Five Years Later

It's been five years after Roxanne left, and even I still remember everything that happened around that time. I still never forgot about her.

If you're wondering what happened to me, Daniel, Amy, and Miley after all that has happened. Well about two years after all that happened, me and Amy got married and we have lived in the summer home for quite a while.

Me and mom still talk to each other, after Roxanne left, mom left the hospital, and me and Miley told her everything that happened to us. Of course mom wanted to meet Roxanne but she understood why she left. Even after all that has happened, me and mom still talk to each other.

Miley went to college after she graduated from high school and got a degree in science. She now lives in Seattle. But even when she lives in the city instead of our hometown, we're still close. We talk to each other on the phone almost every day now. I miss my sister though, but hey she has to grow up sooner or later.

Daniel....Daniel is pretty much still a uncle to me. But sometimes when we talk to each other, he still thinks about Roxanne. How much he misses her, how much he wants to see her. I can't blame him one bit. I want to see her as well. He still works at the bar in town as a bartender.

As for me, like I said, I've never forgotten about her, she's like a mother to me. I still remember her story about how she was watching over me when I was a little boy, how she took me flying on her back for the first time, how I saw her transform into a Pegasus for the first time that night, how she was talking about her feelings towards Daniel, how me and her stargaze near the lake at night, how she felt happy here, with me. Sometimes I even dream about her, that she came back to see me.

I was sitting on the porch at my house, and I took a glance at the barn that she slept in during the night. I sighed at the memories, I wished we could have made more together.

I was in my own thoughts when my beautiful wife Amy interrupted them, "Hey Frank."

I looked at her and smiled, "Well hey good looking, what's shaking?"

Amy laughed, "Maybe my ass, that's probably what's shaking." She went to me to give me a kiss, I accepted it gracefully. Then she sat by me, "Can I join you?"

I nodded, "Please do."

Me and her were just sitting here, just the two of us staring at the lake. I sighed.

Amy looked at me with concern and said, "You okay?"

I put up a smile and said, "Yeah." Then I went back to staring up ahead.

Then Amy got the idea, "You're still thinking about her, aren't you?"

I sighed again and nodded.

Amy said, "Hey mister, I know that you miss her and...You still think that she might come back. But it has been five years already and....Honestly I don't think she will ever come back."

I didn't say anything, but stared ahead, I only said, "I know Amy."

She wrapped her arm around me and leaned her body on me. I said, "Amy....Do you remember...Everything that happened five years ago?"

She nodded, "I remember everything."

"Well...Everything that has happened around that time, it was all because of me. She came back to me after so many years, after I moved back here form Seattle. If it wasn't for me, she wouldn't have come here. And you know....I really am glad that she did. Because if she didn't, I wouldn't have forgiven my mother for everything she has ever done to me."

Amy smiled and said, "Well you know what? You made her happy as well. You taught her how to love someone and told her to pursue it. You really changed her and she changed you for the better."

I smiled at the thought, "Yeah, I guess you're right."

Amy then said, "Frank...How's Daniel doing?"

I answered, "If you are wondering if he still thinks about Roxanne. Yeah he does, he really misses her. In fact he would od anything to get her back. I know I would if I was in his shoes. Because let me tell you something." I looked at her, "If something happened to you, I probably would have searched the whole world just to find you."

Amy smiled, got up on her feet and said, "Come on Frank, it's late. You haven't slept for two days. You need to rest."

I looked and I said, "Give me a minute."

She nodded and went inside, and I was alone.

Roxanne...Will you ever come back?

I slept pretty well in bed, very close to Amy. Wrapped my arm around her, holding her close. I have to say, she's one of the best things that have ever happened to me. I wish Roxanne was here to see it.

Suddenly I felt parched and I slowly unwrapped my arm from Amy, slowly snuck out of bed and went out of the room.

I went downstairs to the kitchen to get a glass of water. I took a very long sip, quenching my thirst. I put the glass in the sink and I was getting ready to head upstairs when I saw something outside through the window. It was white.

I gasped, then I went to the front door, put my shoes on and went outside.

I was standing on the porch when I see Roxanne standing outside with a smile on her face.

I smiled back at her, "Roxanne."

"Frank."

I ran to her and gave her a hug. Oh god she even feels real. It's not a dream after all. But then a scary thought went through my mind. I pulled away from her. And when I did she cocked her head, "What's wrong?"

I was scared that she was going to get into trouble when she comes here to see me, and I said, "Roxanne, what are you doing here? Did you come here alone? What if the gods-"

She interrupted me, "Don't worry about the gods, they won't care that I came here."

Now my brain is filled with questions, "Huh? What do you mean?"

"The gods decided to let me come here at least every once in a while. They knew how much I missed you and miss Daniel."

I smiled at her, "Really? So you won't get into trouble again?"

She shook her head, "No, you don't have to worry about it."

I giggled, and then I hugged her again, "I miss you so much."

She shushed me, "I'm here now, You don't have to miss me anymore."

"I'm glad, you...You just have no idea."

She said, "I know."

We stared at each other for a long time and I finally broke the silence, "So uh....How was life back at home?"

She nodded, "It went good, although I do think about you a lot."

"So do I."

Roxanne asked, "So...How's your sister? Miley? What happened to her?"

I smiled, "She's at college now, in fact she went there for two years now. And about mom, me and her still talk to each other. And I'll tell you something...There hasn't been any animosity between us for five years."

She beamed at me, "That's great! I'm glad your mother and yourself are on good terms."

I nodded, "Me too. And how's your best friend? Louis?"

"Louis is good. He has a mate now, and he has a family as well. I'm very happy for him."

I smiled at her, "Good."

"So how's Daniel? How's he doing?"

I closed my eyes and sighed, "He misses you, he misses you a lot."

Roxanne closed her eyes as well, "So do I."

I stared at her and said, "You okay?"

Roxanne said, "A little bit. You see I came here tonight, to tell you something."

I took a step toward her, "Tell me what?"

She put up a little smile and said, "I have a daughter."

My eyes went wide and I said, "Really?"

She nodded, "You see it was just one night, a few months after I came back home, one night I felt a kick and then I realized that I was pregnant."

I tilted my head, "Oh really? Who's the lucky father?"

She laughed and then she got serious, "Well I never even mated with one of the Pegasus back at home. You see the only person that I mated with was..."

I asked, "What?"

She sighed and then she answered, "I was a mortal around that time, I mean it just happened. And one night when I came home, that's when I came to the conclusion that it was-"

"Daniel?"

She nodded, "She's Daniel's child. She's a Pegasus just like me, she's so beautiful and I cherished her so much."

I giggled, "Wow, Daniel never had a child. He's never going to believe it."

She giggled as well, "Yeah, he would be so happy."

I looked at her and said, "You know you can still see him. After all he still thinks about you."

Roxanne smiled, "I will. Its just going to take a lot of guts to tell him."

I smiled and said, "Well speaking of getting together, you remember Amy? Well me and her are married. She stood by me and kept your promise."

Roxanne said, "That's good."

I nodded, "Yes it is, and you're not going to believe it."

She cocked her head, "What?"

I smiled at her, "Amy's pregnant."

She gasped and said, "You're going to be a daddy! Oh Frank I'm so proud of you!" Then she wrapped her head around me.

I giggled, "Thanks Roxanne, and you know I was afraid you would never have this chance to meet my child."

She simply said, "You would make a great father. Just like yours."

I smiled at that statement, "Thank you very much. Well at least me and you will see each other again, you spending the night here?"

She nodded, "Yeah but I'm only staying here for three nights and then I have to get back home. That's the deal that the gods have made with me. Just as long as I don't reveal myself to any more mortals not ever again."

I laughed and said, "Sounds like a good deal to me."

Roxanne smiled and said, "Well listen I'm tired so I'm going to the barn now. Goodnight." Then she started her trek towards the barn.

Before she could walk any further I said, "Hey wait I almost forgot."

She looked back and said, "What is it?"

"What is your child's name? Did you ever came up with one?"

She nodded and said, "I did, it's Miley." She smiled.

I smiled when she told me. Aw, she named her child after my sister. Then I started to have tears forming in my eyes and then I ran to her and hugged her tight. She wrapped her head around me.

I knew you would come back mom. I knew you would.
