Young Little Frogs
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
No longer tadpoles, these are actually just really young little frogs.
So many pictures of blurry little frogs that were unusable. These small things were very patient with me moving the phone closer to them carefully. I was amazed that this one let me set my hand down next to him so I could have a picture that could give a little bit more scale to just how tiny these were.
I have no idea how many of them were around. The most I saw at one time this size were three. Two brown ones (this one being more grey-brown than the other) and a greener one (who while easier to see in the dirt, wanted nothing to do with being near anything that could help give folks an idea of scale.)
There were also two sizes bigger I saw today, though I could hear -- after they'd gotten used to me silently sitting next to the pond -- several of the larger ones serenading the lady frogs.
Sure, a lot less than in the spring, and the water is no longer thick with tadpoles, because these are this years main batch of tadpoles.
