like against his kind.
The folf named Tenke shook his head sadly “please…just get me something strong, I don’t want to talk about it” Tenke said as he plopped down on a barstool and buried his head between his paws.
The squirrel morph came back with a gin and tonic “on the house hun” she said quietly, resting a small paw on his slightly larger one.
“Thanks Alisha” he said quietly, she had been a childhood friend of his and even though they had drifted apart slightly, they still talked and hung out at odd times and she wished someone could make him happy. He was such a sweet canine that he deserved someone that wouldn’t take advantage, to see what he truly had to offer.
He sipped his drink without really tasting it as his mind seemed to blank out, staring dully at the floor. His last boyfriend seemed like the one for him, sure he was bisexual as opposed to himself who was strictly for guys, mostly the hunky ones really, but he thought they had been made for each other. That was until he found out his partner, a wolf named Cosch was going out with a girl behind his back.
When he confronted him he got all aggressive and hurtful with his words, even threatening. Fearing for his safety Tenke ran away from his ex’s house and cried before coming to here, just for the sake of drowning his sorrows out.
Alisha meanwhile had been absent from the pub, slipping out and letting a friend take over for a few minutes while she phoned up a friend who knew of someone she hoped would be in his line of taste. They may have used to of been going out in high school until Tenke discovered he was not attracted to women but the squirrel still wanted her friend to be happy.
Tenke didn’t even notice her walk back on in as she looked at her friend with a sad smile at seeing him so upset.
Tenke got on up from the stool, suddenly wanting to be alone and by himself instead of here drinking sad and alone.
“Later Alisha” he said with a whine in his voice as he deposited the glass that had hardly been touched. Not even looking at his friend he made for the exit, his tail dragging the whole time before the squirrel was in his face “Alisha, move!” Tenke growled as he glared at her with a showing of fangs.
“Oh, so you don’t want to stop at losing your boyfriend but you want to push me away too?” Alisha said, putting her small paws on her hips with her bushy tail waving in agitation.
She saw her canine friends head sink again as he shuddered, emotions making tears bead his eyes and run wet, dark trails down the black fur of his muzzle.
In a more soothing voice Alisha tried to comfort and reassure him, anything just to keep him here a little while longer as she led him to a table “Tenke, you will find someone, I am sure of it. Such a guy like you deserves to be happy” Alisha said, stroking an ear tip to calm him down.
Tenke whined, bobbing his head sadly, appreciating her trying to lift him up “thanks Alisha, I’m glad that I have you as a friend” he said, smiling sadly, a soft whine in his throat as he rubbed his head into her palm.

“I guess this is the pub my friend was on about huh? I wonder if this Tenke is as nice as his friend made out?” a handsome black wolf said as he walked to the pub. He drew a few looks from some of the patrons leaving the night.
His name was Ishtaar Kanza, a black wolf standing at six foot tall and wearing loose jeans and a tank top that showed off abs underneath his strong body and startling blue eyes.
Entering the pub, he looked around the place “cosy, in a way” he said with a slight smirk before walking on in. He was not searching for a place to sit, he was looking for a certain someone who fit the description he had been given.
Spying his target, he paused to look him up without giving away himself too much as he slowly made his way over to the bar.
Buying a pint of Guinness from the bar, he caught Alisha’s face and tipped her a wink which made her heart skip a beat before she remembered that he preferred guys to girls “sigh, what a pity” the squirrel said before she got interrupted by a customer demanding to be served.
“Why did she stop me from leaving? well I have had it, I will just end it all off a bridge or something like that, I am so sick of living” Tenke said, his ears plastered to his skull and his body shaking from the despair he felt, feeling so lost and alone it made him feel sick to his core.
Scraping his chair back and clenching his paws so that his palms bled from his short claws he stood up sharply…only to be faced with the most handsome wolf he had ever seen.
“Oh, are you leaving now? I was going to sit here for company that seemed friendly” the handsome wolf said, smiling slightly at the Folf’s wide eyed stare and slack jawed expression.
“W-well I t-t-that I mean…” Tenke stuttered before swallowing hard and struggling to tear his gaze away from the stranger’s eyes. His voice was so smooth and had a certain alluring quality to it
“Heh, he certainly is a very cute hybrid, that’s for sure” he thought before extending a black, large paw “my name is Ishtaar, you looked like you could do with some company so I thought I may as well sit with you” he said, sitting down with his drink and smiling broadly as Tenke did the same. “Could I ask of your name hmm?” he said in a slightly teasing voice as he continued to capture his green eyes with his dazzling blue orbs.
“Oh g-god, he is so handsome and…what-what should I do, um?” Tenke thought desperately before realising he was been asked a question.
“Uhh, T-Tenke Shiro, er nice to meet you” he said, breathing deeply in an effort to calm down, a number of questions tumbling through his head.
Taking a large gulp of his drink to distract himself, Tenke ended up coughing from the amount of alcohol, his vision blurring from the strong alcoholic taste.
“Careful there, go steady on that stuff” Ishtaar said in alarm, getting up quickly as he patted him on the back gently and rubbed gently until he had finished.
“T-Thank you” the folf gasped as his green eyes watered a little before he found how close the wolf was to him, his heart racing along with the beat of his tail. “Uhh look I-I gotta be going um, home” he said, his voice coming out in a high tone from nerves around this handsome wolf.
“Okay, let me walk you home then” he said in that same calm, kind voice as he helped him up, Tenke becoming all flustered and speechless as he was guided from the bar. Catching his squirrel friends humorous expression Tenke could feel his head swimming with the last large gulp of alcohol he had, but he didn’t need much sense to realise he had been set up by his friend.
Tenke’s muzzle lips twitched in a small smile as he silently thanked her.
They walked and talked a good bit; Thanks to the lingering effects of the alcohol Tenke was a lot more relaxed and open about his feelings and details, the more they talked the more he found himself drawn to this wolf. They were both looking for someone to make them happy and it was a bonus when Tenke found out Ishtaar was bi but leaned more towards men, something his last boyfriend was not clear with him as he just got a load of half formed answers or was ignored at times.
They reached Tenke’s small flat when convo ceased, Tenke stood there with his ears back at the thought of going back to his room, all alone and miserable. He was startled from his reverie as Ishtaar spoke up in his smooth voice “well, I need to be going back home to my flat, glad you got here safe, maybe we should meet up again Tenke?” the black furred wolf said, deliberately running his tail over the smaller folf’s body when he turned to leave.
First, Tenke’s breath caught in his chest as he felt his black, furry tail bush over his bare shoulder where his collar bone were exposed, his nose inhaling his powerful wolf scent as the tail rubbed under his muzzle before he took a slow, deliberate step away from him. It seemed as though everything were in slow motion as Tenke fast felt the icy grip of loneliness take a hold of him, he needed him, knew it, what if he rejected him though?
Ishtaar took a second step, his ears drooping as he hoped himself for something to happen, he knew Tenke needed him but also knew from talking how bruised he was from his last relationship.
The larger black wolf sighed and was about to just walk on off to end this, thinking that Tenke’s friend had made a mistake and made things worse on the poor folf when a trembling paw was at his shoulder.
Whipping round, he was confronted by the folf, looking down due to Tenke being a little smaller at 5.9ft, Ishtaar’s blue eyes went wide as he saw him, those green eyes bright and board into his own with the tears that shimmered in them.
“Are…?” He was about to say when the smaller folf flung his arms about him and buried his muzzle in his neck fur, crying softly.
“Please…don’t leave me, I want-want someone, I don’t want to be all alone” Tenke sobbed into him, he felt alive again and secure around this handsome wolf, he didn’t want to lose that, not again. He didn’t want another night of feeling alone and unwanted, this wolf seemed like a furry dark angel and he felt he would fall apart if he was left again.
Overcoming his initial shock at how fiercely he needed him, Ishtaar felt a happiness bloom in his chest at feeling so wanted, at having a partner to protect, didn’t matter what the world thought of them, they both felt something for each other that made them feel alive.
Wrapping his arms about him he said softly to him “no, I won’t leave you tonight little folf” he said, gently stroking his head and smiling as his bushy tail wagged behind his cute butt happily, hearing Tenke sigh into him.
They stared at each other, feeling something, a connection that they felt almost immediately upon first sight and seemed to grow as they spent more time around each other.
Tightening his grip before releasing him, Tenke smiled and squeezed his hand, the black wolf returning the smile, glad to see him happy as they walked into the small block.
Reaching the floor to his room, Tenke unlocked the door only to find that it was already unlocked, puzzled he opened the door to find out that his room had been ransacked with most of the items his ex had bought him missing and his remaining stuff vandalised.
“What the…?” Tenke said, his face showing shock as he looked at the chaos of his apartment, his ears plastered and his tail on the floor.
“Tenke…” Ishtaar said in a quiet voice and tried to put a paw on Tenke’s shoulder, but he just shrugged it off and dashed about, finding that nearly everything of importance was gone and his one picture that held him and his ex in the frame had a dagger through his image.
Tenke stood there shuddering, his anger boiling over as he began to growl throatily before giving a howl of despair and throwing the frame against the wall to shatter. His howl came out high with his mixed breed, howling again, leaping onto his bed and tearing and biting at the covers, the bed, the pillows, anything that used to be his ex-partners with his pupils becoming savage, small pinpricks.
“Tenke, TENKE!” Ishtaar shouted, his voice growling as he tackled him, pinning him on the ruined bed “enough please!” Ishtaar said in a strong voice, surprised at the folf’s strength as he wrestled him until Tenke just gave up and sobbed into the ruined covers. His home had been violated and the one he thought he loved had done the worst thing to him, Ishtaar couldn’t fault him but he had to calm him before he did harm to either of them.
“Shush Tenke…I know, I know it hurts. Come on, let’s get away from all this” the black wolf said, getting off of him slowly and picking him up, cradling the beautiful male folf in his arms and leaving the room.
Ishtaar ordered a cab to pick them up, the cab driver looking at the black wolf cradling the hybrid but quickly turned his gaze away at his icy cold stare. Tenke had passed out, his body needing the rest after the alcohol and the assault his emotions had taken.
Arriving at the small bungalow he lived in, Ishtaar gently carried his new love in, his strong body easily managing the effort whilst he tried to manage with the lock at the same time.
Having to use one arm made Tenke jolt a little and open his eyes before looking up at the face of the handsome black wolf.
Closing the door with his foot, Ishtaar looked down to see a pair of green eyes staring hungrily at Ishtaar, they spoke of despair, of hurt and pain. But also of something else that made him smile happily, the light he saw in those dark green eyes spoke of love, which is what they had both been searching for in the first place.
“Ishtaar…” Tenke said, his voice husky as he spoke the name before capturing his muzzle in his own, causing the black wolf to open his blue eyes wide out of shock before closing his eyes and kissing him back tenderly, a soft whine escaping his throat.
They both pulled away from each other connected by a string of saliva, both canines staring at each other before Tenke pillowed his head against Ishtaars chest “I can hear your heart beating, so I guess…you enjoyed that?” he said in his soft voice.
“Y-yeah, it was pretty nice surprise but…you are starting to get heavy so can I put you down please?” Ishtaar said with a slight groan, his furred arms shaking slightly from the strain of holding him for so long.
“Sorry, I…was enjoying the closeness, I have never felt so secure with anyone and I…well I wanted to stay like this, safe and feeling secure from everything else” Tenke said, his face heating up as a blush crept in under his fur.
Ishtaar smiled and gave him a soft lick on his head with his broad canine tongue “I know Tenke, but my arms will snap with your weight soon” he joked, earning a light bat from him as he set the folf down on the sofa.
Tenke’s expression took on a more sorrowful look and turned his head away, his bushy tail lashing and his small frame sagging slightly “you must think me stupid, getting into that state huh?” he said in his light voice.
Shaking his head, Ishtaar placed a paw on his bare furred shoulder, bringing Tenke’s attention back to him.
“No Tenke, I don’t” he said with a gentle nuzzle into him “but if I ever meet this ex of yours” with that he growled slightly before shaking his head to clear the rising anger at what this other wolf had put Tenke through.
Tenke put his arms round Ishtaar’s furry neck; reluctant to leave the contact “don’t…” he began, not wanting to leave his side.
Ishtaar smiled and placed a paw to his furry lips “don’t worry pup, I will not be going anywhere” he said, sitting next to the folf and putting his arm round his bare shoulders.
Tenke nestled his head under his chin, his small frame heaving a sigh of happiness as his bushy tail curled across his lap and spilled onto the dark wolf’s furred groin.
“I still can’t believe I have you Ishtaar, you are nearly too good to be true, I’ll have to thank Alisha for setting this up” Tenke said, a playful smile across his muzzle as he tilted his gaze to peer at Ishtaar.
The larger canine coughed before saying “you knew she was involved?” he said but in a playful voice, feigning surprise and shock.
“Yes, I am part fox, not much gets on by us you know?” Tenke said and with that he wrapped his arms about Ishtaar’s black furred neck as they both kissed passionately, whining happily into each other.
Their kiss grew more heated as their paws groped each other before Tenke’s paw dropped and fondled the wolf’s chest, running his paws over his muscled chest and feeling their combined warmth with each other.
“Tonight has been a long night my love, why don’t we go to sleep now?” Ishtaar said with a warm, friendly smile as he ran a paw over Tenke’s head and gently cupped his muzzle.
Smiling, Tenke yawned cutely before nodding in agreement as he allowed himself to be led into Ishtaar’s bedroom.
“I’m afraid the bed is rather small Tenke, sorry” the dark furred wolf said in way of apology as he waved a paw at the single bed.
“Then…we will just have to get comfy with each other won’t we?” Tenke said with a tired smile as Ishtaar returned it, laying at one end after stripping his clothes off as Tenke did the same before both climbing in.
Wrapping arms around each other, both male canines gave off a soft whine of comfort as neither of them felt alone anymore, the heady musk of the other acting as a sleeping dug to fill them with comfort and love, drifting into the most peaceful sleep Tenke could ever remember him having.
"This is what I have been missing" he whispered into the wolf's large ear, making him stir slightly "I have been missing what true love really is about".
