Over the Valleys by Racktor (Commission)
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
This commission was drawn by racktor! Go check it out in their gallery here.
Raising hatchlings requires tracking down a lot of prey to feed them, which means Hueroc spends a lot of time on the wing, on his own, drifting over mountains and valleys searching for something to bring back to Ellora and the young ones. Sometimes he's almost devoid of thought, doing little more than leaning on his senses and tracking, considering where he might find something worth catching, but other times, it's a good chance to be alone with his thoughts, and giving him a chance to reflect on things.
And he can't help but be... proud of himself. He can soar over what's a very impressive territory, full of life and variety and wonderful scenery like the river he's flying over now, high rocky bluffs of mountainsides, valleys, cliffs, clean air, everything a dragon wants--everything several dragons want, as it's not just his of course, it belongs to his mate and his little dragons too! He's done well to find her, and to make them, and he can feel content. He's got everything a dragon should hope to have and accomplish, not a care but hunting the day's meal...
It's a good life. He's so happy he found it, or it found him. Now he just needs to find something to get his claws into.
