\n This is my first Furry story. I know that I've got a problem with not going into enough detail... 

\n I've always hated my tail. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's nice to have, and it keeps my balance and all... But it just makes me feel even more abnormal.

\n My name is Brent and I'm an anthropomorphic fox. There are only a handful of us in the world. About 250,000 or so to be precise. You see, at one point, we cracked the human Genome. We cured countless diseases and saved millions of lives. Then, some crazy scientist started playing God. He spent years trying to combine animal and human DNA without causing one to reject the other. After twenty some years, he finally did it. He risked so much on making his daughter a feline. She was the first Fur.

\n He was the second. He wanted to "look how he always felt." After a while, people started to come on board with the idea. Some at least... We still have the "pure camps" that task themselves with preserving humanity.

\n Hate Crimes against furs is fairly common in my town. People here have never been very understanding of anything different. It's total bull, but... whatever. Not like you can change their minds or anything.

\n The Fur movement has been gaining steam recently. We've had a few pretty big movies made that depict the subject honestly. A few recording artists have gone through the procedure. The thing that really pushed it though was electing our first Fur president.

\n Tomorrow is the start of junior year and well... I'm scared. I need to get my grades up this year so I can get my GPA high enough to apply to college.

\n Easier said than done.
\n
