\n Part 41.

\n

\n

\n

\n The day after Wolverine had taken the unknown Wolf into the hospital, he returned to check up on his recovery. The doctor led him to the Wolf's recovery room and walked in to ask the Wolf if he was up for a visitor, through the room's window Wolverine watched as the Wolf slowly and gently nodded his head, the doctor then leaves the room and allows Wolverine to enter.

\n

\n

\n

\n Wolverine walks into the room and winces slightly at the sight that befalls him, a very battered and bruised young Wolf. Once he gets over his thoughts about how bad the Wolf looks, he sits down in the chair next to the bed.

\n

\n

\n

\n The Wolf looks at Wolverine and begins to slowly edge away from him, shivering and afraid, Wolverine sees this and begins to calm the Wolf down.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Hey bro, don't sweat it, I'm not going to hurt you, in fact it was me that saved you from certain death and I brought you to the hospital"

\n

\n

\n

\n The Wolf makes his shaky reply.

\n

\n

\n

\n "W-what do you want with me?"

\n

\n

\n

\n Wolverine giggles and shakes his head.

\n

\n

\n

\n "You seem like you need a friend, I dunno, maybe I could be that friend?"

\n

\n

\n

\n The Wolf stops trying to get away from Wolverine, and instead gets a little closer, Wolverine then continues to speak.

\n

\n

\n

\n "My name is Wolverine Steel, and like you I need a friend right about now, so what do ya say, can we be buds?"

\n

\n

\n

\n The Wolf seems to be giving Wolverine a more detailed look over, and then he replies.

\n

\n

\n

\n "My name is Kasa Wolf, thank you for helping to rescue me. You say that your name is Wolverine Steel, in my time on the streets I have heard the name of Wolfie Steel mentioned, though I know that you having the same surname is just a coincidence"

\n

\n

\n

\n Wolverine lets out a chuckle as he shakes his head again.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Wrong again my friend, I am Wolfie's older brother, and up until yesterday afternoon, like Wolfie, I lived with and worked for Senior Linkin Doberman"

\n

\n

\n

\n Suddenly both Wolves are surprised by an Argentinean voice.

\n

\n

\n

\n "You still live with and work for Linkin Doberman"

\n

\n

\n

\n Wolverine's head quickly spins to the sound of the voice only to see the great Doberman standing in the doorway. Wolverine looks back to Kasa and then continues.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Well Kasa, it seems that you have earned an audience with Senior Linkin Doberman, so I will head outside and wait until he has finished"

\n

\n

\n

\n Senior Doberman shakes his head slowly.

\n

\n

\n

\n "No Wolverine, you and I have to talk about our problems, I admit to you that I should have told you of my involvement with Matt Bond, I can't deny that I love that mouse with all of my heart, but that is not to say that I don't love you. When you ran off yesterday I was afraid that you would do something stupid"

\n

\n

\n

\n Senior Doberman now walks towards the chair where Wolverine is sitting and then kneels down by him.

\n

\n

\n

\n "I know that I hurt you bad, and I can never forgive myself for that, but you and Wolfie are a team, and a bloody good one at that, please come back to Doberman Manor, if you want to you can bring your new friend with you once he is well enough to leave the hospital"

\n

\n

\n

\n It is now time for Kasa to give Wolverine a sly wink.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Wolverine, I will be out of here in a couple of days and I have no place to live, I want the chance to get to know you better, and now that I know you like males it kind of makes it easier for me to trust you"

\n

\n

\n

\n Wolverine lets out a deep sigh; he then thinks about his reply and then makes a decision.

\n

\n

\n

\n "To be honest Senior Doberman, when I ran off yesterday I didn't really consider my living arrangements, so if your offer to let Kasa stay is still good, then I will come back, but only because I work for you and because of Wolfie, the love that you and I had is over"

\n

\n

\n

\n Linkin's ears drop flat against his head as he hears this, but then he gently nods his agreement. Wolverine turns back to Kasa, seemingly deep in thought, he then stands from the chair and prepares to leave the room, before he leaves he locks eyes with the injured Wolf.

\n

\n

\n

\n "When you are ready to leave hospital, have the nurse contact Wolfie at Doberman Manor and we'll come and collect you, but for now I got some serious thinking to do, so if you will excuse me, I will see you in a couple of days"

\n

\n

\n

\n Wolverine then looks towards Linkin.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Senior Doberman, would you please take a walk with me, as you said we both need to clear the air between us"

\n

\n

\n

\n Senior Doberman gently nods his head and follows Wolverine from the hospital. There is a tranquil slow moving river which flows alongside the hospital and they both decide to walk along the pathway that runs parallel to it, Senior Doberman offers a shaky paw in the hope that Wolverine will take it. At first Wolverine looks away, but then he slowly takes Senior Doberman's paw into his own, a weak smile appears on the Doberman's muzzle, a smile that is repeated by Wolverine, and then Wolverine speaks.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Just because we are walking by the river holding each other's paws changes nothing, I do still love you, you daft Dobie and that will never change, but I can't and won't compete with Matt Bond, and besides, if I play my cards right I might just be about to hook myself a cute little Wolf, so I will wish you and Matt well, he will now have access to one of the most fuckable butts around"

\n

\n

\n

\n Back at Doberman Manor and I'm enjoying some much needed down time with Calvin, Mickey and Leo, we are all using Senior Doberman's massive pool to help us relieve some of the stress from the past few weeks. It seems that both Mikey and Leo have taken to thinking of Calvin in much the same way that they thought of Tony, sure he is no replacement for Tony, no one could ever replace him, but Calvin knows that and he isn't even trying to become a replacement.

\n

\n

\n

\n I stand in the shallow end of the pool with my arm lovingly wrapped around Calvin's neck, my head resting gently on his shoulder, I have come to see Calvin and the boys as my support, my rocks, the three of them have done so much to help me through the difficult days after Tony's death. That is not to say that everyone else at the Manor hasn't done their bit, because in truth everyone has helped me out, without them I would have gone under.

\n

\n

\n

\n From my stand point in the pool I can see where once my home stood, now in its place there is a new house coming close to completion, I know that in a week maybe two I will be taking my first footsteps into the new house, and that is when I will need my boys the most, it is also when Mikey and Leo will need me and Calvin, on the day of the explosion I had found that I was struggling to cope but what I hadn't taken into account until now is how badly it had affected the two boys.

\n

\n

\n

\n I'm suddenly brought out of my reverie as I hear the crunch of gravel under booted paws; I turn to see Senior Doberman and Matt Bond walking paw in paw into the garden, Wolverine following close behind. Wolverine removes his boots and socks and sits at the edge of the pool and dangles his feet into the cool water, he then speaks to me.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Bro, you know how when I first found out about you and Tony I was dead set against gay couples, well then I started to accept you both as I could see that Tony made you so very happy, and then of course I got swept up by the paws of the great Doberman, well I think that I'm starting to fall for another guy and it kind of scares the living crap out of me, so I guess what I'm saying is that I need a little brotherly advice"

\n

\n

\n

\n I let out a chuckle and reply.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Well god damn, I never thought that the day that my older bro asked me for advice would ever arrive. Ok you goof ball, get naked and get into this pool, you and I are gonna talk feelings"

\n

\n

\n

\n Wolverine blushes and then makes his own reply.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Bro, I can't get naked in front of Calvin, Leo and Mikey"

\n

\n

\n

\n It is now Leo's turn to make Wolverine blush.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Uncle Wolverine, we are all gay guys here, you have absolutely nothin' that we haven't all seen before"

\n

\n

\n

\n Wolverine sighs gently but then removes his clothing and shakily gets into the pool; once he is in the pool he stands next to me and Calvin and continues.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Bro, you remember the Wolf that you helped me to rescue the other day, well I have been visiting him every day since, and each time I feel a stronger connection to him, I get the feeling that he likes me too, but I have two fold problem, first I'm afraid that Kasa will think that I'm on the rebound from Senior Doberman and thus will reject me, I also fear that Senior Doberman will think that I no longer want to be near him or to love him, which just isn't true, Jesus I'm so screwed up"

\n

\n

\n

\n I place a gentle paw on my brother's huge shoulder and reply.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Wolverine, listen to me and listen good, Senior Doberman has chosen to be with Matt, but he also loves you, hell when you ran out he was beside himself with worry, the thing is though bro, Linkin loves you and wants you to move on. Now I know that Linkin told you that you could bring your new friend back to Doberman Manor, he told me that he could see that you had formed an attachment to Kasa. As for Kasa thinking that you are rebounding from Senior Doberman, I think that he is clued up enough to see that that isn't the case"

\n

\n

\n

\n Wolverine looks deep into my eyes and he knows full well that what I'm saying is the truth. He lets out a sigh that is somewhere between a resigned sigh and a happy sigh, and I continue.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Bro, take my advice, bring Kasa back to Doberman Manor when he gets out of hospital, and then show him the love and affection that you have for him, but don't overdo it because you don't want to scare him off, in other words, just be who you are and no more and I'm sure that pretty soon you will have a lovely young Wolf as your mate"

\n

\n

\n

\n Wolverine giggles as he gives his reply.

\n

\n

\n

\n "Who'd a thunk it huh, a strapping 7 footer like me taking advice from a little pip squeak like you? But all joking aside bro, that is actually pretty sound advice, I just hope that you will practice what you preach when it comes to that gorgeous Labrador Calvin"

\n

\n

\n

\n I give Wolverine a gentle and playful thump to his shoulder for his trouble, but deep down inside I know that even though Wolverine's words were said in jest, there is also a serious message behind them.

\n
