Alone in an Empty Space
It was hard picking a scene to draw, knowing that it's just my character overcoming illness and foreshadowing further events. So, I went for the end of it, my character on the train. You get to see her now with her grey suit and her eyepatch. I knew I wanted the scene sometime in the evening, if not dusk. It's inaccurate, but I got the smoke there. I made it brown and orange, thinking that low light does that. The rest of the background was practically improvised. I was focused only on Death's position. When drawing my final draft, getting the points of where she is was frustrating.
I drew this on the afternoon of June 17, 2020. I drew only the figure with a pencil, most of which I erased in the colouring process. Inked with a fountain pen and a gel pen. Coloured using pencil crayons and markers. I drank coffee and ate a banana and cookies. I listened to Nightwish: Endless Forms Most Beautiful. On this, I spent 74 minutes, start-to-finish.
