KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS

\n So anyway, I found this one lying about on the hard drive of my old PC I now use as a rental for gaming at the local LAN meets, figured I may as well post it. This was written in.... '07? If memory serves? Around there abouts anyway. Just a short tale about my Character in his younger years (As should be evident by the desitinctive lack of 21 tails).

\n

\n Alas, Not my greatest work, but not to shabby in my own oppinion. Enjoy!

\n The sun was just cresting the horizon on the open country road as a pair of figures leaped from behind a white sedan, smoke pouring from the open hood. The two Keynari (An Anthropomorphic Fox like Species) could have almost passed as Identical, save for one having 12 tails and the other only 11. Their fur was jet black with white along the bottoms of their muzzles running in the classic fox patterning down their chests and white tips on their ears and tails. a thin streak of red fur was visible wherever white met black, separating the colours like a fence. Both wore thick black snow gear to counter the winter cold. Jackets, gloves, pants, the lot. Whips of air rose from their muzzles as headlights appeared through the fog in the distance.

\n Down the road from them, a Bulky green armored Bank Van slowed as it approached the frantically waving pair, the driver flicking his indicator on and slowing to a halt behind the smoking car as his window came down and he leaned out to speak to the pair of travelers.
\n The twelve tailed Keynari spoke up, his accent clearly British. Tourists. Great.

\n "Oh, thank you so much for stopping, our Car broke down and we've been stranded here since early this morning. You fellow's don't have jumper leads do you?"

\n

\n
\n The driver leaned over to his partner in the cab, opening the glove box as a loud click-snap of a pistols slider being drawn back seemed to shatter the early morning air. He turned slowly to be met with the Barrel of a Glock-20 and a widely Grinning Keynari hanging onto the open window Behind it.

\n "Morning Gents. You've just been Jacked."

\n The Truck flew down the Icy road, the Pair of Keynari In the cabin howling in unison before laughing loudly, Having left the two armacar guards in naught but their briefs taped up in the back of the sedan. The 11 tailed Keynari in the passenger seat worked quickly to paste their photos over the ID on the guards badges before they reached the bank.

\n "Pick it up Owen, Schedule says pickup is at 0830 sharp."

\n Owen fumbled with the photo before quickly pasting it over the old drivers and sliding it back into the plastic casing.

\n "There, done. Unless they want to get them out and do a bloody check to make sure no-ones gone and pasted fake photos over the real ones, We'll be fine Fox."

\n He handed the small plastic ID clip to his brother, who quickly clipped it back onto the belt of the stolen uniform as the small rural town came into view. their target was straight ahead, an older granite building showing some signs of aging with a row of ATM's in the wall along the main street. The armacar grunted in protest as Fox worked the gears back to slow the van down, Before pulling into an ally behind the bank, heading for the staff entrance. The moment he stopped, the pair disembarked from the cabin, strolling around to the back of the van and opening the rear door, pulling a trio of sports bags from the back each, one in particular making a loud clatter as it hit the concrete of the car park. Owen slung the 5 empty bags over his shoulder as Fox opened the sixth one, Tossing a glistening SPAS-12 combat shotgun to his younger brother, who gave it an appreciative nod.

\n "Just like ol' times, eh' Isiat?"

\n Fox grinned, pulling the second rifle from the bag, a Heckler and Koch G3. He snapped the bolt down, A satisfying Clack coming from the mechanism before he stood up, walking towards the steel door in the back of the bank and pulling a ski mask down over his muzzle.

\n "Yep... Just like old times."

\n A trio of knocks later and a young lady opened the staff door, looking straight down the barrel of Owens shotgun as he used his forward hand to pull the door open and push the woman back inside along the corridor.

\n "Sorry about this, We just came to make a quick withdrawal."

\n They emerged behind the teller's counters, Owen leading the way as fox fired through one of the glass teller windows, knocking out a roof mounted camera on the far side of the lobby before climbing over and firing a few more rounds into the roof, a few screams of terror and fear as people dove to the ground and the lone bank guards face met the stock of the German rifle with a loud "Thwack". Fox surveyed the lobby quickly before making his announcement.

\n "Ladies and Gents, Good morning. This Is A Robbery. If You'd be so Kind as to all stay on the ground with your hands behind your heads, we Can get through this in as little time as possible, with me having to waste as little ammo as possible. This benefits us, Because ammo costs money, and It benefits you, Because you don't end up with any more lead in you then you came in with. OWEN! How's It Coming!?"

\n The Second Keynari's ski-masked muzzle appeared behind one of the teller windows.

\n "10 seconds."

\n Fox strode quickly to the broken window, leaping back over the counter as Owen tapped a small black PDA, the wireless signal from it going to a small receiver attached to the 4 wads of C2 lock buster placed on the hinges to the large steel Vault door. With a sharp "Crack!" and a waft of smoke, the hinges to the door were blown apart, and the door teetered on end for a moment, before resting still, Managing to stay balanced upright. The pair looked at each other a moment and Sighed, Isiat pointing a gloved paw at his brother as he slung his rifle over his shoulder, taking up a position on the side of the spinning handle on the center of the door, Owen doing the same on the opposite.

\n "Your fault."

\n "I told you to use C4!"

\n "And What?! Blow the entire lobby away?"

\n "Well at least the Door would be open!"

\n "Oh, Cram it, On 3. 3!"

\n Both Keynari heaved on the door, rocking it slightly, Before pushing against it and heaving again, Slowly rocking it from it's resting place. It teetered on end for a moment, and the pair Dived out of the way as the Half ton door fell towards them, Crushing through the plaster wall separating the Vault from the lobby with a deafening Crash and a cloud of plaster dust, as both looked into the lobby at the dozen or so people on the ground looking back at them. Fox pointed his paw to Owen again and gave a nod as he spoke.

\n "His Fault."

\n 6 Sports bags crammed full of Banknotes were hefted into the back of the Armacar, as fox slammed the door before moving back into the bank quickly, Passing Owen on crowd control as he stepped over the Vault door and into the small concrete room, Looking through the various safety deposit Boxes they had busted open before reaching a still sealed one.

\n Number 528.

\n A loud crack broke the relative silence as the 7.62mm bullet punched through the thin steel lock on the door, and it was wrenched open by the Grinning Keynari. The contents were a simple steel Samsonite Briefcase. Fox quickly pulled it from the box, and flicked out his PDA from his breast pocket, checking the E-Mail for this particular Job.

\n "Bank At attached GPS Coordinates. Safety Deposit Box Number 528. The Contents Are In A Steel Briefcase. Bring Them To The Attached Coordinates Once You Obtain Them. Payment Will Be To The Sum Of $250,000 USD for the Briefcase + Whatever you can carry from the Bank."

\n Fox grinned as he slung the rifle over his shoulder and gave a wave to Owen as he marched past towards the back exit, Owen spinning on his heel before he ducked down the corridor after Fox.

\n "Now, If you'll all remain here until the Law enforcement agency's arrive, They'll be able to help you. Please don't make any attempts to escape or warn them earlier, As we will be monitoring the Police radio, and We'll be back to kill you if you do."

\n He gave a short laugh before sprinting out the exit to the side of the Van, Isiat already inside with the engine running. The Gears grinded loudly as the van turned about, leaving the Bank carpark through the same ally it had entered. The pair removed their ski-masks and sighed as the town faded into the distance, a police cruiser pulling up in front of the bank barely visible save for the flashing lights in the rear-view mirror. Both Keynari laughed and a quick high-five was in order as Fox gave a mad grin and looked into the back, checking that all six bags were still there.

\n "How the Hell did that possibly work?!"

\n Owen chuckled loudly and ran his paw through the wad of $100 bills clasped in it.

\n "My genius plan, Your brawn and a shite-load of pure dumb luck, that's how."

\n The pair continued laughing until the white Sedan on the side of the road came into view, as they pulled up in front of it, before climbing out of the Armacar and tapping on the rear windows of the sedan, the muffled cries of the original security guards just audible.

\n "Aww, they even kept it warm for us."

\n _______________________________________________

\n The pair of guards stood shivering in the middle of the road, still taped around their wrists and feet and over their mouths with their clothes neatly piled in front of them, as the Sedan pulled out from the road, giving a quick honk of the horn with a pair of paws waving from the occupants as they drove off.

\n "And next time, don't get your feet on the upholstery!"

\n Fox laughed as the windows came up, shaking quickly in his seat as the heater warmed up, glad to be back in his Snow gear and away from the cold for a change. A pair of police cruisers sped past them in the opposite direction a few miles down the road, but besides that, they encountered no other traffic before reaching the Highway around noon, the sports bags and briefcase piled neatly on the back seat. Owen flipped through the last open bag, Piling wads of the notes back into the bag before zipping it closed again and turning back to his Brother grinning Madly. Fox gave him a quizzically look and cocked his head to the side curiously.

\n "How Much?"

\n "Lots."

\n "Exact Figure?"

\n "6 Bags, Wads of $100,00 piled to the brim in each along with the various Valuables, jewels and such from the safety Deposit boxes. Add it all up, we have about 12 Million in notes, and an extra 700k in Valuables, give or take some."

\n The Pair grinned at each other before Howling out in unison and laughing madly.

\n "Just another day in the office, eh?"

\n "Aye, once we drop the case, we can clean the notes, and then go Retire. You can get that Villa in Havana you had eyes on last we were there."

\n Owen nodded and rested back in his seat with a grin.

\n "You know what, I think I'll just use the savings from our last Job and buy the whole damn island it was on. Get that, nice collection of cars, private Submarine and I'll be cracking."

\n Fox chuckled and shook his head with a grin as the Sedan passed the green sign representing the Border and another successful contract.

\n "Ha! A submarine? Now that, I'd like to see..."
