My lungs were burning. My arms and legs were sore and tired. Part of me wanted to collapse but I know I don’t even deserve that much. I picked up another big chunk of concrete that used to be part of a building and carried it over to the pile for recycling. Days ago, this area was once a shopping center. Both humans and digimon came here to buy stuff, chat, or whatever they felt like doing here.now it was just a pile of rubble and it was all my fault.
I dropped the concrete block on the pile and collapsed on top of it. My body was reaching its limit for today, it didn’t even register the pain of falling onto concrete. “Can’t….stop,” I struggle to say while pushing myself off the pile.
“Hey,” a worker said, “maybe you should stop.”
“No...thanks,” I walked to the rubble. My movement was sluggish, each step taking more effort then the last. I need to continue. I cannot stop now.
I felt a massive hand of a Leomon rest on my shoulder. “You should learn to head others' advice,” he said, “I know you humans can be stubborn, but you are basically working yourself to death.”
“I’m...fine. I can...continue.”
“You don’t sound like it with how long it took you to say it.”
“I said I am fine!” As I walk away from the Leomon, my legs give out and fall to my knees. My body didn’t move. Come on move. Move body! Why the fuck won’t you move?
“Don’t you see, your body has reached its limit. Hey you, can you take him to the rest area?”
“Yes sir,” a WereGarurumon picked up my limp body and carried me to the rest area. I didn’t have the strength to argue or fight against him.
The rest area was a small place with a few cots around for workers to rest their bodies if they get too tired. The WereGarurumon placed me on the cot without a word and walked away. I can’t stay here all day. I tried to move myself off the cot, but my body was continuing to not respond to me. Damnit, why won’t you move? Why won’t you fucking...move? Everything start to go dark

We were at the hideout of the digital terrorist group, Crackers. The raiding of the hideout was successful and my partner and I were tasked with sweeping the hideout for both more members and evidence.
We entered a room with a computer, desk and a file cabinet. I turn to my partner, “bound to me something here don’t you think, Regi? Maybe they have files on any of their attacks here.”
Regi, my MarineDevimon, just scoffs, “you think so? Do humans really keep plans like that in easy to find spots?”
“You know Regi, for being raised by humans, you sure don’t get us a lot.”
“I tend to think you are an outliner and really a human I can’t use as a reference.”
I sigh, “look let's just finish the sweep. You handle the system while I look through the desk and cabinet.”
Regi nods and, using his tentacles, starts to go through the terminal. I go through the cabinets.
Most of the things I found was junk data, completely incomprehensible to decipher. If I had to guess, it was probably info of the previous attacks they deleted as a safety precaution. “Found anything yet, Regi?”
“Yeah, but it is just a list of digimon.”
“Can you send it over to the union, we should have them cross reference it with missing person reports?”
“Can’t, it seems their system is closed. I can only send it to terminals inside the building.”
I pull out my digivice, “try sending it to my digivice, maybe we can send it to HQ that way.”
“I can try.” Regi typed away for a moment.
I felt my digivice rumble as he sent a copy of the list to me. I immediately forward the list to HQ and with a short message about what it is. The message couldn’t get through, “seems no messages can leave this building. I’ll send it when we leave.” I opened another cabinet. Inside it was a bunch of key cards with symbols on them. I picked it up and examined it. The card had a strange symbol on it. Underneath the symbol was some digiscript, “hey did you find any info about key cards on there system?”
“No. Did you find something?”
“Just a key card with a weird design on it. Could be a key to a private server or something. There is some digiscript on it as well.”
Regi stretched one of his tentacles towards me, “here let me see it.”
Without thinking, I handed the card I was holding to Regi and gathered the other card keys. Each one had their own design and was very distinct from one another. What did these cards do? HQ can probably-
My thoughts were interrupted by the sounds of Regi in pain. I turn around and see him writhing in pain as the key release bits of data into Regi.
“Regi!” I ran over, “Regi let go of the card. Now!”
“I...can’t...stop it.” he sounded like he was gritting his teeth. “You need to run. Tell HQ.”
“Run? What's happening to you?”
“I’m going to...digivolve...into something...strong. I am losing control. Get the other tamer and...Kill me.”

My eyes shot open. My heart was racing. My breathing was quick and erratic. It was a nightmare. Just a nightmare.
I look at my surroundings and see that I am still at the clean up site. Both Digimon and humans are still cleaning up the debery from the collapsed building.
I have to help them. I have to do it. I push myself off the cot. It's all my fault that this happened. I am the one who caused Regi to lose control and destroy parts of the city. I need to fix it.
Even if Command doesn't blame me for what happened, I don't see it like that. I was put on leave to recuperate, but I don’t have time to rest. I need to make up for my actions, but I know something. Even if everyone forgave me, I never will.
