KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS

Furry of claws; Chapter seven; Dark wings
of steel.

Damithril and Rakshasi stood in front the
trading post. The inn on the road to the capital of the kingdom. In flight they
had not noticed the cooling of their bodies, nor the loss of blood. The two
dragons where bewildered with claw and sword cuts from the riders and the black
dragon. They scanned the area, no one was outside. A few horses where restless
in the stalls, they were work horses not one of a knights. “The king is not here” Rakshasi growled, looking at the wooden door
of the inn. “Shall we get some rest
anyway?
Damithril walked to the door, if they were to take on the king they
had to be in best condition. Rakshasi followed Damithril up the small wooden
stairs to the door of the inn. They could hear music and laughter coming from
inside the inn. With a deep breath Damithril opened the door, stepping inside.
Gazes turned to the new arrivals. Quickly a silence fell over the inn. Man
holding their family close together, children diving under the table. it was
clear that most feared for their lives. Rakshasi walked to the innkeeper, she
simply pointed the keys of the rooms on the wall behind the bar. Her eyes
glared at the innkeeper. “A room?” The voice of the innkeeper was shaking with
terror. He was a rather heavily build little male with a bald head. He had a
brown leather apron stained with mead. Rakshasi nodded spreading her claws to
receive the key.

“Demon spawn!” A male came from between the
crowd. he wore rather expensive looking cloths and a sharp sword. It was
decorated with a few rubies. A hunter’s sword. Damithril turned around, leaving
Rakshasi to get the room and some food. The crowd started to cheer for the
hunter. He walked up to Emerald dragon. “How dare you to show yourself here
demon spawn.” Damithril showed the hunter his sword. His own sword was laden
with gold and gems of all different kinds. The blood of humans and the one
dragon had still stained the sword.

“Dragon’s blood!” The hunter gasped, seeing
the sword stained with the dark red, nearly black blood of a dragon. The hunter
looked doubtingly at the two dragons, not knowing what to do. A dragon with a
hunter’s sword was clearly odd let alone one with a dragon’s blood stained
sword. Some voices started to go up in the crowd “Kill the demon spawn.”
Damithril let out a loud growl, silencing the crowd with fear. His claws might
be dull but his fangs where sharper than any sword could be.

The hunter lifted his sword till the tip
was pointing at the dragon’s chest. “You shall die none the less” Damithril
rolled his eyes, of course the hunter would attack and not give in to some
doubt. Damithril tossed the sword on the ground, he wished not to fight. The
clean state of the hunter’s sword indicated he had never slain a dragon. The
fact that he was doubting would mean he was still a rooky, send away from the
town to train in the capital. Maybe a messenger for the king for the
devastation. Damithril’s gaze narrowed, the hunter never seen Rakshasi or him.
what reason was given, Damithril found it a good time to stop a hunter without
spilling blood. The hunter gazed at the sword that was dropped on the ground.
Damithril could smell the hunter’s fear, the sweaty acid scent was an clear
indication that the hunter never even seen a dragon. “Rakshasi, re wux nearly
authot?” Damithril said to Rakshasi. “What
are you doing? Can’t…”
Rakshasi spoke trough the link. “No, I want to show this hunter who dragons are…not just killing
machines.”
Rakshasi snorted amused. “First
you kill a huge amount of humans, burning them in a horrible death…now you want
to change the opinion of a hunter? You are an odd one.”

“I
know what I did…”
Damithril hissed softly. His eyes
gazing at the human. “Just go with me”
The hunter did not move, his eyes gazed at the dragon. incapable to decide if
he should attack. “sjek wer isepl naktar tawuraic mrith ve” She replied to
Damithril. “You can talk!?” The hunter was flabbergasted, obviously never seen
a dragon talk before. Damithril gave a nod at the hunter. “Wait, you can
understand me?” was the next eye opener for the hunter. His mouth hang open at
the dragon. Damithril nodded again.

“Those dragons murdered my sister!” a
sudden voice came from the crowd, a rather tall and fragile looking man jumped
forwards. Grabbing the sword that Damithril dropped on the floor. “Wait!” the
hunter tried to hold the man back. Damithril looked stern at the fragile male.
He hoped he would not do what he was thinking to do. The tall human raised the
bloody sword high. “Die you beast!” he yelled out before driving sword first
forwards to the dragon “You got to be
kidding me”
Damithril surged at the futile attempt of the human. Damithril
swayed aside, letting the sword past his body. He proceeded to give a punch in
the human’s chest, bones cracking. The chest collapsed under the force of the
blow. The human was knocked backwards, falling on some tables with a lifeless
look in his eyes. The hunter looked angry at the dragon. “You murdered him!” he
raised his own sword accusingly. Damithril looked sharp at the hunter, ready to
strike again.

Rakshasi suddenly turned around, her gaze
moved over the room before she let her gaze fall on the hunter. She was done
with this child’s play. She pushed the sword aside, she used force to push the
hunter against a wall. She brought her growling yaws close to the hunter’s face
before letting the hunter drop on the ground. She could have easily killed him.
she hoped that he gotten the message, it might not be an effective way. As long
while it worked it was one that she was happy with.

“How
long do you think we can peacefully stay?”

Damithril asked Rakshasi while he closed and locked the door. They had gotten
the innkeeper to prepare a meal of meat for the two dragons. The meat was laid
out two large earthwork platter on a table in the room. Rakshasi moved her
clawed hand over it, humming some ancient words while she moved her hand side
to side. She gave an soft chuckle. “This
is cute. They try to poison us with Rika berries”
Damithril moved to the
meat, taking an good smell of the meat. He could not smell anything wrong with
it. “Let me guess it is not poisonous for
us?”
Rakshasi nodded with a smile “Rika
berries are poisonous for humans alright. For dragons however. We use the
berries for blocked fire-glands”
she took a nice juicy piece of meat to
devour it. Damithril was soon to follow, he was starving. It would be the first
and only  large meal for days to come.
Once they were on the road again they could do little to hunt large animals.

The night ran smoothly it’s cause. The two
dragons slept peacefully in the large bed of the inn. Damithril’s mind started
to wonder, wondering around in his own imagery of what was to come. His mind
running wild up on waves of images and dreams.

“Demon
spawn!” voices grew in his head. Damithril found himself flying around. He did
not know where from, he did not know where to. He found himself flying at
incredible speeds over the ground. What
was going on?
He wondered. Shouts from the background screamed the same two
words over and over again “Demon spawn.” He was flying over some kind of road,
he could see no trees nearby only large grass plains. Where am I? Damithril tried to get an idea of what was going on.
His body was limited, limited to only move in whatever was the designed course.
He had no control over his body, no control of what he felt. He was forced to
witness whatever the body did he was in. His eyes fell on the scales on his
body, they were dark green. Damithril could hit himself, course this would
happen again. those strange illusions of some life, ever since he had linked to
Rakshasi he had these illusions. They did not seem to stop. Just like this one
Damithril was dragged on the path. He flew fast, to the point of exhaustion.
Trying to get many miles between him and whatever was chasing him.

He
finally stopped when he was near a source of fresh water. Bushes protected
curious eyes from seeing the dragon drinking. Damithril could see the
reflection in the water, it was not his face. The dark green scales where
rougher than his face. The build was similar trough. His eyes housed a far more
animalistic look. Damithril was shocked to see the eyes, the gaze of hunger in
the eyes. He did not know who or what he was. Well maybe he had a little idea,
the other Damithril. It made no sense trough. Rakshasi was nowhere to be found
nor was he looking from her point of view. Damithril suddenly looked up,
somewhere a high pitched sound was audible. The sound came closer to closer to
the location where he was.

Suddenly
from the bushes a metal object shot past the him, just a centimetre away from
hitting. With lighting speed he took into the sky again, flying away from the
water well. He looked back only to see a few oddly dressed humans standing with
bows and strange throwing knives. Trying to hunt down the dragon from the sky.
Damithril could feel exhausting dripping down across his body. trying to keep a
flight, trying to get away from danger.

It
seemed forever since he last set foot on solid ground. his body could not last
anymore, he collapsed on the ground while landing. His wings tired, every fibre
of his body drained from strength. Damithril closed his eyes, panting hard
trying to catch his breath. Slowly he drifted off into a quite sleep.

“Dammit
Damithril wake up!”
he was woken up with an angry
Rakshasi. She had been shaking his body for some time now trying to get him to
wake up. “It is nearly past midday and
you have been sleeping all the time!”
she was truly pissed on him for
sleeping so long. He could feel it. “Sorry!
But…I don’t know what happened”
Damithril grunted, rubbing the sleep from
his eyes. Despite having slept long he did not felt rested. He was agitated and
restless. Rakshasi tossed him his backpack, looking with a stern look in her
eyes. “We go now! This morning a
messenger of the king passed from the town.”
Damithril was instantly awake.
He wasted no time to brush and near up his scales, he only gotten some cloth to
protect the wounds on his body. he forced Rakshasi to do the same, he would
hate to see her wounds infected.

With the wounds bounded up they rushed
downstairs. The humans who were still in shock after yesterday where whispering
quietly until the dragons snowed up. “Leave!” the inn keeper said angry to the
dragons. The dragons left, but not before tossing some gold on the counter.
Leaving behind one confused crowd. Rakshasi and Damithril took up into the sky,
flying across the road again. The king would not be far, if they would find him
they would finish him.

A few hours later the two dragon passed the
messenger for the king, it was a young body. “Should we kill him?” Rakshasi wondered out loud. She did not seem
to feel anything for killing anyone else then the hunters and the king.
Damithril shook his head, looking down. The body had spotted them and screamed
in fear. “He is innocent…better leave
him”
He turned his head to look forwards again. “Besides I wasted enough of the time”

“About
that”
Rakshasi continued to say between the wing
beats. “You wish to talk to me about
something? I can feel it on your mind”
Damithril gave a long silence ended
with a surg. “Alright, I had another
illusion…”
He started unsure where to start. “And?” Rakshasi started prying a bit when he seemed hesitant to
speak to her. “I don’t know Rakshasi, it
was nothing like I seen before…first it where the nightmares…eating from within
me. then it was with you…the mental melt the memories that flooded between
us…this was different…this was about me not us.”
Rakshasi felt a bit off
put, unsure how to put his words. “About
us? How you mean when it is not about us?”

“The
normal illusions where parts of your memories…even the nightmares had you as
core…this was nothing to do with it…well maybe a bit but…”
Rakshasi interrupted him “But
what Damithril, you can say it to me”
Damithril closed his eyes to prepare
for the upcoming fallout of Rakshasi. “I
believe I was experiencing everything from your dead mates eyes…before he met
you…he seemed younger.”
A silence fell between them, a silence that
Rakshasi did not know how to break.

“But” Rakshasi started stumbling. “You
might have…I don’t know met him before…that could explain your name and the
memories…”
she did not sound sure of herself, rather she was in doubt
herself just as much. “But wouldn’t I
then see it from someone else’s eyes”
Damithril suggested. “Yes you would…” Rakshasi surged, letting her eyes slide over the
winter landscape under them. “Damithril…I
have no idea what you experience…it sounds to me.”
she silenced herself,
thinking about what where the possibilities. Rakshasi’s mind drifted of when
she last saw her ex mate, pain filled her mind. A pain that made her only more
focused about the task at hand.

A
arrow had penetrated the next of the dark green dragon. Rakshasi let out cries
of grief. Just when she wanted to lay the last bound of the mate-ship. She was
robbed of her love. She could still see those eyes, cold pained eyes staring
from the dead body. should have sought revenge…she never should have left. But
she did it anyway.

Rakshasi shook up from the stream of
thoughts. Damithril was hovering rather worried near her. “Rakshasi!” he shouted to her again, hoping to wake her from
whatever she was thinking of. she looked disturbed at Damithril “Yes…” her mental voice soft, still in
the pain of her mate. “You were suddenly
gone.”
Damithril explained to Rakshasi. “I
was worried.”
She gave a small pained smile. “Don’t worry I have gone through rougher patches.”

She quickly sped up into the setting sun,
flying as far as she could. They could not find the king anymore today. The sun
had set, they were forced to land before there was not enough light to land.
Rakshasi growled angry, now they were cold and had no shelter. She hoped that
they would met the king by now, she hoped they would have slain him by now. She
saw Damithril walking over the ground. “where
are you going!?”
She called after him. he signalled her over. “We can’t fly…then we walk” He ended
with a short blast of fire to heat up his scales again. Rakshasi took a few
logs first. It was rotten wood that was still on a tree before she broke it
off. She caught up with Damithril. “Take
one”
she offered him a log before lighting it on fire. The tip of the
burning log was a welcoming heat to their scales. Keeping them warm against the
cold envourment. Rakshasi started to sing softly in her draconic dialect. The
two dragons walked on in the soft light of the fire.

The moon was height in the night. “Quiet!” Damithril hissed against
Rakshasi, stopping her from singing. He could hear something in the far
distance. He moved with her into the trees, they put out the fire on the logs.
They had burned a few logs already, having to find a new one after a few hours.
From the distance some voices came, laughing and telling stories. The two
dragons sneaked a bit closer. Soon they got a scent of burning wood, it was
clearly a camp. Rakshasi stretched her wings. “We take the camp okay. I want a warm fire!” she slowly crept
forwards.

The two halted on the edge of the trees,
they had the camp insight. The camp was in a small open place not far from the
road. The camp was surrounded by guards, hunters and even more sleeping. They
could count at least twenty hunters, five of whom where awake. The others
asleep. Every hunter had a horse. They were tied up against different trees.
The hunter slept around a centre fire pit with a red and golden carriage.
Blankets where drawn before the windows of the carriage.

“This
must be…”
Rakshasi’s energy started to light up. No
one else would travel with so many guards then the king. The two dragons at the
camp like predators who had to pick the first kill. They had to be quick with
killing the hunters. If they allowed the rest awake they would be overpowered
easily. “Rakshasi, if I sneak around the
camp? maybe we can spread fire over most of the sleeping hunters”
Rakshasi
looked again over the camp. she gave a soft nod. “Try to stand down wind…I don’t want the horses to smell us” she
softly walked a short distance with Damithril, standing ready for the attack.
It took Damithril a short while to get in position. Once he got almost caught.
One of the hunters was walking directly at him to take a leak. Damithril could
just in time made his leave from the spot.

“Ready?” Damithril gave a soft hiss, standing up slightly to be ready to
pounce. He could feel his heard pounding in his chest, this was it. all or
nothing. Rakshasi’s mind stayed out for a while, assumingly she felt the same
about the situation as he did. “on the
count of three.”
She sounded nervous. Damithril could not blame her. He was
shaking from the nerves himself. “One…”
Rakshasi started. Damithril searched for the first target to take. the unaware
hunters made an opening for him. he could charge forwards, burning the sleeping
hunters. “Two” Damithril stood read,
he had taken his target, he knew how to run. His fire was ready, his legs
stored an enormous amount of energy ready to be released. “Three”

There was no roar, only a silent hustle of
snow, two shades stormed to the camp. “what is…” one of the hunters could
barely say. A loud slashing sound was heard and a thumb of the hunter’s dead
body falling on the ground. the other hunters looked at their fallen brother,
they saw a furious dragon, sword in one hand, the head of the hunter in the
other. “Dragon!” the hunters shouted, trying to waken up their comrades. An
terror was felt trough the group of hunters, another growl was thundering the
earth. Soon followed by a flash of heat. When they looked around they saw
another dragon, spreading fire over their sleeping comrades. The clear fire
liquid dripping into the fabric of the bedrolls. Lighting them up like human
candles.

Within minutes the camp was filled with the
painful cries of burning humans. The scent of burning flesh filled the air. The
heat enlightened the rage of the dragons only even more. They were fuelled by
the new found source of heat, driving away the cold. The hunters where in
disarray, their morality had taken a deadly hit. With all their might the
remaining four hunters tried to stop the dragons. They failed miserable.
Damithril caught one of the hunters with his head between the coils of his
strong tail. Damithril snapped his head like it was just a twig. Rakshasi
rushed forwards, the orange flames of burning humans made creepy shades against
her deep purple scales. They could hear a voice coming from the wagon. Rakshasi
closed in on the last hunter who was still walking. The hunter’s blade cut
across her scales, she growled in pain. “Die you beast” he screamed trying to
slash his sword against Rakshasi’s neck. Damithril made a split second
decision, he took the shield of one of the dead hunters. He threw it towards
the only standing hunter. The shield hit the hunter straight in the side,
cutting through the skin.  Rakshasi
growled, blood dripped from the hunter down on her scales. She slashed the
hunter with her tail, breaking bones in his arm. Soon enough she scrambled on
her feet. She punched the hunter with all her might straight in the face,
breaking his yaws and his nose. The hunter was thrown from his feet, straight
backwards. Rakshasi kicked the hunter in the chest, breaking the chest bones of
the human. The human coughed up blood, drowning while the blood filled his
lunges. The door of the carriage swung open.

A rather muscular human came out of the
carriage. He was longer than most of the hunters, yet still shorted then both
Rakshasi and Damithril. He wore an scale mailed armour from old dragon scales.
The look made both the dragons growl in anger. “So this is the two dragons that
stirred up all the problems” His voice was authoritarian, a heavy male voice
that had an incredible amount of charisma. Rakshasi’s eyes narrowed into fine
slits, all her anger she collected to this point started to boil over. The king
showed his sword to the dragons, it was laden with diamonds and gold. The blade
itself was long and sharp. “Prepare to meet Satan” the king shouted out,
raising his sword to the dragons.

Rakshasi was the first to attack, she flung
her weight against the king. She tried to knock him from his feet. Even with
the impressive weight and strength of the dragoness, the king evaded most of
her blow. He swung his swords, was forced to see how the sword made a long cut
across Rakshasi’s flank. Opening up old wounds as well making new wounds in her
scales. The scent of dragon blood made Damithril’s instincts kick into
overdrive.  The dragon sprinted towards the
human king, a sword in his clawed hands. He flung the sword at the king, his
intemperance with the sword was shown clearly. The King evaded the blow, only
to made a blow of his own. Damithril gotten a cut from the sword across his
back, part of his wing-membrane was sliced up. He could no longer flee now, he
was stuck to the ground. His eyes narrowed to supress the pain. He turned
around, he stood and roared at the king. He tried to get him from balance.
Clearly the king had battled dragon’s before, He did not even flinch at the
roar that cracked the earth. Damithril unleashed a wave of hot fire. The fire
hit the king, whom screamed in agony as his face got scorched. What Damithril
did not count for was that the scaled armour withhold most of the fire’s heat.
Soon a glowing red blade sliced Damithril across the chest, stopping the
torment of fire. The king looked beyond rage, his face scorched black, his eyes
nearly gone. He was still standing. Rakshasi jumped from her sitting position
her rage enveloped the king. Her dulled claws scraped over his armour, her
teeth sank in his neck. Drawing up blood, she was like a lion making the
killing blow to a prey. Her head trashed from side to side, trying to rip of
the head of the dragon. Damithril could hear the neck crack under the trashing.
The grip form the human king loosened from his sword. The sword fell in the
ground, Damithril took it in his claws. “Step
aside please”
He said growling to Rakshasi. She looked with her furious
eyes at Damithril, when she saw the sword she understood. She moved aside, the
king glared at Damithril with his almost lifeless eyes. His breathing was slow
and shallow, his neck was a mess. The king was a dead man already, he might
have only a few more minutes before the fatal bleeding would cost him his life.
Damithril had other plans, even a few minutes where to many for this egg
breaker to life. He plunged the sword forwards, pushing it straight to the
king’s armour and into his heard. Killing the king with his own sword. The two
Dragons let out a Victorious roar.

Rakshasi walked to the fire pit in the
middle of the camp. she let herself fall down on the ground, bathing in the
warmth. Damithril dragged himself next to Rakshasi, sitting in the glory of
their victory. Today everything would change, they brought justice for the
dragon empire. Damithril tended to Rakshasi’s wounds, cleaning them up. he
found some clean clothes to close the wounds from more bleeding. Rakshasi laid
her head on Damithril’s shoulder while he did. Her gaze moved to his cut
wing-membrane. “Damithril…” she
gasped in seeing the destroyed membrane. “Your
wing…
” A cold shiver ran through her voice.
Damithril did not care about his wing, he was still cleaning Rakshasi’s
wounds, something much more important to him.

“Let
me”
Rakshasi gave a commanding growl, she forced
Damithril to lay down on the ground. she worked his back, cleaning and closing
the wound. She could not get cloth around the wound. Her gaze went to a metal
dagger near them. “Don’t more, this will
hurt”
she said, taking the dagger. She heated the metal until it was
burning hot. She dragged the metal over the wound, burning it closed. Damithril
roared in pain from the burning. “Sorry”
she softly said, cooling of the wound with some water. Her gaze went over to
the cut in Damithril’s wing membrane. The membrane had ripped itself out during
the fight. Rakshasi spread Damithril’s wing out. “Your wing…let me” she cooed to him slowly. Biting down in the
membrane to make holes across the side. In the holes she looped some thin
leather bounds to close the wing membrane together. Damithril hissed in pain as
she worked. He let her do her job without much protest. It was an ugly patch on
his wing. Rakshasi knew that these kings of cuts in wings would not heal, they
best they could hope for was that the membrane would heal enough so he could
fly. As finishing touch she tied up his right wing, preventing it from
stretching and ripping the membrane of. “It’s
the best I can do
” she silently said to him, overlooking her work.
Damithril would be left with a lot of scars from this, maybe even more then she
would have. A silence fell between them, the adrenaline from the fight rushed
of.

The silence was broken by a roar coming
from the carriage, it was a dragon’s roar. Rakshasi tried to stand on her legs,
forgetting Damithril  laid on top of her.
She hissed and pushed the dragon from her. He too tried to stand up, hissing
when he was pushed away. rather clumsy the dragon’s got on their feet. Watching
with watchful eyes at the carriage. Another roar came from the carriage. Soon a
large golden dragon stepped out the carriage. His build was bulky, he was
taller than Rakshasi. His scales looked like he was covered in gold, his eyes
red like fire. The dragon gazed over the camp, the dragon gazed at the human
king who was impaled by his own sword. The dragon’s voice was one that seemed
to shake the earth with each word he spoke. “Si ocuir wux tepoha slain sia
lincesa” The dragon looked straight at the two with burning eyes of hate. “What the…”  Damithril started. Pets? These hunters where
his pets. “Svaust re wux?” Rakshasi demanded, she hoped she was not right about
what she thought.

“Bahmarix! Saar di shio wux ocuir!” The
dragon thundered with his voice. “Egg
breaker!”
Rakshasi swore to Damithril “Bloody
egg breaker!”
her anger grew. Damithril was hit by silence, this was the
king? He pulled of the same joke as that black egg breaker of a dragon, hiding
from the humans behind a human puppet. “svanoa tiliw wux svent dout kurjh
cirau!?”Rakshasi wanted to know how it drove a dragon to murder his own kind in
cold blood, or order to do so for that sake. The dragon laughed, his laughter
echoed through the quiet forest. “Because
you stupid rude useless flaps of scales…”
The dragon, Bahmarix was in their
head. The violation of mind filled Damithril with anger, an anger that joined
Rakshasi. “My clan is power! You could
have joined my clan Rakshasi, you would be a fine bride. I would never let that
black subject take a dragon as fine as yourself.”
Rakshasi’s mind filled
with disgust, how would a egg breaker ever think he could be with her. “vi
darastrix hefoc wux jalla loreat!” she refused to join in the mental combat of
the king. Her mind was only for herself and Damithril. “Oh, you little ignorant dragoness, for what you have done to my
kingdom and my pets you and your human of a dragon would die.

Damithril looked at the dragon, what did he
just call him. He growled, insulting the king in the tongue of dragons “Si mi
throdenilt Vs'shtak hak wux, vrantvrak sventar”

Bahmarix laughed at the insults from
Damithril “Come, come. I know of you.
Little human from another time waking up in a dragon’s body. I never thought
you would life this long. Well it has been fun, killing you and putting you in
a dragon’s body after half a life of humanity.”
Damithril’s head went into
overdrive, was this egg breaker of a dragon responsible for all that happened
to him? would he be the cause he had humanity? “Don’t listen to him” Rakshasi tried her best to shield her words
from the dragon’s reach. “Wux vrantvrak sventar vucot ehis di svabol ui
gethrisjir shafaer.” She straighten her back at Bahmarix, roaring out. “Oh but I know what is going on…You and
Damithril have some so far to kill me. Nothing you could do can stop me. I am
stronger then you both, I am king of man and dragon. My clan is jarl of every
town in my kingdom…well only one town was left. The one you called home. That
is taken care of as we speak.”
Rakshasi’s mind flushed to her home town.
She would set everything right when she came back home. Right after killing
this egg breaker. “I don’t think words
will stop you two but still…You can life as my servants, maybe even members of
my clan…”
Bahmarix’s answer came through the medium of a rock thrown by
Rakshasi. The rock hit him square between the eyes. The golden dragon roared,
spreading his long fangs and claws. “kepla'nas ekess loreat!” He roared,
jumping at the two dragons. Rakshasi dived away, letting the dragon slide past
her. Damithril dived to the other side, he was not fast enough. Bahmatix got
hold of his tail, he dragged Damithril to him. he started slashing down his
body. Damithril tried to defend himself, keeping him from attacking his most
fatal parts. He could feel blood gushing out with every slash of the scales.
His vision blurred in the visions attack of the dragon.

He could her Rakshasi roar, she threw her
full weight at the dragon, throwing him off Damithril. Her bitten down at the
dragon, starting to rip parts of the dragon’s scales of is body. she was beyond
reason. The dragon had killed her father, her mother, her mate and now was
about to kill Damithril. Her body ran on pure animalistic instincts. Only a
gaze to Damithril’s clawed body would be fuel enough for her. Damithril was
forced to lay and standby watching how the dragons fought each other. He tried
to stand up, his muscles failed him. Rakshasi was thrown of the back of the
dragon, blood from the dragon flowed over her scales. Bahmarix gave a warning
roar before a wall of flames came at Rakshasi. She was nimble enough to drive
away from the flames, countering with a wall of her own hot fire. Bahmarix
being bulkier then Rakshasi gotten the full force of Rakshasi’s fire. His
scales blackened under the fire. Rakshasi wasted no time to jumped at the
dragon again, tearing at his hide. She tried to get deeper into the wounds she
already opened. Blood spilled over her scales both her own and Bahmarix’s
blood. With a hit of his wingarm Rakshasi was thrown of, a large claw cut
across her side as the claws hit her. She hissed at herself for having dull
claws, then she could have easily taken this dragon. She tried to jump away,
trying to evade the tail whips of the dragon. She failed, she was thrown to the
side against a tree. She hissed, trying to breath more fire to keep the dragon
of her scales. The fire hit the dragon’s side but little it did to stop him.
The dragon was ready to slice down at Rakshasi. She could see death in the
claws.

Damithril roared out an intensive fire
against the dragon’s back. burning and scorching the dragon’s back and wing
membranes. The dragon turned around, showing to Rakshasi how the fire had eaten
away most of the wing membranes. Bahmarix stormed at the dragon, his claws
slashing at Damithril. He span away, avoiding the claws slashing at him.
Bahmarix got hold of the leather bounds on his wing. He moved his claws to cut
the braces away, showing the leather straps to keep the wing membrane together.
Bahmarix let out a roaring laugh. His claws tugged at the leather bounds. Damithril
closes his eyes, feeling tension building in his wing membranes before…

Rakashasi saw horrified how Damithril’s
wing membrane was ripped a pieces. The dragon pulled un the membrane until only
the wing warm was left. Hot blood flowed from Damithril’s wing. He roared and
shaken in pure agony and pain. Rakshasi moved quickly, she might be too late to
save the wing but it was no excuse to let him die. She jumped at the dragon,
biting down on the dragon’s neck. Bahmarix threw himself aside, trying to work
the dragoness from his neck. Her teeth shrunk deep into his neck. He wanted to
slash out to the dragoness.

Bahmarix screamed in agony, in pain. He
looked to his arm to see that his clawed hand was chopped clean of. Damithril
stood with the king’s hunter blade in his claws, a furious look in his eyes.
Bahmarix collapsed on the ground, allowed Damithril to give another slash on
the dragon’s body. he slashes at his wing arms, with two hits of the blade it
detached from the dragon. More blood kept pouring out. Rakshasi broken the bite
in the dragon’s neck, allowing Damithril to unleash hell with the blade on the
dragon. He put all his bodies strength behind each cut of the blade. Part by
part he cut open more and more of the dragon’s scales. Rakshasi got hold of a
sword of her own, joining Damithril in cutting open the dragon. Together they
took turns on hacking down the neck of the dragon. It took them five slashes of
the blade before the head came loose from the torso. The head rolled over the
ground, lifeless eyes of the dragon stared up into the night.

Rakshasi collapsed on the ground, her
muscles burning and shaking with the last energy they still had. Damithril
rested on the top of the show, his body screaming in pain. The two dragons
looked at each other with pain and tired faces. Damithril looked at the
carriage, then at the Rakshasi again. Rakshasi nodded, getting the last energy
she had in her legs to walk to the carriage. Damithril dived into the carriage
after her closing the door for some midnight rest. Blood of the two dragons
filled the carriage. They had succeeded but was the cost of doing so to much?
