[Note] Once again this is entirely Avalore's fault. XD While dorking around in WoW together, it was discussed that I don't have enough sketches of my OC's in my galleries, while I have plenty of Yuuhi, the rest of the 'family' from my world, and storyline however have been neglected, this includes but is not limited to Yasha, Touya, Ashura, Itsuki, Koukuen, the Four Gods (Suzaku, Seiryu, Byaku, and Genbu who I'm dying to sketch his "God Form"...), minor characters such as Vanyel/Shinsen, And several others. So while watching him doodle on a project of his own, I sketched up a profile picture for Yasha. He looks so stoic/regal... I have no idea why the sketch turned out that way, maybe it's just his method of emphasizing that he IS a King.
==============================
I had seen him sitting near the window and looking out over the land, the look on his face seemed distant… far away, and yet closer to me than I had ever thought possible, in a single instant I could remember being small, tucked in his lap after the raucous scream of a thunderstorm, still fit with tears and trembling, my fears of the noise and bright flashes barely ebbing as he held me close and smoothed the short ruffle of my hair.
He had pointed out towards the gardens then, and replied. “Do you see those flowers there?” In my haste to get away from the storm, I buried myself in his hold and shook my head, not wishing to look out for fear that the storm would return and blind or deafen me. In coaxing, he offered my head a gentle nudge and had me look out upon the world, where the blooms he had spoken of lay and replied.
"In nature, the storms cause significant damage, though it may not seem so at first, divots in the earth allow for floods of water to invade the smallest of spaces, to us, this merely makes the world muddy and hard to walk through, but for something as tiny as an ant, the work of a storm is as devastating as a hurricane on a once peaceful plateau, and yet they do not linger on the loss of life or material possession, but rally together to recreate something greater than what the storm could tear apart. Do you know or understand why it is such simple creatures that hold more closeness to the gods, than something as complex as a human does?"
Sniffling, I could not understand what had brought him to ask me such a thing, but in reflection of the story, many questions were brought to mind and I offered a reluctant shake of my head, though he knew I would have had a million suggestions or answers, it was in admitting I did not know that he smiled at me and returned:
"Because dwelling on the anguish of the past, means you do not have enough of a clear mind to focus on the future. When one subjects themselves to suffering their losses and focusing on the doubts, anger, and fear or sorrow, they lose sight of what is in front of them, and forget that they are one, of many, whom can accomplish great… and wondrous things."
