CHAPTER 1 - Turf War in the Big City
Outside of a giant metropolitan city, a giant, yellow and black dinosaurian beast was seen resting peacefully, unbothered by the sounds of everyday life going on with the humans as their fuzzy tail wagged unconsciously. People coming into the city took photos of this sleeping kaiju but not even the camera flashes and excited squeals of those who never saw a sight before were enough to wake them from their slumber.
The kaiju would roll over to their stomach and continue to sleep like this for what felt like another hour, leaving a massive yet shallow hole outside of the city limits. Yet not even the people who were called to check for damages awakened such a beast. Nor did the scrubbing of their feathers and cleaning of dirt made so much as a stir.
Just as the beast went deeper into their Dreamland, giant footsteps began to approach.
Immediately, everyone who was scrubbing and cleaning the Kaiju fled into the city for safety. Most of them went to their homes and prepared to enter their shelters.
The yellow beast stirred a little, the stomping only getting closer and closer. By the time they had fully woken up, another Kaiju stood before them. A black Tyrannosaur with red streaks all over its body grinned at them before cracking its knuckles.
"What are you doing here…" the yellow raptor asked, still processing the trauma of waking up.
"Oh, nothing much. Just here to reclaim my turf from a weakling such as yourself, Axel." The Tyrannosaur retorted in a deep, arrogant voice before letting out a laugh. "After all… we know full and well you only won last time because of your little distractions."
Axel's eyes widened in shock and anger and their claws clenched into a balled fist, trying not to let their feelings get in the way.
"Take it back, Razju."
"Awww, is someone having feelings for these insignificant little creatures~? How adorable."
"At least I'm not a heartless bitch."
"Least I didn't fall in love with one of them. What was their name? Ji-woon?"
"YOU WILL NOT DISRESPECT MY LOVER LIKE THAT!"
"What are you gonna do about it… weakling?"
The belligerent Kaiju, Razju got into a fighting stance while Axel was unable to keep calm from the Tyrannosaur's constant bullying.
"I'll tell you what, let's make this fun. Whoever admits defeat first will lose the right to be this city's protector. Do we have a deal, Axel?"
"Razju, you…"
"Alternatively, if you decline, I'll simply let the people know how much of a weakling you are to rely on the little ones to defeat me~."
And that was when Axel threw the first punch straight to Raz's jaw. The Tyrannosaur stumbled back in genuine shock before wiping his jaw.
“Heh… not half ba-”
The raptor punched him again but this time, Raz caught their fist and tossed them aside before Axel got up and spun dashed in retaliation, spikes growing behind their back before striking Raz hard. Raz attempted to push the spinning raptor back but wasn’t strong enough to stop them as he was sent flying into the countryside.
However, the Tyrannosaur Kaiju didn’t show any signs of giving up and bounced back on his feet to shoot a fireball from his mouth, the flames flashing a bright purple through his sharp teeth as the raptor ducked. Unfortunately for Axel, the purple fireball hit one of the towers in the city. Turning back and hearing their screams for help tucked at the raptor’s heartstrings enough to fully anger them.
“How… HOW DARE YOU?!”
“Oh, so you really do care about these little twerps? I thought I was just poking fun at you~.”
Razju laughed at Axel’s face, watching the raptor suffer from their kind heart. He couldn’t help himself, it was always fun seeing the poor yellow raptor cry. Especially when it came to tiny humans, who were significantly inferior to them both in every way.
“You…”
Axel began to charge up a powerful breath attack as purple and black particles began to glow around their entire body. But the Tyrannosaur wasn’t having any of it and lunged in an attempt to stun them and prevent Axel from using their breath before suddenly…
Axel hit him back with an empowered headbutt, blasting a faceful of mysterious energy onto the Tyrannosaur!
“What the..?!”
“I’M NOT LETTING YOU HURT THESE PEOPLE!”
Axel’s fur would suddenly begin to turn purple. Their eyes glowing a faint gold as rage and hurt took over their once rational mind. The aura around them felt much more powerful and not one to be messed with.
Razju was taken aback by Axel’s sudden powerup.
“Fine. I was planning on going easy on you, twerp. But if you’re gonna bring it all out…”
The Tyrannosaur’s claws suddenly transformed into molten rock before he brought them together to punch his fists.
“THEN LET’S GET DANGEROUS, AXEL!”
Raz let out a loud roar, a warcry of his.
“But first… let’s take the stage somewhere else, shall we?”
Suddenly, the two dinosaurian kaijus would begin to float up far from the city, far past the thermosphere and exosphere into the cold, black emptiness that was space. Far from the planet that was Earth. Raz grinned wildly at the now black and purple raptor as his scales turned orange with molten lava.
“I’ve waited millenia for a fight like this…! A fight for the entire universe to witness! Don’t disappoint me now!”
Raz threw the first punch, but Axel was quick to step to the side and knee him in the stomach before spitting that mysterious energy at him again and tossing him at a nearby star.
“Yes… YES! SHOW ME MORE OF THAT FIGHTING SPIRIT!”
The lava kaiju grabbed the star that he landed on top of and threw it at the raptor, causing it to explode. Axel took the full force of the explosion but was still standing– or rather, floating–, rushing through the remains of the star and throwing an impossible amount of scratches after pouncing in signature raptor style.
Raz growled then threw Axel off of him after a few deep scratches before rushing in for a punch-kick combo. Molten lava burned through the opponent but the raptor eventually overpowered the giant Tyrannosaur and threw him into Mercury before flying down to the desert planet and pinning him down with their claws. At this point, both dinosaurs were weakened from their power usage and damage done to each other.
“So. Do you admit defeat?”
“Ha… I do.”
Axel was surprised by this… humble response from Razju, an arrogant douchebag.
“I finally got what I came here for… a fight that the universe can bear witness to. And with that… I’m satisfied.”
Raz slowly sat up and smiled warmly at Axel, both kaijus going back into their normal forms.
“Thank you… Axel. For showing me your fighting spirit.”
“...I…”
The yellow raptor looked down at Razju, blinking in disbelief as they let the giant Tyrannosaur go.
“I know you must be so confused right now. Me bullying you for what feels like an eternity just for a big fight up in space. But I promise we can discuss this when we’re both rested. Does that sound good to you?”
“...I suppose.”
“Sweet!”
Razju lay back down and closed his eyes, resting on top of the sand. Axel simply shrugged and lied down right next to him. But not before the Tyrannosaur whispered into their ear, something which caught them completely off guard.
“I’m sorry.”
Axel didn’t really know what to say. Sure, holding a grudge against someone was something they learned as a bad thing but on the other hand… Razju did go out of his way to harass and belittle the yellow one for the crime of existing.
So Axel simply responded with a “I’ll think on it.” before closing their eyes and drifting right back to the Dreamland they were meant to go to.
