I did a thing.

For a while now I've wanted to make something akin to an avatar for Carbon. The little guy has some odd features that are hard to explain in just words (and took a lot of visual prototyping to even draw). A good example is how his eyes handle mostly non-visible energies but shift to visual ranges with proper filters (like spiffy glasses!). The hardest by far is the almost metallic hair which even I can't figure out in 2D.

The style is a bit lacking in my opinion, but it's not too shabby for a first attempt. My painting style also lends better to simplistic shapes, so a cartoonish style might be in the works soon enough. Maybe if I get a little further into this I'll have enough samples to get a proper reference sheet made. That's assuming I can ever get the facial patterning consistent, as that never looks right to me from drawing to drawing! :3
