KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS

Once upon a time, there was a bee keeper. He liked to tend his bees and loved. In fact, this bee keeper said he cared for them very much. Almost like his own sons and daughters. You see, this bee keeper never married anyone. He lived alone in a shack that doesn't have the comforts you may have to call it a 'home', but he liked it there. He called it home.

Now, one day, the bee keeper decided he should check up on his sons and daughters to see how they were doing. Some were sick, but that wasn't a biggie. They would be all right. As the bee keeper left, he thought he was forgetting something. Still, he shrugged it off and carried on. It must not be very important, as he has next to nothing to be able to live comfortable. Oh well, he thought. At least I have my bees and the honey they give.

After he left the forest in which his 'farm' was located, a bear strolled by and looked at the bee hives way up high. The bear knew it belonged to the bee keeper. In fact, the bear was meaning to communicate with the human, but he suspected he'd shoot him instead. Or at least scare him off. The bruin just shrugged and looked up again, noticing a small bee named Bartlebee.

"Hullo, Mr. Bear. You shouldn't be here. Lest I chase you away and poke you." Bartlebee said, waving his tiny sword at him. Mr. Bear just smiled and waved.

"Hello Bartlebee. I was just making my way through here. Thought I'd try and talk to the bee keeper."  The small bee nodded his head.

"I believe that. Carry on, forest dwelling animal."

The bruin just smiled again and left, amused by the mannerisms of bees. They were a rather bland bunch, but bee's and bears barely be together, as the bear eats honey, which the bee made. Anyways, bees believe that they are the 'master' race and other animals weren't. Still, they don't cause a lot of trouble and always gives a warning before they attack. Polite creatures, these bees are.

The bee keeper then remembered what he forgot and ran back to his part of the forest and checked his bees. They were all right, which was great. He stooped down below a gnarled looking tree and moved aside the stiff, sticky grass. There, he saw the picture. On this certain picture was a picture of a beautiful looking forest. Birds were flying, a bear was behind a tree and looking at the photographer... The grass looked healthy, the tree's looked like they were in perfect condition and best of all, it was sunny. Though, there were some little fluffy clouds in the back ground that caught the suns rays and looked a bit pinkish.

He smiled and pocketed the happy picture and stood up. I wish I was there, thought the man. I would feel the nice, long grass between my toes and the warm, lively wind brushing against my skin. It would be paradise...

The man turned around and was startled to see a big, bulky, brown bear walking to him. He tried to scream, but he knew it was impossible, for his voice was stolen by It. Then, he turned and tried to run, only to bump into the bumpy tree and knocked out.

Bartlebee saw that and tried to help, but all of a sudden, It came and took the tiny wings of the bee. Afterwards, he fell to his death.

The bruin gasped and looked at the poor bee. It was dead, yes, for the small sword was staring at the bear through the poor bee's head. The bear then looked at the man, who was twitching every now and then. The bear slowly went towards the man, scared he might scare the unconscious human. By the time he had gotten there, darkness fell upon them, but that wasn't new. It already was almost dark anyways.

The bee keeper then started to regain conscious and felt like a presence was near him. With a quick peep, he saw the same bruin and tried to inhale, but, alas, no noise came out of him. Instead, his chest rose, which indicated he was, indeed, alive. He quickly closed his eyes and waited for his death. Fortunately, or unfortunately, no pain came and Death wasn't helping him up.

The bruin then licked the human, and decided he was dead. So, he took a quick bite of the poor mans ear, which immediately let the bee keeper (try to) scream and his hand immediately went to his ear, trying to stop the bleeding. Alas, the bear could do nothing, but try and whisper positive things for the poor man and lick the blood, trying to slow it down.

As the man was (silently) screams, some bees saw this scene and decided to tell the other bees. So, they did. But before the bees could go and get back up, It came and quickly took their arms. They screamed and quickly flew back to their hive, wondering if they'd survive now.

The bear continued to lap up the blood, wishing he hadn't been so impulsive and bite the guy's ear off, but he was hungry. All the other animals (like rabbits and mice and much, much more) had disappeared when It made itself present. Then everything went downhill from there. Life became hard to get by since it turned into an apocalypse; heck, it became meaningless to the majority of humanity since It kept taking their limbs, but leaving them alive for each other to kill. The predators (like our bruin here) try to be nice to the humans, but they are all arrogant and believe that animals like wolves (and many more) are meant to be killed.

So, they kill humans in self-defense. It told them it was okay long ago, but now, It was angry.

As these thoughts were running through the bears head, he began to notice that his tongue was starting to heal the bee keeper's ear. Happy at the sight of this, he began to lick quickly, hoping that the poor man would be able to hear again. A few minutes later, the man was as good as new, if not a bit shocked.

He got up and petted the bears head, thanking him inside his mind for he couldn't make a peep.

"I was wondering if we can be friends. Uh, sorry for scaring you and biting your ear off too. I didn't mean to, but I am desperately hungry."

The man just nodded and motioned for the furred animal to follow him. The bear complied and followed him, asking him a question now and then, only to get a shake of the head, a nod or a shrug from the man.

"Are you mute?" The bear finally asked, looking at the man. The man nodded. Then the man motioned for the bear to look at the shack he lived in. It looked run down and drafty; something a bear was used too. And it was isolated as well. The bear smiled and nodded.

"Yeah, it is a nice looking place."

The compliment from the big predator let the human grin and hug him.

Only for the bear to bit the mans head and quickly shake, killing him effectively.

I was hungry, and I had to eat... Sorry Bee Keeper. It had to be done... thought the bear, who was happily eating and licking the brain and eying the other parts of the man.

The End.
