\n Part 33.

\n

\n Having returned home from our Parisian meeting I head into the main house to collect Loboron from Wolverine. My brother meets me at the bottom of the staircase with a worried look on his face.

\n

\n “Ok Wolverine, what’s wrong?”

\n

\n Wolverine takes me into the front room and sits me on the couch and then makes his reply.

\n

\n “Bro, it’s Loboron, something isn’t right with him, he hasn’t left his room since you left, and Todd Styles has been taking his food into him”

\n

\n I let out a deep sigh and head up to Loboron’s temporary room. Once there I knock quietly on the door, the door opens and a weary looking cub stares back at me.

\n

\n “Son, what’s wrong? Uncle Wolverine is quite worried about you, and I must say that I’m getting worried too”

\n

\n Loboron hugs me and begins to cry, he then makes his reply.

\n

\n “Dad, I’m sorry but I don’t want to live the life of a bodyguard’s son anymore, I don’t get to see you as much as I used to. I know that you are busy with looking after Uncle Linkin but it’s like you don’t have any time for me anymore”

\n

\n I dry my sons eyes gently with my paw as a lump forms in my throat, have I really neglected my son so much, I guess that I have, I guess that I’m not cut out to be a father. I place a gentle kiss on my son’s forehead.

\n

\n “I’m so sorry son, you know that I love you, but with my job it is kind of hard to make time for family. So what do we do next?”

\n

\n Loboron cowers back slightly as he readies himself to make his answer.

\n

\n “Dad, please don’t get mad at me, but I have met someone at school, another male, his parents tell me that they always wanted a brother for their son, so I want to go and live with them. Please don’t think that I don’t love you and daddy because I do, but my friend’s parents don’t work all that much so they will be able to give me more time. The day that you and daddy came to the orphanage and chose me was the happiest day of my life, and if you were to find a new normal job maybe I could stay, but I also can’t ask you to give up the job that you and daddy love so much, so it’s best that I move into my friend’s place. I promise you this much though, I will come back and visit if you will let me”

\n

\n He licks a stray tear from my eye as I pull out my cell phone and dial Tony’s number. Tony arrives at the main house and we both sit down with our son and talk about things, in the end though it is decided that it would be best to allow Loboron to move on to his friend’s place, where he will have more love and attention than Tony and I could ever give him. I decide to take him around to his friend’s place so we pack up all his clothes and computer and stuff and I drive him to the house.

\n

\n I pull up at a Tudor style mansion, in the doorway stand two adult foxes and Loboron’s friends. Tony, Loboron and I get out of the car and head towards the family. Loboron turns and kisses both me and Tony goodbye with tears in his eyes, then his friend takes him inside whilst the two adult foxes come towards us. The Vixen speaks.

\n

\n “You must be Loboron’s fathers? I must say that in the short time that Loboron has been with you, I know that you have made a difference in his life. Please don’t feel as though either of you have let him down, the job of a bodyguard to a fur like Mr Doberman is I’m sure a twenty four hour job. You have both tried your hardest with Loboron and it shows, neither of you have anything to feel ashamed about, sometimes these things just happen. I assure you Loboron will continue to be well looked after, continuing what you both started, and anytime that Loboron wishes to visit you, that will be fine by us. Now my husband will help you bring in Loboron’s packages”

\n

\n The adult fox helps Tony and I unload the car and then heads into the house closing the door behind him. Tony can see that I’m crying so he gently kisses me and takes the car keys from my paws.

\n

\n “Come on love, let’s head out, the longer we stay the harder it will be for you to let go, I guess Loboron was just too young for us to handle. Give it a week or so and we can see if there is someone older who would be able to understand about our work. One thing I know for sure, you are not to blame yourself for any of this, both of us gave Loboron as much love as we could give, but it just wasn’t enough. Remember sweetheart, when you fall from a bike, you get up, you dust yourself off and then get right back onto the saddle again”

\n

\n With that, Tony wrapped his loving arm around my waist and led me back to the car. He drove us back to Doberman Manor where the great fur was waiting for us to arrive.

\n

\n “Wolfie, you and Tony look like you could use a stiff drink, so park your butts on the couch in the front room and I will get us some drinks”

\n

\n Tony and I do as instructed and minutes later Senior Doberman walks back into the room with a case of drinks. He puts the case down on the floor and hands us both a can, he then takes one for himself and then sits in the chair opposite us.

\n

\n “Ok guys, I know that what you have just done is the hardest thing you have ever had to do, but, I also know that you made the right choice, Loboron has had to adjust to being cared for by two of the busiest bodyguards around, and you both made him feel loved and wanted, it was just a pity that work eventually got in the way”

\n

\n We downed the rest of the drinks almost as a way of drowning our sorrows. This is I hope the lowest low point that Tony and I will reach in our life together, but one thing is for sure, I have the love and respect of one of the most beautiful dogs in the world, a Rottweiler named Tony.

\n

\n It has now been two weeks since we had handed Loboron over to his new family and as is the way of things, Tony and I are back at the orphanage keeping an ever watchful eye on Senior Doberman as he makes his donation.

\n

\n As we watch, the Doberman’s stubby tail begins to wag at a rapid rate, and both Tony and I know that Senior Doberman is up to something. Sure enough Douglas Macleod makes his way over to us.

\n

\n “Mr Steel, I heard what happened with young Loboron, I’m upset that it didn’t work out with you, but you have made sure that Loboron is safe and well cared for, so that is something that pleases me. Senior Doberman has asked if it would be ok for you to adopt an older orphan, and it just so happens that I have a couple of options for you to take a look at, the first one is Leo, now he will strike a chord with Senior Doberman as Leo is a 16 year old Doberman, he is very loving, caring and loyal, but at the moment he is also very shy and unsure of himself and a little distrustful of males as his father beat him badly for being gay. The second is Mikey, he’s a chocolate furred Labrador, again he is gay and has been beaten quite badly, he is 17, now he might require a little more work to get along with, whereas I believe that Leo will warm to you a lot quicker, I can take you to see them both right now, they are sat outside keeping each other company”

\n

\n I look at Tony and he nods, Douglas leads us outside and we see them both sat at a picnic table side by side. Mikey sees us walking up to them and begins to cower away, Leo then puts a comforting paw on Mikey’s shoulder.

\n

\n “Hey Mikey, it’s ok, these guys are pretty cool and are none other than Mr Doberman’s bodyguards”

\n

\n Mikey started to slowly return to his original position. Douglas arrives at the table with me and Tony hot on his heels.

\n

\n “Leo, Mikey, this is Wolfie Steel and his partner Tony Steel, as well as being here to watch over Senior Doberman, they are also looking for someone to adopt”

\n

\n Leo being more confident holds out his paw to me and Tony, I shake his paw first and find that he has a good strong paw, Tony then shakes the Doberman’s paw. Leo then stands and I notice that he still has his full tail and that it is wrapped around the tail of Mikey. I pretend that I haven’t noticed and he begins to speak.

\n

\n “I’m sure that Mr Macleod has given you my story and the story of Mikey, truth is I was hurt badly by my father and I know that Mikey suffered the same fate, all because of our sexuality. I have given up on ever finding someone to call me their son, but Mikey still has hope”

\n

\n I look at Tony with a sparkle in my eyes; he knows only too well what I’m thinking and lets out a slight sigh, then he nods. I now decide play my ace.

\n

\n “Leo, Mikey, Douglas Macleod has indeed told us of your stories, and truth be known, Tony and I were only looking for one to adopt, which unfortunately for you Mikey is going to be Leo”

\n

\n Leo’s ears perk up, but then he lets out a growl of displeasure, I begin to turn my back when Leo speaks.

\n

\n “Please Mr Steel; think about this, no one wants a hopeless Doberman when there is a loving Labrador to pick”

\n

\n That was all I needed to hear, Leo was prepared to stay at the home whilst Mikey got his chance at life, and I turn around with a wide smile on my muzzle.

\n

\n “Leo, you really are loyal aren’t you, so much so that you were prepared to let Mikey go in your place, however, I don’t think that is an option, you see I saw your tail wrapped around Mikey’s when you stood up and that tells me one thing, that you and Mikey have become inseparable which is why Tony and I have decided that we can’t take either of you away from the other”

\n

\n Mikey now speaks up.

\n

\n “But sir we may be good friends but we can be........”

\n

\n I didn’t give Mikey the chance to finish his sentence.

\n

\n “Mikey, let me finish please, Tony and I have come to a decision, we can’t decide between either one of you, so we are going to adopt....... both of you”

\n

\n The jaws of the two dogs fall to the floor and Tony lets out a giggle.

\n

\n “You know sweetheart, you have a real evil mean streak in you, must be why I love ya so much”

\n

\n Leo finally gets his emotions together.

\n

\n “Y-you m-mean that we are both going to be your adopted sons?”

\n

\n I nod my head and Leo’s eyes light up, but then go dull again as he realises that he still has to end his relationship with Mikey. I see the change and I know instantly what is going through his mind.

\n

\n “Leo, I know that you don’t want to end your relationship with Mikey, but you feel that you have to because of the incest rule. The thing is though, neither you nor Mikey are related by blood so technically it wouldn’t be incest. Tony and I would not want you to change the way you feel for each other, so the fact that we are going to adopt you both doesn’t mean the relationship has to end, no matter how sexual it may get. Now, get your things together because we leave here as soon as the paperwork is signed”

\n

\n Tony and I head back inside to where Douglas stands; Leo and Mikey rush round saying their farewells to the rest of their friends and collect their stuff. Douglas lets out a satisfied chuckle.

\n

\n “Well Mr Steel, you have done it again, you have put a smile back on the faces of two down at heel teenagers. The home visit will not be necessary this time, so I just need five signatures and then we are good to go”

\n

\n Tony and I add our signatures to the adoption papers, followed by the shaky paws of Leo and Mikey. The final signature is that of Douglas Macleod. Senior Doberman walks over to us.

\n

\n “Wolfie, I thought you would have had enough of just one Doberman in the family, now there is two, one of them a teen no less, I’ll say this for you, you like a challenge”

\n

\n He then turns to Mikey and Leo and speaks.

\n

\n “Boys, Wolfie and Tony are two of the finest furs I know, you will have love and loyalty from both of them, they are also heavily into family protection, if someone takes either of you on they take us all on”

\n

\n Mikey stares at Senior Doberman in awe and speaks in stuttering tones.

\n

\n “Wow, my new fathers know Senior Linkin Doberman”

\n

\n Linkin’s muzzle spreads into a beaming grin.

\n

\n “That’s Uncle Linkin to you boys”

\n

\n Mikey begins to pass out and is caught in Leo’s strong Doberman arms. I gently lift Mikey onto my back to carry him out to the waiting car. Linkin, Leo and Tony follow close behind. Once we are settled in the car, we head back to Doberman Manor where two very grateful young teens begin their new lives, not just as the adopted sons of me and Tony, but also as lovers.
