This chapter has been written especially as a gift for a very good friend and character, kashito91 as it is his birthday on Friday 13th November 2009. Loboron and I would like to wish kashito91 a very Happy Birthday.

Chapter 31.
Today was going to turn out as being a very special day indeed for three inhabitants of Doberman Manor, for today was Matt Bond's birthday. The day started out much the same as any other, me being held in Tony's loving paws, the sound of Res heading into Matt's room to wake the sleeping mouse.
But something was amiss, Res knocked upon our bedroom door, so I gave him the all clear to enter, once inside I could see a look of worry on Res's face.
"Wolfie, have you seen Matt this morning? I have just gone to wake him up but he is not in his room"
I look at the clock on the bedside table, 06:30 showed on the display, far too early for Matt to be up and about, and then I remembered the days date.
"Res, try looking in the kitchen, I bet he is doing himself a birthday breakfast"
Res left our room and headed down to the kitchen only to return five minutes later.
"I have checked the kitchen and the living room and there is no sign of him"
This now had me worried, I got out of bed and quickly threw on some clothes and headed downstairs and out to the garage where all our vehicles were kept only to find that Matt's Cadillac was missing. I ran back into the house and picked up my cell phone and dialled Matt's number, after four rings Matt answered the phone.
"Wolfie, I knew that you would be calling, before you start shouting and balling at me for forgetting Res, I will tell you where I am and what I'm doing here. I am at our old place on the Isle of Man; I got an anonymous message on my phone late last night simply telling me to come alone and to be prepared for a surprise. I know that I am running a huge risk; I also know that it could be a trap, but something told me to do as I was asked. Now I hear someone coming so I will hang up, and don't worry, as soon as I know what is going on, I will let you know"
With that said, the line went dead, leaving me seething about the fact that Matt had been so gung ho with respect to his safety considering the position he now held at Dobersoft.

I look at the clock again and see 17:00 on the display, I suddenly hear Matt's Cadillac pulling into the garage, I rush out to the garage closely flanked by Res, both of us ready to rip the mouse apart for making us worry so much, as we enter the garage I stop dead in my tracks, sure Matt was home, but he was not alone, standing either side of Matt were two tan furred mice that I hadn't seen in quite a while, Throttle and Stoker.
After god knows how many minutes I regain my composure, standing before me was the now ageing Stoker and the very mouse that saved my life all those years ago; Throttle. Throttle is the first to speak.
"It's been quite a while Wolfie, I see that you have been busy, let's see, you've killed Vinnie Van Daz, you've got yourself a cushy number working at Dobersoft, you have got yourself a new mate, and if you don't mind me saying so, you've also gained quite a bit of muscle tone, and according to Matt you and you're new mate have adopted a young Wolf as a son"
For a moment the air was thick with the sound of silence, and then suddenly I charge at Throttle and throw my arms around him and hug him tight. I had my head resting on Throttle's shoulder, I look behind him and I see Stoker, I pull away from Throttle and make my way towards the ageing Stoker, I then speak to the ageing mouse.
"I know that you will probably hate me for what I did to Van Daz more than anyone? All I can do is offer my apologies for the way things turned out, but the way I saw it, it was either me or Van Daz that had to die on that faithful day, and the fact that he had gone rogue meant that Van Daz had effectively sealed his own fate"
Stoker's neutral facial expression didn't change for quite a few seconds until I saw a glimpse of a weak smile begin to show onto the General's muzzle, then he made his reply.
"It is true Wolfie, at first if I had spotted you out in the open, I would have killed you myself, but after a while even I could see Van Daz's roguish ways, they got more and more severe until eventually I instructed Throttle, Vinnie and Modo to follow me out of MI6, from there we went underground until two days ago, that was when we got word that Matt had not only found you but had also joined the very company that you worked for, so I decided that it was time to let bygones be bygones and to try and get back in touch with Matt, you and Wolverine"
The tan furred mouse then threw his arms around me and hugged me as tight as his weakening frame would let him and continued to speak, though this time with a hint of crying in his voice.
"For the love of Mars, I have missed you, Matt and Wolverine so much"
I led Matt, Throttle, Res and Stoker back into the house; we headed into the living room to find both Tony and Loboron sitting on the edge of the couch. I introduced Stoker and Throttle to my son and my mate, it was now Throttle's turn to speak.
"Well Wolfie, I have to compliment you, you have a very cute and obviously very loving family. It seems as though what you're mother said on her death bed has come to fruition in a sense, you have become an Alpha, and from what I can see, a good one at that, I know that she would be very proud of you right now"
Hearing Throttle talk so eloquently about my mother and my family brought tears of happiness to my lupine eyes.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
We spent the next three days catching up on old times and allowing the two mice to meet the rest of the guys, on the final day Stoker took me to one side and spoke.
"Well it's time for us to go, but we won't be going far, we have found ourselves a place just outside of London and we are in the process of moving in, in fact Vinnie and Modo are there right now arranging things, much to the dismay of Modo. Know this, if ever you need us just call, and we will be here in a shake of a mouse's tail, now we will say our goodbyes to Matt and then take our leave. Ride free Wolfie Steel"
Whilst Res drove the two mice down the driveway, Matt and I stood at the doorway watching them leave; I turned to Matt and spoke just three words.
"Happy Birthday Matt"
