In the Russian translation, they called the axe "a halberd with double-edged edges." Okay, whatever this strange weapon is, let it be a halberd. Axes are not uncommon in Redwall, and a halberd is worth its weight in gold.
Also, why should I check the information in the original edition so that the illustration is canonical? It annoys me.
