Armando Alighieri Reference
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
Ref sheet for one of my oldest OCs. He's named after Dante Alighieri becauser I was onto a big mediaeval kick.
Armando Alighieri is a white fox who's also a werewolf, born in a part of Germany that corresponded to Prussia. He was born in the height of the Black Death and survived but not without some effects. His father remarried after his mother died giving birth to him and his stepmother was not kind, often cutting his rations of food as they fell deeper into debt.
The family farm became unprofitable and thus was sold to cover costs. He left to become a mercenary, taking odd jobs where he could. Eventually a fox called Renard in the general German town of Stokk gave him a contract as bodyguard for a reclusive Dutch merchant but this was not to last forever as several things happened.
Firstly the recluse still managed to die but no one could have saved him. Second, an invasion from Denmark was announced and Armando answered the call of the bugle to defend his country. And third, he had to flee the city as he accidently killed the daughter of a pub landlord and the law was looking for him. So he went to war then had a lot of fun as a mercenary and after that was sorted, the law caught up with him and he escaped by falling off a cliff. Then found out he was immortal two weeks later when his body had reformed. I had a lot of fun developing this part.
Since then he has lived and died and lived again. Still a werewolf, still very much immortal and a little bit mad.
Fun fact: He's Dutch-German. One of his uncles was a trader in Amsterdam.
He can speak German and Dutch although his accent is out of time and sounds odd, even to German ears.
As an immortal he has an unusual ability of channelling pleasure and pain. It's a very useful knack. It doesn't work on himself.
His weapons are a long hand and half sword made of black-reddish starmetal. It's not magical. The hand crossbow is however and requires only one bolt that magicallt returns.
He's essentially my OC with the most hubris. He's based on Micael Moorcock's Elic of Melnibone, but I added a furry twist and a twist of madness, cruelty and general tiredness of immortality to the mix.
