Okay so... last year, back during Pride Month I did a bit of research and discovered I share a LOT of traits found on the Aro/Ace spectrum. I drew this up for Ace Awareness Week that same year, figuring it would be a good time to come out and reveal that I'm on that spectrum. Turns out I'm both demiromantic & demisexual!

Basically I have a hard time opening up to folks. I can be personable and friendly (my job kinda requires it), but something like intimacy isn't something I've ever been able to get into easily. Maybe it's my introvertedness, I dunno, but I never really saw the appeal in romance or sex with someone I didn't fully know and trust. Not that it's bad or anything, but I'm just uncomfortable with the idea of doing anything without that trust. I guess it's no wonder I've never really dated before. I've always preferred to make friends first, and see what happens from there. It allows me to get to know someone first and build a relationship.

So yeah... I'm not fully Ace, but being Demi is close enough, and to be honest, I'm comfortable with that ^_^



...and yep, that's why the feather in my earring is purple.
